Am I ready for mods? How to tell?

I'm 3 weeks into vaping and so far content with vaping instead of smoking. I have an x2 volt battery, a couple 78mm, couple x2 clearos, and some cartos. About 9 flavors so far. What am I missing or better yet what am I looking for that would make me want the more expensive setup? Besides a gadget habit, how would it bring me more enjoyment? I'm already thrilled that I'm not smoking analogs. Any insight would be great.

Somewhere out there
I would say when you feel unhappy with your current set up then go to something else, but if you are happy stay with it :) The basic difference for going up grade is getting VV- variable voltage. Also most take replaceable batteries which are much cheaper in the long run to replace. But they, APV's "mods", are bigger and also heavier than what you are using now, so their are trade offs, but when you are really ready you will know because one day you will look at your current set up and say hmmm I need something new! Have fun! bnrk

Get a PROVARI!!! HA just kidding Id skip the twist and Go for a SVD 100$ out the door at Vaporbeast. Grab you a 510 dripping atty a box of carts and the rest is up to you. You can go lots of directions. Genys, RBAs, inbetweens like the Ithaka or Terminator, Carto tanks, clearomizers, vivi novas, The Kayfun is a great concept that Im sure will inspire more like it. There is just so many options and everyone's taste and desire for fiddle factor leaves this question wide open.
Id say go for it most people enjoy trying new stuff.

I have a ego-t (first purchase) a 650 twist, a KGO, a Provari, and a Vamo. I never use the first three anymore unless I'm out and about and want to be a bit stealth.
The thing I don't care for after using mods is I just can't get a big enough hit and, besides the Twist, can't regulate voltage.
So I vape all day with the Vamo and Provari and I can tell you that the Vamo at it's price point does even more than the Provari. The Provari is bulletproof and if I had only one mod that would be it but the Vamo is incredible for the price and also offers variable wattage which I've really come to love.

+1 on the Vamo, for about $40 plus some batts and a charger you can try VV and VW and have a device that will measure the resistance of your accessories. Mods with bigger batteries just plain hit harder and provide more vapor, there's quite a difference between a Vamo and a Volt. I've had both.

Im defiantly a gadget freak. I mean after my vamo I really didn't need anything else. For the price the Vamo rocks. You can get it at vaporbreak.com for $26 or $33 for the kit. The kit comes with two batteries an a cheapo charger that "works" but I wouldnt leave it unattended to long. My shipping took 11 days. You can not beat it! Since my Vamo though I have pulled the trigger on 2 more Mods: A Smoketech telescope (I could have saved my money, although it is working perfectly right now it feels super cheap and I just know the first time I drop it it will break) and just last night I ordered The China GG and some DIY parts cause I just happen to be the kinda guy who will modify a modification to a mod. Now I'm anxiously stalking the mailman! BTW Ive only been Back vaping for 3 months.

As has been stated, if you're thinking about it, you probably are ready.

Just be careful and go slow. I think even with a billionaire's bank account, one should go at a steady but controlled pace, where expenditures never exceed the rate at which you learn about this vaping thing.

I'm 6 months and a little over $2200 into this vaping thing, but I'm coming from having a humidor stocked with cigars and jars and jars of pipe tobacco for my briars - all of which I inhaled. So shortly after getting an eGo-C kit, I started watching videos and reading these forums. I started to see, hear, and read about throat hit (something I could count on my cigars for), and vapour clouds (provided by my pipes when I packed the bowl perfectly), and I knew then there was more that I wanted out of this that I wasn't getting.

Still, I think I exercised some control in only getting one new device with atomizer/cartomizer types to try along with it every month or so. That way I could really get a feel for what I did or didn't like about my most recent purchases before making my next decision and investment.

Whatever you decide, never let your attention divert from what you're trying to find that you aren't already getting. If you're fulfilled as it is, then lucky you! Sit back and enjoy. If not, just do all you can to find out what device(s) are known to satiate your need for what you're missing the most, while gathering every informed opinion you can find before spending the cash.
