Am I crazy? How can this be safe?

So this dude in a facebook group is saying hes running .06 ohm build on 2 vtc4s running in parallel

These batteries have an amp limit of 30amps, and 60amps total since theyre running in parallel.. but a .06ohm build is pulling 70amps...
On freshly chargwd batteries does this mean this guy is vaping at 294 watts? (4.2x4.2)/.06
Or is he vaping at 1176 watts? (8.4x8.4)/.06

@____@ confused how this can be even moderatley safe or even rational.

Unless they are using a laboratory grade scientific instrument to measure to hundredths of an ohm, a .06 ohm build is just guessing and may be higher or lower.

Also their switch contacts, battery contacts will also contribute a few hundredths of an ohm to the circuit, so total wattage and amperage is simply a guessing game.

Easily as safe as crossing the street without looking to see if there's any traffic coming....

If you can't get a good or even amazing vape at or above 0.1ohms, then your doing something wrong. Lean how to make better coils and you won't need to vape at 0.06ohms, lol.

Agreed. I love it when i see some genius saying they vape at .1 or love it under .1, tbh you loose ALLOT of flavor. Let's be honest with ourselves. Clouds are fun. We all love blowing them. Even when i started vaping the one thing i enjoyed a bit more than blowing out vapor *it was a MVP with a protank 2 gimme a break lol* was the flavor. at some point you're loosing flavor. It all depends on the tank or dripper you're using. I find in my protanks 1-1.4 ohms are perfect for ME. In my dripper i have different builds in each device. dual 28g .6Ω in my patriot; dual 26g .4Ω in my Plume and .3 occasionally but i noticed a loss of flavor. I even went with .3 quads in the Plume but ramp time sucked, i'll try it again when i get the Sigelei 100w plus thats coming *happy dance*

Many of us started vaping to quit smoking and for some it turned into a hobby... a very expensive and time consuming hobby. Cloud competitions for vapers are akin to a turkey shoot for people who like to shoot things. Last i checked i never once saw a smoke blowing comp :p .

Back to the point at hand i really dont ever see the point in going under .2 at any point unless you just like the way your hands look when they get vented on. Especially at .0~ you burned all the flavor out but by damn you AND your mech just blew a cloud that made the us military Jealous :D

I failed to mention certain flavors become muted at certain resistances.. and some flavors change at certain resistances... That's another post for another day... lots of explaining :)

Great post...the flavor also changes depending on number of coils and if you lung hit or mouth to lung....also if you exhale through your nose.
A lot of insight for a vaper with under a year's experience...CONGRATS on your upcoming anniversary!!...:toast:

i've never lost flavour with hotter builds, infact i use less flavour now at 0.1Ω(3-6% flavour) than i did with cooler builds at 1-1.4Ω(8-10% flavour).

its funny that you have quoted gummy bare's post and yet have lost flavour at 0.3Ω, take his advice? :D

I've seriously read that "taste is subjective" at least 100 times within the first month of vaping, heard it at least twice as much watching videos. Clearly no one told you :)

You claim to vape at .1? awesome. Hope you used a fluke to check your resistances and have a spare car battery lying around. .1Ω at a fully charged 4.2v = 42a, 176 watts. Even at 3.7v your claimed .1Ω is pushing 37a. Thats some happy pulsing :D

*edit*: Found where you said something about a parallel box. Assuming that's what you use; yea thats easily attainable, fairly certain it's safe. Only fairly because i can't say i know for a fact; anything can happen and i've never wanted nor used a mechanical parallel. *shrug* again to each their own... still i'd check it with a fluke.

I don't understand the super sub-ohm argument either. I get a fantastic vape with great clouds on my vulcan with a 1.4-1.5 ohm coil in it running on a VW mod at 15-18W. Yeah I can build lower and push more power through it but I don't find the quality of the vape increases at all.

you may not see an improvement if your equipment is running at its limit, when a battery is run at or close to its limit you will see less performance than you were expecting, ofcourse im only assuming this as i dont fully know what your using :) edit: just realised you can only do upto 18w period.

As for high wattage and mech's, i slowly crept upto the wattage i vape at, i dont vape a hot vape for the clouds, its more to do with being able to feel satisfied in the hit, i'm unsure why but i seem to get used to my builds, if you ever vaped on a mech mod you would know that feeling when your battery is getting low and the flavour etc start to drop off, its kinda like that.
I dont choose to use mech's for any reason other than affordability

edit: for someone on a mech to vape at about 20watts they'd have to vape a build at 0.8Ω

Just curious if a 0.1Ω build would be alright if the atty was used on a DNA40-TP Vapor Flask? Lowest recommended in the spec sheet says 0.1Ω for Ni200 so I decided to try it out. The temperature and wattage are adjustable and change themselves as you're hitting it. If it reaches a limit it goes to "Temperature Protected" mode and basically cuts itself off. Definitely want to move it up to the 0.2Ω - 0.4Ω arena, but just wanted to check with everyone and see what your thoughts are on this particular scenario.
