Am I making the right choice?

I am totally new to the e-cig world and it is quite apparent reading the posts here when I don't have a concept of what half of the words mean. What are the main differences between the V2 (KR808???) and the Joye 501?

I "think" I have decided on the V2cigs.com ultimate kit and also buying the battery free adaptor for use in the car and at the computer (close to $200.00). Is this a KR808 model and can I buy the same thing from another supplier for a cheaper price?

Also, I smoke about a pack a day of More Red 120s. These are rather difficult to find at times, but I really dislike all other brands. They are much thinner than a regular cig, but not as skinny as Capri's. I hate how big a regular cig feels in my mouth. Is there a thin e-cig? Is there a e-liquid that is comparable to More Reds?

Also, who is this Terry I have heard of on the forum that sells a really good cinnamon flavor liquid? Don't really think flavors really appeal to me, but who knows and I love cinnamon.

Thanks for any information.

I didn't think flavors would appeal to me either, until I got some. I even got a pall mall flavor (my brand of analogs) and it was terrible. The other flavors are good when you test them out a bit. I've only tried a few, but so far Fireball and Cappucino (from freedomsmokeusa.com) appeal to me way more than the pall malls I was smoking just earlier before my Riva arrived. Don't write off the flavors, trust me.

$200 seems like alot of money I would check around and talk to people. As far as the size I have seen quite a few places offering "flat tips" they look like the plastic tips on cheap cigars. I would also say forget getting a ciggy flavor just get some small bottles of things that sound interesting. You will fall in love with some and hate others. www.madvapes.com is where I have gotten all my gear and that $200 will get you alot from them.

It's not complicated at all. All the different terms may not make sense and many of them don't really matter. When you decide which one you want, go ahead and order it. Once you have it in your hands, using it, it will all fall into place. You'll be like, ohhh, ok, now I see what they meant. Just do it, you'll be glad you did.

The KR808 was designed as a 2 piece model. Battery + cartomizer
The 501 is a 3 piece model Battery + atomizer + cartridge However, using a cartomizer instead of the atty.cart combo essentially makes it a piece model.

Before even looking at those 2, you need to answer some questions to know if that is even the right model.

1. How many do you smoke?

If the answer = 1.5 packs plus, then ordering any mini is not a good choice, IMO.

Ok, here is the deal after reading more what you put.

1. The taste is primarily from the liquid you use - but different models do taste different because of different atomizers/cartomizers.

2. You are not going to find a liquid that tastes just like an analog because they put thousands of chemicals in them to keep you addicted AND the hit is from carbon monoxide (poisen).

3. ALL mini's have brutal battery life. The size of any ecig is basically the size of the battery.

4. If ordering any mini model, get a passthrough. This allows you to not use a battery. I know people will say a PCC will be fine. That is only partially true. The atomizer draw on a small battery WILL eventually ruin the small batteries. So a passthrough is a necessity for a mini, in my view.

5. Once you begin to vape you likely will NOT want it to taste like the cig you are used to. If it did you likely would stop ordering that liquid.

6. For less than the $200 you mentioned, you could buy 2 different kits - an EGO AND a mini AND juice and still have money left over.

EGO kit: $55 from LiteCigUSA

2 boxes of BOGE cartomizers, 5 in a box - $16

Kr808 from Vapor4Life Ultimate with PCC: $89.50

10 WOW cartomizers $21

30 ml of liquid: $15

Total: $196.50

And that is for two complete kits, liquid, cartomizers, PCC, LOL.

You do not need all this, just trying to make a point of what you CAN get for $200 bucks.

you can fine a ton of deals for a kr808d-1 better than what you quoted. Don't get sucked in on some sales pitch. vapornine.com (off the top of my head) has a better deal...while you're at it get the kr808 passthrough. (prob less than half the price you mentioned - minus liquids/cartos of course)

WOW. I just ordered KR808D-1 From Myvaporstore for 30usd. $200 is more than what I'll be spending on that, fluids and ordering an Ego kit this weekend. I ordered the Kr808 for it's thinness, cheapness and twiddle-ability. I'm ordering the Ego because, everyone goes on about how good it is, and because it's PINK and they will donate money to Breast cancer. LOL

I'd spend more time looking Irishgirl before you plop down way too much money for something. There seem to be alot of starter kits you can get for $30-$70 that pepole largerly agree are worthwhile. That way you'll have money left oer to spend on juice !

I suppose your talking about this kit V2 ULTIMATE KIT - V2 CIGS

if you are it includes a usb passthrough....and a one year warranty
it isn't a terrible deal as it includes a 3rd battery the passthrough the pcc 25 cartridges
though why you would want a pcc AND a carrying case I don't know.

