Was also wanting to ask, with the ViVi Nova.. would your PG/VG ratios really even matter all that much when it comes to FUNCTIONALITY... it seems to be the key factor, or at least one of them from the crap I've been through with cartos and tanks.. but looking at the design of the Vivi Nova... I wouldn't think it would be overly difficult for those wicks to absorb just about any ratio and get it to the coil without much problem.. just wondering though
There was a thread a couple of weeks back where some chemist posted that the reason that the vivi nova tanks may appear to mute flavors, especially vg based flavors, was the difficult time the silica wicks that these use have in wicking to the coils. Some vivi users reported better wicking (hence better flavor?) after replacing the silica wicks with cotton wicks.

If I get bored, I might try to find the post and link to it.

Personally, I like things that work right out of the box. I shouldn't need to fiddle that much to make something work right.

I agree completely Bad, but this experience with the cartos from Provape has done everything but work out of the box lol.

Still going to try again with better cartos when I get the money (and a different juice) but I'll have to see how those work for me.

Really hoping the 50/50 I got in a bit larger quantities from EC will work at least a few days with the cartos from Provape when those come in. I tried some of their sample bottles and I believe I just didn't prime those cartos enough thinking I was going to run out of liquid.. Maybe a proper filling will be the key on those

Ok... so I boiled and dried one of my only working cartos from Provape last night.

I primed it with one of the 50/50 blends from ECBlend ... then filled the tank. First attempt got no sucking at all, so I unscrewed it and toyed around with it a bit.

When I put it back on, I got a fairly good hit. But then I realized that I hadn't screwed it on tightly. It's on tightly but not as tight as I usually screw on my cartos ... Does tightening them all the way on a Provari cut off your ability to pull on the carto??? I'm going to feel like the worlds largest @$$ if I screwed up all of these cartos and moaned to no end if my problem was as simple as screwing them ALL the way on tightly.. Anyone know for sure or run into this??

No, you can't use 50/50 juice in carto/tanks or they clog. I learned that the hard way myself. You have to use 80/20 or 70/30 PG/VG at the thickest, with two holes. As you have seen, they just won't absorb in there and wick properly if the juice isn't thinner.

I push roughly 30-40ml of 50/50 through standard 2.0 boges with no problems. I change them out weekly due to a noticeable drop in flavor. YMMV just saying that it can and is done on a regular basis.

Most mods' connector pin and drip well (if present) are a little different, as are the connector pins of the different juice carrying devices. I have found that a little playing with how snug the two are screwed together can make a difference. The key is for the air holes that are in juice carrying device's connector pin be exposed enough to allow some air flow for your inhales.

I believe I had to use a 510-510 adapter when using a tank on my Provari to allow for airflow underneath. Also, I use organic alcohol based 100% VG juice in my Vivi's with no problem so it depends on what type of VG you use. Alcohol base makes the juice thin and has amazing throat hit. Juices containing a lot of sweeteners can gunk up things fast.

Knock on wood but it seems to be working alright.. I followed a tutorial on boiling them. Then I blew through it several times until no more water came out, letting it sit overnight afterwards.

Right now I'm using a 50/50 from EC Blend and getting -decent- hits. If it was a new carto I think it'd be much better but oh well, right now I don't have any more lol.

I just have to play with how tight I get it on my Provari or else I get no hit whatsoever. It's at least giving me some more confidence in trying out tanks again when I get paid and order some more things.

One of them being a better case. The hard case sold by Provape would hold everything snugly but I don't think it's got the room I'm looking for. It's a case from CigarCaddy so I found the bigger version (the 3400 model) on amazon that I'll be getting so it can carry my Provari, couple of batteries, couple tanks, and one or two vivi Novas without too much moving around. Still hoping Ikenvape restocks the 510 punch megas before then, but I'm willing to buy several extras of the regular 510 megas for trial and error use of punching my own... I keep hearing they're amazing cartos so really wanting to try them out.

May I offer another suggestion? ;)

I use this eGo-style case for my mods. It has room for two mods (or a mod and two tanks), and two webbed pockets for extra batteries, tanks, whatever. I got mine from Smokeless Image. This is the only eGo-style case whose webbed pockets open in the same direction on both sides of the case (important for not spilling stuff that are in the pockets when you open the case to get your mod out). $14.

