I started this thread just to see if there were others who choose to vape single coils.
No idea why somebody would enter an area, with the TOPIC being single coils, to regale us with big clouds on dual coils, then complain about how everyone here posts off-topic stuff.

Just to tell us how lame we are, apparently. When he said he was leaving, my reaction was a resounding "don't let the door hit you in the... " Well you know. :D

I'm gonna try to be nice here ...but I can't let it slide completely.

(edited)
Love single coil builds myself although I do run some duals. My current favorites are .4 ohm 3 mm single coils using 22 ga Nichrome 80 in my Lemo2s

Quite enough vapor for me thank you.

I know I am certainly admiring my Achilles. Set up on a P2 ProVari, it makes for a good relaxing vape, and one good fill will last the whole Movie !

If Provape made a box mod, they would get my attention. (They would probably get a lot of people's attention.)

Aww, so original too! Lol
But I'm leaving this forum....too many people here who like to argue and debate things why off topic in a vaping format that's irrelevant and not even vape related ...that said, I hear this forum came in dead last in a poll, and I can see why...I know VUF is booming but there is CVF, Vape Faction, etc
among others that are also a very good option to consider...I'm heading that way now and I'll be sure to post my opinions about the type of people on ECF... the bottom of the heap... Lol

I think the ECF defines this as 'Trolling'. which, by the way, is against the guidelines set for personal behavior on this Forum. Perhaps this gentleman (?) would be happier elsewhere.
I could be wrong, but I thought this thread was spot-on topic. We were discussing personal preferences such as coil builds, RDA's, RTA's and RBA's that lend themselves to single coil operation, different coil materials... other than our dear friend 'Smacksy', where did we veer off topic ?

I have heard quite a few nice things about the Lemo's. Can I ask for some pictures of how you set it up ?

I don't think we veered at all, we were just rudely interrupted. :D

Here is a pic posted by someone else but mine are setup essentially the same way and wicked with rayon. The only differences are that my coil is tight not spaced and usually I have a little bit more tail (not a lot however).

I PREFER single coils. Although I do have a couple of dual coils set ups. The flavor in the Derringer is better in dual, but I still keep it in single coil, at least for now. If a rda has dual capability, but runs great in single coil, I am very pleased with that. My two favorite attys are that way. The Magma is in dual coil, but it doesn't feel like it's in dual coil. I prefer a single coil bottom fed atty above all else right now too.

I, too, am a dyed in the wool, single coil kind of guy. I have tried dual coils and twisted coils both. I have found that the additional time it takes to both heat up and cool down the multi-wire coils is not for me. I have also found out that anything over 12.5W makes for an unpleasant vape for me. My latest kick has been top air squonkers, due to the leak proof nature of the top air.

For me personally, Vaping is Freedom from 40 years of Tobacco Use. I breathe better, sleep better, eat better (have extra 30 pounds to back that up) and have more energy and am far more productive thanks to Vaping. Much like the Tobacco Pipes I used to smoke, I am a 'Puffer' or a Mouth-To-Lung Vaper. I enjoy a light, easy vape.
For me personally, Vaping is NOT an Olympic Event, and I really couldn't care less about your 'Cloud Size'. I recently traded a new Reos LP/SP Grand and RM5 for a ProVari P2 and an Original Svoemesto Kayfun just because I really found no enjoyment in dual coils or sub-ohming. It was, for me; too hot, left my throat raw and aggravated my sinus allergies, and changed the way my favorite e-liquids taste. I spent tens of thousands of dollars over the years because I HAD TO SMOKE, and I refuse to vape in a manner I am not totally comfortable with.
I run five Various Reos Mods, four have RM2's and one BF Veritas, and Two ProVaris with Kayfuns. Using either a 5/64 or a 3/32 drill bit, I wrap my own coils. I think I might have a few old pictures.

I am quite comfortable with this vaping style. It wasn't that long ago we were all sucking on drip atomizers and Cartomizers. Which had their own coils in the bottom. Yes, Vaping is still in it's Evolutionary Stage. But sometimes, as I peruse the ECF, I am left to wonder am I the only dinosaur left who is NOT chasing clouds?

As the Title says, Am I the Only One who still Prefers a Single Coil ?

I also prefer a single coil. Less heat of the vape about 75% of the vapor of a dual coil setup, easier build, my juice goes farther

I even putva single horizontal coil in the Veritas when it is designed for double vertical coils.
