Am I the only one who might investigate mechs if they weren't so damn ugly?

I might be missing some context but the Vamo isn't a mech. It's just a mod.

I wrapped mine so I could customize the look and save the finish -

The all metal look of Mechs was weird at first. But then it grew on me and I want one of these.

That's some gorgeous wraps you've got going on there fella.

They pretty much are spare parts, which is why I couldn't ever wrap my head around why some people pay so much money for a glorified, polished bit of pipe. Knockoffs all the way for me.

There's so many options out there now, though. Honestly, if not for the FDA scare back in February I would probably still be happily using my ego styles. That's not to say i dislike the aesthetics of the mechanicals I have (telescope, iseason, and k101) but still.

I like the look of many mechs personally. It's the APVs I don't like the looks of mostly so I don't own any (right now). But I'd buy a bunch of mechs if they weren't so stupidly expensive. I'm not a tinkerer generally so I'm not super comfortable with clones since I read about all the modding that needs to go into making them work properly (some more than others).

If you don't want a tube mod - get a Reo. Mine has been my adv for over a year and still as good as the day i got it. Has a j-wrap cover on it and travels in a phone case on my belt.

It's 5 times the cost of an Ego, but it's a better vape by miles (so every day - it's better) and you will appreciate durability the first time you drop something!

I have 2 nemesis' ... I like simple. A stainless nemmy with a kayfun lite is a beautiful thing. I have some provari's too. Love the look....but the mechs are cooler looking. I guess I really don't care. I can tell you this though, I love guns, but I think the 134 is ridiculous. Many folks love em and I can respect that. They're just not for me. Beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder...for now. However some information was leaked to me from an extremely reliable source. Beginning on January 1 of 2014, everyone on ECF has to approve of your equipment before you're allowed to buy it. So, buy what you like now but next year I'm vetoing everything you like!

To me simple is beautiful. If you're complaining about looks, it's because mechanical mods look, mechanical. They have strange designs and try too hard. To me, the simplicity is wonderful. I think the simple stainless tube with slight design is handsome. I don't like cars that are over designed either. Something that is sleek, elegant and simple wins every time.

You will quickly get bored of something that you hold in your hand every day if it has too much ornamental stuff on it. Simple things that are designed to get the job done are the ones you will never outgrow. Some of the most iconic designs in history basically look like tools built for their purpose, nothing more, nothing less. I could even do without the engravings on some of my most expensive mods.

I like the rough look of the mechs... I like that they look like something you could throw off the roof of a skyscraper if a friend at street lvl needed something to vape on and it would survive... I wonder if it would?... I think some of them would to be honest... With dings and scrapes of course

Most of the ones I've seen look like they were made out of spare parts bought from a steel scrap merchant. Substance over style in every way imaginable and I can see the attraction in that up to a point: durability, they last forever, they won't die anytime soon, you won't be replacing them next week... okay I've run out of mech 'positives'.

I can't help thinking there's a serious case of Emperor's New Clothes with mechs I mean could we not have just a teeny weeny eency bit of style to go with the substance?

I know there are exceptions to this rule but by and large just about every mech that people keep telling newbies they 'must have' looks bloody disastrous.

No, you aren't the only one, I agree with you:0) I would really like something that didn't scream plumber or Dr Who screwdriver or dentist and that had some battery longevity without the need to be so flippin big. And that would go some way to make public use a little less problematic. Seriously, when my mates see what I'm using, I have a lot of explaining to do just because of the dumb way it looks. It's testament to my determination to stay off cigarettes that I put up with it but a design hand would be really appreciated.
