Am I doing something wrong?

First off, just under 2 weeks with no analogs. The problem I am having is my PV makes me feel awful. Compared to analogs, it actually feels worse in terms of sore throat and difficulty breathing. I know I am past the "that is a side effect of quitting smoking" because I done multiple days without vaping either. Once I take just a few puffs, maybe six, on the PV I feel it for the next 24 hours.

Is this normal? I am using 0mg nic content and a VG only liquid. I like the concept of vaping so I can use it instead of analogs, but if this is the result I don't see a point.

Harshness with VG is virtually unheard of unless your atomizer is starving. That will give you a raw throat. You didn't say what PV you were using or what type of atomizer/carto you have.

If it's an atomizer, pull the cart and look at the filler. You should see the filler almost even with the end of the cart and a little dent in the middle where the bridge is depressing it. If the filler is pushed back into the cart, pull it out, wash it under running water, dry it by pressing between the folds of a paper towel, and reinstall it in the cart even with the end. Fill with juice until it looks slushy (not puddled) and vape.

100% VG in a tank may be a little too thick to feed. Try some 70pg/30vg down to 50/50. It sounds like you are getting a somewhat dry vape.

If you use a cart with polyfill or a cartomizer, do you experience the same effects? It's hard to drip into a tank atty effectively because the the piercing plate is in the way and it's hard to ring the spike.

If you're drinking lots of water you can scratch that off the list. Things go haywire when you get dehydrated. I hope it's that simple. Check the health thread. Maybe a vaper with like symptoms found a solution. Gosh, hope you're better soon.

I feel great, but only because I am not vaping or smoking. I was just hoping there is a solution where I can vape

Some people report symptoms with VG, but it's usually PG that they have issues with. Sorry you are having side effects from vaping. We all would probably feel better if we were completely free of all outside stimulus. There are so many things that create allergic reactions.

BTW, salad dressings generally contain PG. Do you have and side effects from them? It's also in drinks like sno-cone juice and fruit juice products. You might want to read the links below about VG and PG and see if you can narrow it down to one or the other or eliminate it altogether. They list foods and products that contain one or both.

drinking a lot helps with throat problems, but i found myself coughing a lot , when lying in bed ... never been a heavy smoker (3-15 a day, for 4 years) and i just started coughing after a few weeks of vaping ... but its getting better ... maybe the body is getting used to it ... i would try VG, read a lot of poeple who switched to that and didnt have any more problems

So you have gone from nicotine to none...when I used to try and quit smoking analogs cold turkey the first week I was so tired I could hardly function. It might not be your vape, it might be the nicotine withdrawals. Just a thought..not an MD or anything.

I'm not tired and I haven't had nicotine in 2 weeks. I don't think physical withdrawal symptoms would last that long. Also I only have a sore throat after vaping

100% VG and tanks don't get along. Tanks like the thickness of 30% VG or less though some thinner 50/50's may work. You could try adding distilled water (up to 10%) to your VG juice and then maybe it will be thin enough to wick.

With slim ecig cartos, I get best results with 20% VG or 10%

If you are using a normal atomizer and cartridge (or drip tip on a sealed manual battery) you can use any PG/VG you want as long as it flows at least as fast as you vape.

Also manual batteries are much less work. You can press the button in early and have vapor ready when you start to drag. However, if you get normal 510 batteries get a charger cable too because the 510-T charging cable can damage normal 510 batteries.

And note - occasionally someone is allergic to PG, occasionally to VG.

Because you don't have any nicotine, your juice is pretty much all VG and flavorings. Maybe all the flavorings are making you feel sick. If you have food allergies, it could be the VG.

Try vaping unflavored. Personally, if I quit smoking and wasn't vaping either, I'd quit while I was ahead. Maybe you don't really need to vape either. Unless you think you'll smoke if you don't vape, maybe it's for the best.

I didn't get the "quitters flu" until my third week vaping. So that tells me it could still be withdrawal systems from cigarettes, not just nicotine.

I think some parts of withdrawal last for at least a month or more.

I also think that if you can get off the cigs without vaping, that you should just not vape. Even if you weren't having issues that you think may be related to vaping, I think it's just common sense the if you can avoid the addiction altogether, you're better off. If you don't need the nic, and have managed to get off the cigs without vaping, I think your best choice would be to not smoke or vape.

For most of us, we would still be smoking cigs if it were not for vaping. Comparing the costs there (both $ and health), vaping is a pretty clear winner.

But comparing vaping vs just breathing plain old air, both the $ and health would tend to point towards "just breathe".

Good luck, regardless. I'm sorry I don't have any ideas on what may be causing your reaction when you vape.

I don't know if what I'm doing is called thread high-jacking so i apologize if it is. I don't think it is the withdrawal of tobacco , since when I wake up i feel great...until I start vaping. it's interesting that I didn't notice this earlier but it could be because some of the first juices I tried were just pg, and a sample of ECO pure which did the job but on the enjoyment department they fell kinda flat for the eco pure that is.

So now I am a bit confused... is it the vg that's doing it or the flavoring?

Which one is making you feel bad, the flavoring or the VG?

Hard to say. I can't vape high VG I also can't vape really sweet juices like the cookie or baked goods type of juices. All of the flavorings make me feel a little queasy. Especially early in the morning. I'm OK with it for an hour or so in the evenings. This also happened when I first started vaping though. So it could have been withdraw or a bunch of things. Who knows.

Vapor Bomb has some great juice flavors and you can pick the ratio of pg/vg. That's what I did, got small bottles of the same flavor in all pg 30% VG, 40% VG, etc. Once I found the one that worked best for me I stuck with that juice ratio. Of course from a different vendor you may get different results.

You can go broke trying to figure out what juice to use.