I personally like this one
Electronic Cigarette | Affordable, Only $59 | 100% FREE Shipping!
as they have a lifetime warranty on batteries...it is what I use for my kr808 and it works well it is 59.99 but you would have to add a usb passthrough and pcc (don't pay more than 19.99)

edit: I would HIGHLY advice some sort of warranty from where you buy it from...if anything goes wrong on a kr808 it is going to be the battery you don't want to be buying new ones three months from now if you get a lemon

My impression based on your list of wants is that you're probably going to have to compromise to make vaping work for you. You're looking to transition away from smoking without skipping a beat--I understand that--but there's going to be an adjustment to unfamiliarity.

The V2 kit you're looking at does appear to be a KR808 clone. In and of itself, that's a good thing (I don't know that there's anything thinner), but you'll find that any e-cigarette is inevitably much heavier than any e-cigarette. A battery will do that to you, and you won't be able to comfortably hold the thing in your unaided mouth, for instance.

And the $200 price tag is way, way too heavy, by the way. Check this out at $29.99: Kr808d-1 starter kit: kr808d-1 cartomizers, kr808d battery and more! Kr808d-1 kit from LiteCigUSA!

Also, If you can't find any brand of cigarette other than More that you can deal with in terms of taste, you'll have a very large problem finding an e-juice that even comes close. But you may find, if you give them a fair trial, that they're better.

I am not sure about litecig they have zero warranty on their batts and myvapstore has only a 14 day warranty...
smoketip man...get that lifetime warranty trust me batteries are not invulnerable especially automatic ecig ones...you don't have to get your accesories or carts from them but a zero worry (well unless you loose it) ecig battery is awesome sauce.

FYI - if you want to go with the KR808D-1 Vapor 4 Life is having a sale thru 10/29/10. 21% off everything with coupon code "customer". 45 day warranty on their hardware.

I actually like their pre-filled cartos and have ordered their juices to refill mine. Most prefills suck and taste terrible but V4L's don't to me.

I have an EGO that I use most of the day when I am at home but I really enjoy my KR808 at times - it gives off huge vapor! I would recommend the MANUAL battery though - you have to draw pretty hard to get anything out of the automatic.

Hope this helps.

Like you I was a little daunted by all the "jargon" on the forums. Since I didnt want to carry around a dozen batteries all day, I went with the ever popular Ego. I also decided I wanted to go DIY from the beginning so I ordered some supplies. Here is what I got:

From Liberty Flights I got the JOYE - EGO 510 - Standard Bundle, an EGO case, 10 empty 5ml bottles, 5 10ml bottles. $76.10(with coupon)

From Freedom Smokes I got 60ml of 60mg(50/50) smoke Juice, 125ml VG, 125 ml PG, some menthol crystals, 10 pipettes, 3 syringes, 10ml Marbro, and 10 blank cartridges. $62.62(with coupon)

From VaporBomb I got 5ml of the following: Max ultimate menthol, Desert Ship, Harrys Irish cream, Arctic Ice, and bluberry $23.66(with coupon)

Grand Total of $162.38.

That should keep me going for awhile. All the DIY stuff showed up today. Just waiting on the Ego to go from being a smoker to a Vaper

How can anyone provide a lifetime warranty on a battery unless they charge more upfront or get you on the back end? There has never been a battery ever invented to last. Ever. They WILL die, it is a matter of when.

Some will provide that "warranty" providing you "use it is intended" meaning ONLY buying their pre-filled carto's at $15-20 for 5. Well, of course they can provide a "lifetime warranty" . You spend enough on cartomizers to buy 9 more batteries by the time it dies, LOL.

Point being, JOYE does NOT provide a lifetime warranty - nor would anyone. They have to make the cost up another way. Obviously. That would be like having a lifetime warranty on tires.

I have no clue how they do it TheBuss...all I know is my battery broke I mailed it in I got a new one
no receipt no paperwork I just included my return address on a note inside my letter for them to send it to.

maybe my new battery is "refurbished" but it looks like a new battery, I have no idea how they could tell if I used only their carts (which I didn't) or not either...though there carts are available here at the local gas station for 19.99 for 20 (edit:sorry it is 19.99 for 10 not 20) and I HAVE bought them when I was running low on supplies just because it was immediate and still cheaper than analogs. (the menthol from smoketip is ...meh...but it isn't bad it just isn't wow either)

here is the link: http://www.smoketip.com/_pop/article-warranty.html
Here is the exact wording
100% UNCONDITIONAL LIFETIME WARRANTY
Best Warranty on the Planet!

For any reason, at any time, under any circumstance if your SmokeTip battery stops working you get a free replacement - no gimmicks no hassles! You don't even need a receipt! Just mail your SmokeTip battery to:

SmokeTip
PO Box 26332
Collegeville, PA 19426

You will receive a replacement battery within 5 business days (usually sooner). Be sure to include your return address - that's it! All smoketip accessories have a 90 day warranty.
