Just a suggestion, perhaps it'll work for you, perhaps not. Dark Horse from HHV was the NET that got me off cigs. It's partially a cigarette tobacco mixed with a mild, sweet pipe tobacco. It makes for an interesting blend. I still vape a ton of it to this day. That cigarette tobacco part of it really helped get past the cigs.

Naturally Extracted Tobacco. Instead of a synthetic flavoring, the flavoring is made from real tobacco. Much better flavor, IMO. Some are gunkers, some aren't. Some are very clean, some aren't. Some are delicious... some just so-so.

Personally I prefer HHV. They have a couple of excellent flavors & their extraction process makes for a very clean product. NETCOM used to be pretty good, but he's been going through some issues for the past several months. I wouldn't recommend ordering from him until he gets his stuff back in order. An up & coming small vendor, Cedar Creek Steam Works, is showing a ton of promise as well.

Thanks for the info. I think I'm past the "getting off" part but might want to try some NET stuff just to see what the difference is. I think I'll try some Dark Horse for comparison's sake.

Thanks again[emoji779][emoji779]

I never liked tobacco flavored vape, but recently I did a DIY of M-type tobacco flavor from TFA @ 4%. (I think it's supposed to be similar to marlboro analog flavor?) I'm vaping it now, and it's surprisingly good. Not flavorful, but not yucky. I seem to be treating it more like I did wihen smoking...find a flavor and settle into it.

I still love my Black Licorice best, followed by Blackberry Champagne, but this M-type is in my top 3 today.

I'm still sorta new to vaping,I started in December of 2013 and I usually only vape tobacco juices.I find candy, fruity, really sweet juices get awful for me real quick so much so I'll clean out my protank mini way before it gets empty and they only hold 1.6ml.I don't mind a hint of sweetness, nuttiness or maple in some tobacco juices though.

True. I do inhale cigar smoke. Not like a cig, but still would inhale into the lungs every once in a while. I thought I would never give up cigars. That was the first one in a month that I had. The family was gone. I had a nice cold Guinness Stout and smoked my last cigar while sitting outside next to the pool. There was a slight breeze. Just a wonderful 30 minutes.

I will say this. After smoking a cigar, eliquid flavor is amazing.

I'm not beating you up for indulging in a cigar. If you thought I was you don't need to justify yourself to anyone but yourself. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Otherwise what would be the point of smoking one?

I thought that info might be useful for Dixie, trying to get past the cigs. But Dark Horse is a fantastic vape nonetheless. If you're going to place an order with HHV, I would personally recommend Dark Horse, Legend, Heavenly Army (not Heavenly Tobacco, they're different) & Dragon's Fire. Those are all quite a bit different from each other & IMO delicious. Note that not all of HHV tobacco flavors are NETs, but they do have several of them.

ETA: NETs do require some aging time as well. Dark Horse is probably the quickest out of the bunch, but will improve with more age. Most of them really hit their mark around 4-6 weeks but can improve more beyond that.

Am I the odd man out here? Does liking a tobacco flavored juice after two years seem out of place with what others are doing?
Nope. I'm exclusively tobacco flavor myself but I'm more your age as well and just think us "experienced" :) smokers gravitate to this taste more times than not. That being said, nothing I've vaped (including NET's) has ever tasted like the tobacco I smoked. I'm beginning to think that everything that isn't sweet is merely labeled as such.

I don't abhor sweets, candies or pastries.... just can't vape them for very long at a stretch nor do I really crave them.

Well those didn't make me shudder, but any PM products left an aftertaste in my mouth, and Camels were just a bit off.

I was an unpopular Winston smoker.

Ooooh, I *loved* Winstons, at one time. Had smoked those for nearly 10 yrs, but at the Denny's I worked in, the cig machine (this was in 1984 when cig machines were still everywhere) had NO variety of Winstons, which was just weird IMO, so one night, completely out of cigarettes (PANIC!), I got a pack of full-flavor VA Slims. Ended up staying with the Slims for 30 yrs, all thru the Light and Ultra-Light iterations, as my lungs got worse and worse. So that was the flavor I was looking for, when I started vaping.

MyFreedomSmokes, where I get my Virginia, also has a "W" flavor that I hear is very near to the taste of 'Stones. :D

Hmm... my ability to stay awake all thru the night? I don't do it much anymore, because at my age it can take me a week to get my schedule back to "normal"... but graveyard shift was always a favorite of mine -- very interesting people awake at 4am. :D Especially when the Denny's you work at is right off Atlanta's 'strip strip'... those were some REALLY interesting people!!! :D

You made me look!

I was just gonna put together the tobacco flavor list... I see you figured out all the tobacco flavors - including the menthols - are all in their own "tobacco" section of the flavor list. lol

Whad'ya get :)

I'm not a big menthol person - what they used to call a "switch hitter" when I smoked 'em. (Always snitching a menthol here and there from Sis.) The two menthols I know at TVR at Port Menthol - yum - and the 555 menthol. The 555 is more of a "straight shot" menthol flavor. Very strong. That would be a good candidate for adding into other flavors.

Did you remember to ask for your free 15 ml bottle in the comments on the checkout page?

