Hey guys! I started vaping in February with an extremely simple pen and just last Friday I upgraded to a Reuleaux RX Gen3 dual by Wismec. On Sunday I filled the tank with some new juice I had bought and after like two hits it started tasting burnt and it left a burning sensation on my throat. Yesterday I went to buy more juice and I took my vape to the store (the best one here in Peru) and the guy said the coil wasn’t burnt but the problem got worse. It tasted and felt awful! Anyway, I don’t know if my set up is wrong or maybe I’m vaping too many times in a row :( help please!

when filling a tank with a new coil, let it sit for a few minutes (10 if you can wait) before vaping, to give the coil time to get completely saturated, this should help stop dry hits

now as for felt awful, are you using the same nicotine strength and pg/vg ratio in the juice as you were with the pen? Also what ohm coils were you using and are you using now as well as the watts
too much pg in a juice tends to give a harsh throat hit
too much nicotine tends to taste peppery (unless it's a nic salt, then just keep an eye on if you start feeling dizzy or nauseous)
the same juice in a lower ohm coil and higher watts can sometimes give more of a nic rush then what you are used to

would need to understand more of the problem...but if it is simply dry hit, burnt taste, allow the coil to sit few minutes after filling before vaping and make sure not to vape on an empty tank

Priming the coil as described above is already good advice. What we could look at next is at the power setting you chose on your reuleaux.

It wasn’t a new coil, I had been using it all Saturday and Sunday morning. I’m already very familiar with prepping my coils hehe.

The juice I used was 80/20 and I’m using the WM01 by wismec, the one that comes in the box.

The tank was filled enough, not up to the top to avoid overflow. It was so bad I had to open the tank and get rid of the leftover juice.

It smelled like burnt rubber, the taste was bad. It just tasted like sugar and something burning. It usually happened on the 2nd or 3rd hit.

    :(

Definitely try a new coil. If the wire legs on the bottom are not making good contact they can arc and burn the rubber insulator that the coil is made with.

Blister pack coils are a dice roll, they make them by the thousands daily and some companies have a higher percentage of acceptable failures than others.

Yes, I’m using a new coil and everything is back to normal but I don’t wanna change coils every two days! People claim their coils last for two weeks but mine wa bad after two day :(

depends on the juice, some of my coils only last a few days...at best I get a week

another thing could just be the juice, try lowering your watts and see if you get the same experience, or a different juice...as well as coils
there are some juices i've had the past that, I don't know just has wicking issues, every few hits it was nasty...

It might just be the juice then :( I’ll try it again on this new coil I just got and hopefully it won’t give me the same problem

Some companies seem to have better quality control with their coils than others. For example, I've read that SMOK coils can last for just a couple days. I've been using the original Uwell Crown tank and coils for years and they last me up to 4 weeks.

I'm not at all familiar with your tank or the coils it uses. Hopefully you have solved the issues you were having.

It could very well be the juice, too. I can't recall how many bottles of juice I've purchased only to not be able to vape it due to poor taste or harshness.

80 VG is going to be thick, you may need to adjust your time between puffs to allow the cotton to rewick. There's nothing wrong with 60 watts, but at .4 ohms I'd see if I could get a satisfying vape at a lower wattage, that will help too.

Oh, and welcome to the forum. You can learn a lot here.

I'd start at a much lower power and work my way up as well. 60 wats might be too hot. Good luck!

I’m using 60 watts with a different juice and it works just fine.

With the one that caused problems I tried all watts from 40 to 55 and they all tasted horribly :/

What's the VG/PG ratio of the different juice you're using?

Once a coil is burned like that it's going to taste terrible no matter what you do. So let's say the coil was burnt at 60 watts because your new juice was thicker than what you were previously using, that coil is done.

With a thicker VG juice you can still use it, that's where the lower wattage recommendation came in. I use RDA's, but at .4 ohms I run about 40W. The lower the ohms the higher the power..... if I build a .2 ohm set up I'd run 60-75 Watts and a .6 build at 30 Watts, but it really comes down to how warm you like your vape. Just remember that the general rule of thumb is higher resistance (ohms) lower wattage.

Hmmmmm, so i don’t remember what wattage I used when I tried the Strawberry juice. I just remember it tasting awful and being sad cause it was a new vape and coil. I tried lowering the wattage and it tasted better but you could still tell something was wrong. I decided to finish the juice left but last night it was literally burning my throat so I took it out and when I checked it didn’t seem burnt but it looked brownish. I washed it and it went back to white. I didn’t use it again obviously.

Now I’m using a new juice with a new coil. It’s sublime by Svrf. I don’t know the pg/vg ratio cauSe it doesn’t show on the box or bottle but at 60w it tastes delicious as it should.

I’m just worried becaue I don’t want it to burn Again. I’ve rAn out of coils and it’s really hard to find wismec coils here. I’m crying

This. It's only logical, but it's easy to overlook as well.

(mistake from my side - wm coils aren't bb coils. screw wismec!)