So it says "Volt" on the outside. Who cares? :p

I've looked at that case before.. And trust me it saying volt is no problem at all... I mean the one I was talking about has an emblem that says CigarCaddy LOL.

The reason I had continued the search you can probably answer for me since you use one lol.. I was worried with the mesh pockets that any tanks might get knocked around a bit more. I know the IBTanked ones are tough but was still a concern I had. I'm guessing it isn't as big a problem as I suspected considering your tanks collection though?? LOL

No concern needed. Once the case is zipped up, everything fits snug, no moving around of items. If you end up having surplus room, I guess you could add some cut foam pieces to ease your concern, but I've not felt the need.

And the IBTanks are surprisingly tough. They have survived a couple of falls off of a locker room bench and hit the hard tile floor with no problems (unlike another vendor's tanks I have used in the past). If you are only going to be carrying one mod, you can strap one tank beside it in the other elastic band. As you can see from the pic of mine, this case can hold a lot of gear. And its quite comfortable to carry in the hand when on the go.

Yeah seeing that image definitely puts its size into perspective lol.

Between the tanks, Novas, and batteries I'm sure I'll be able to fill them at least near that point.

Good to hear about the ones from IBTanked ... The phiniacs look good too but the price is a bit out there especially considering my luck thus far with tanks on my Provari lol. Might try one at some point but IBTanked is the first choice for me this coming paycheck.

I'm not rough on my devices by any means.. I've been more careful with my Provari than I was babysitting my nephews and niece LOL! But accidents happen .. so like I said good to hear. Plus I think the green swirl is awesome. I've got a black Provari with green button/led and plan on getting a backup soon of the same colors.. all time fav combo (I blame it on too much time spent looking at old school PC monitors).. Big Daddy Vape has some tips I'm investing in as well called the Plasma because of that lol!

I believe that the juice provape sells is 100 percent pg and the cartos I got from them, for use in the dct tank are two hole punched. One of the carts I cut slots in with my dremel, and it worked great for about a day, but the next day it clogged on me. Now I am using a cart with just the two holes. It has been working good for two days now. I don't understand how they get clogged.

I don't know if I'm correct with this, it was told to me in another forum, so dont quote me, but ... A woman wrote them asking about their liquid and supposedly they replied theirs are 100% VG.

Which would explain your clogging more from what I've been learning. I ordered two small bottles of their liquid- Whitehorse tobacco and Goldrush tobacco and I can't vape them at all. Way too much of this really bad chemical after taste with both of them ... I cranked the voltage higher on Whitehorse and it helped some but not much. That's just my personal tastes though.

That's awesome, Baditude.... I was looking all over Phiniac and IBtanked for something like them, just happened to hop over to BDV to look at their adapter you recommended and thought "eh, might as well look.." And BAM.. There was the plasma.. Exactly what I was looking for LOL

I had no problems using tanks and cartos when I was using my Inferno from Volcano (as long as I used Vilcano liquid anyway)...

I've had my Provari 5 days now and have gone through more cartomizers for my tanks than days I've had it using multiple brands of liquid at various pg and vg ...

Nothing I've tried has worked and I'm done with attempting.. call me a quitter.. I am one and not ashamed of it, just beyond frustrated as I never had these problems before.

I absolutely detest regular cartomizers that I have to refill 4 times a day, so what are my other options? I've heard people mention things like the Vivi Nova, Stardust, and Kanger but want your opinions on them, particularly when used with a Provari.

But right now I'm so frustrated with myself I'll take any reviews or recommendations anyone has that doesn't involve your typical tank&carto combination or just regular standalone cartos that aren't punched but that I'd be refilling nonstop

The funniest thing. The ProVari provides a consistent vape, and in doing so you actually use more juice because many other apvs are less efficient. The price of perfection...

That's the entire reason I decided to get one... I knew with the voltage options I'd have more options for cartos, clearos, etc... in turn opening some options for more liquids to try..

I just didn't expect it to be so frustrating with the combination of error on my part and only having one kind of cartos for my tanks to begin with. Wish I had joined ECF prior to ordering and got some good tanks, a LOT of different ratios of liquids and several cartos to experiment with and find the best combinations for me to use.

Lot of people on here have given me enough tips and pointers that I'm going to be doing that with my upcoming paycheck.. Trial and error til I find "my" favorite vapes. And their help has been beyond priceless. There's no telling how long and how much I'd have wasted trying things I know for a fact won't work now