Don't know where you have been buying but TVR is a step up from the quality level of a place like Mt. Baker. (Nothing against Mt. Baker - just different places.) By comparison the flavor intensity level is stronger. For people who have had "that experience" the flavorings at TVR don't have any fake, off, "perfume" type of problems going on. Hope you like 'em! TVR was one of my first big upgrades in liquids buying several years ago. Not one tobacco flavor there I don't like.

I messed up and looked through the flavor descriptions and of course couldn't find anything because that required that I actually READ all of it - LOL!! Once I went to add to cart...BOOM, there they were - LOL!!
Lookie at all this goodness:
*SALE* 5 Pack 6ML Sampler samplepack 1 15.00 Bottle #1 = Port Menthol
Bottle #2 = TVR Menthol Tobacco
*NEW*
Bottle #3 = Smooth Menthol
Bottle #4 = Port Menthol
Bottle #5 = Smooth Menthol
Flavor Shot = No
Juice Strength = 18mg
PG/VG Ratio = PG 50/VG 50
I went back a step in strength because I am still chain vaping - I may never actually stop that...I got a free 15ml in the comment too - Port Menthol - PG25/VG75 at 24mg - I wanted to try a lower PG due to a little too much throat issues lately - this is AWESOME!!! I can't thank you enough for helping to enable my habit just a little more - LOL!!! I wrote in the comments I was referred to them by you at the ECF forum - I hope they give you a coupon or something :D ((hugs)) ...."c'mon mail - where are you?" I am so impatient - I still have ten bottles and DIY stuff yet - LOL!!!

...When I sent my story in, I placed emphasis on the fact that the flavor options were what helped me make the transition, which is totally the truth. I felt the FDA didn't need to know that I no longer vape those flavors...

I just explained how important it was for me to find flavors I liked (without specifying what they were) and then talking about other things adults like that come in flavors. ;)

I don't buy tobacco flavored juices for two main reasons:

1) Even as a smoker, it wasn't the taste I liked. In fact, if I thought about it much, it tasted terrible.

2) I LOVE the variety now available to me. I can go in any direction from savory to sweet to saucy alcohol drink flavors and have something different all the time. My hubby (non-smoker/vaper) even likes the smell of the fruit vapes. It's like killing two birds with one stone, great taste and nice air freshener. LOL

I started over a year ago on all kinds of desserts and sweets and such but found them cloying and got burned out quickly on all of them. All my adv's are tobaccos. None taste anything like burning tobacco. They are complex like bourbon though (love me some bourbon) so they are hard to get tired of. I mostly mix my own now and hangsen is my go to. I can vape my desert ship and highway recipes for the rest of my life and be happy.

I always have a couple sweets on hand that I really like but I only vape them for half a day tops before going back to my favorite tobaccos. I stopped flavor chasing about 8 months ago. I've been vaping the same 8+/- flavors for months on end. Haven't tried a new flavor in over 4 months. Love it.

It really is weird, how the tobacco flavors really don't taste much like cigarettes at all... at least, not *burning* cigarettes -- they're more like the smell of the cigarette before you lit it! I always noticed, and enjoyed, that complex aroma, running my cigarette under my nose for a good 5 minutes before ever lighting it -- it mystified me, how it could smell so sweet or bitter-sweet, yet not be sweet at all when you finally lit it and inhaled. At least my VA Slims didn't taste sweet at all, though I always found Marlboros much too sweet-tasting, and some other brands too, that don't come to mind; Kent, maybe. I always preferred the bitter tasting cigarettes -- Winstons, and then VA Slims -- to the sweeter-tasting ones. Which is why it was rather difficult to acclimate my tastebuds to vaping, I think, because all vapor is sweeter than cigarette smoke.

I have another tobacco flavor that I'm acquiring a taste for, but it's a deliberate acquisition, because it's a great deal sweeter than I thought I'd ever enjoy -- Long Bottom Leaf pipe sauce. It's very definitely tobacco, and quite smoky smelling/tasting... but I think it really is more like a pipe, than any tobacco that ever came in a cigarette. Notes of chocolate, coffee, vanilla, and behind it that sweet smoky tobacco flavor. It's very interesting, very intriguing, trying to pin down that flavor profile. Really excellent with my nightly cup of cocoa.

Nah won't happen - they're very .... about that referral thing rules and I'm not shilling, looking for that anyway. But the question does come up a lot - people are looking for new places to try that offer samplers or sample sizes. (Some places don't offer sample sizes at all...) As it is, I'm not sure TVR is all that thrilled with me pointing out how to best work that deal - lol.

TVR just happens to be one of those places where if you know "the rules" - or rather what the coupon code is and where to look for the freebie deals as a new customer - you can walk out of there with a good deal as a new customer without breaking the bank. You get to try seven different flavors for $22.00 including shipping, and the trying 7 different flavors for cheap is the important part.

I hate to see the posts from newbies who just jump on a single vendor, order like 30+ different flavors from a place they never tried before, and find out they don't like any of it - for something common to all those liquids. They are picking up in a 'pepper' from the nic they don't like, there is something in the PG or VG base they don't like the taste of, the place is most likely sourcing all their flavorings from the same company... When you try any new place, for better or for worse, there will be common things that cut across all or most of their liquids. The idea is to get in and out cheap with a first time sample order, not to try out the entire product line on the first go.
