I had about half a pack left when I got my first e-cig. It took a few days of doing both to get me started. Once I ran out of smokes, I had no choice to make the e-cig thing work. After that it was easy for me.

But everyone is different, and if you smoke at first it's okay. Eventually you will find what works for you. You don't fail unless you quit trying.

Here's one for you...I still have 4oz of pipe tobacco (or assuming my old habit an 8 day supply) stashed away. What killed me on the tobacco department is the night of my first day, I had an intense craving and gave into it. It was late at night, I was tired of having to consciously choose the PV. It was the foulest thing I have ever tasted. It was like ghost pepper (the kind of peppers they make mace out of) had been dipped into public ashtray and then shoved into my mouth. I finished it but I did not enjoy it in the slightest.

Don't stress too much. It's ok to use the PV and smoke for a while. Just try to limit how many you smoke per day. Every time you choose the PV over a cigarette, that's a win. I took to vaping right away, but I had sort of a mental panic and bought two more packs that day. I smoked those over a few days and when they were gone, I just never bought anymore.

Cigarettes have a ton of chemicals in them, and your body/brain could be addicted to any number of them. I had a rough time for a couple of weeks as my body detoxed from all of that. It gets better. :)

Well yes there are quit a few things other than nicotine addicting in analogs but nicotine alone should cover that fine in most cases even though you'll never be same! You'll go through withdrawals and those symptoms will ease up then your have other symptoms you might blame on vaping which it may be but most likely not. Give it a few weeks and the symptoms change to good things, like breathing better feeling more stamina tasting and smelling things better. I remember a post they said they thought their vape was making their poop smell really bad. Most everybody had a lot of fun with that because it probably always did, they just opulent smell it as well. But seriously, there are alternatives to smoking like Swedish snus and nasal snuff and even chewing tobaccos if you can't stop reaching for a cigarette after a few weeks or Aroma Juice sells the famous WTA e liquid. Search it on ecf. Search them all. You might learn something surprising. The goal at first is anything but smoke. You can go where you need to eventually to feel better and maintain the healthier lifestyle.

Faylool I received my first taste of WTA today and I'm in heaven. I put analogs down over a month ago and have been pretty happy with just buying juices from local vendors. I happened into the WTA forum and had to try it! Due to the cost I'm going to reserve it for my first morning smoke and that after dinner smoke we all crave. That's really the only thing that has bothered me since stopping......but I never gave in to the analog urge. Deeo as instructed please do some research on WTA it's worth it.....there has been alot of time and effort put into the research and development of WTA and it's incredibly good....IMO!!

Thank you for asking this, and all the fine, encouraging answers. It's my first vape day after more than two decades of smoking, and I've been sucking on the damn thing pretty constantly since the moment I got it this afternoon. I only had one analog this morning, and have been craving one ever since, but not so badly that I've rolled another yet. 'Yet' is the operative word, here. I'd go on, but I don't want to hijack this when I have my own intro post to do, but I did want to thank you.

I used to smoke a pack a day, sometimes 2. I started Vaping at 18mg nic and I felt that was too strong so give that a try. 24mg sounds more like if you were smoking a pack of cigars a day (to me). smoking cigarettes was a bit easier because ones lit, you just keep puffing it unlike e cigs, you gotta press the button every time. you'll get the hang of it soon, just keep it going.

I agree with the "don't stress/over-think this" attitude. Everyone reacts different...and different is only human, right? For me, I HAD to quit cold-turkey, but that has always been a part of my make up. You may well fare better transitioning between smoking and vaping, ideally slowly increasing the percentage of vaping versus smoking.

My problem has always been that frankly, I KNEW that I wanted and needed (for health reasons) to quit cigarettes...but I DID NOT want to quit smoking! So for me, having a "smoke/vape" while reading the morning paper over a coffee, or while out for a drive, holding a cigarette, puffing on it, has been every bit as much of the deal as the nicotine hit.

Stick with it, don't fret or feel frustrated that you may still need to light up now and then. The worst thing to do is to feel that somehow you are "doing it wrong" or failing because you still crave a smoke. Besides, it really isn't the destination, its the journey that counts! Have fun with it!

I made a decision to NOT smoke analogs anymore. The next day on my way to work I bought a Metro Ecig with a couple refill cartos. Never smoked another analog again. Puffed on the Metro for a few days til I went to my local B&M store and bought an eGo kit and 24mg juice. 3 weeks later I finally threw away the last 4 analogs I had stashed away for "just in case". Been over 2 months since my last analog and have no desire for another one ever again!

To wean yourself off tobacco, use your ecig to stop the cravings. When you feel the need to smoke, just vape heavily for a few minutes and then re-evaulate. You will likely find that the cravings go away. 24mg juice will usually be enough, but some people need 36mg juice.

Smoke as necessary at first and don't worry about not quitting completely. I went from two packs a day down to 6 or 8 cigarettes a day by the end of the first week. When you get to that point, continue for a while and let your body equalize to the new levels.

After a while, when you smoke your after dinner cigarettes or those with a cup of coffee, include your ecig and vape in between hits from your cigarette. You will find that you like the taste of a good juice better than the taste of the smoke from your cigarette. Once you establish that thought in your mind and learn that the ecig can take away the cravings, you can quit without looking back. The ecig will satisfy the cravings for nic easily.

I started vaping in august last year and continued to smoke until mid October. I would only use cigs at home and only vaped at work. Got to the point I said enough of buying both, chose. So I have not had a cig since then but I think I vape a lot. Some posts here indicate I may not vape as much as others lol
