Am I the only person who switched from an ego to a Blu?

Ive been vaping with an ego for a couple months and got tired of the taste, feel, and having to hold the button down everytime i used it, I made the mistake of forgetting to turn it off and put it in my pocket and my keys were on the button while i was driving, causing it to fry out. (No explosion, but there was a small fire that burnt the wiring on the inside) So i decided to research some more types of E-cigs that wouldnt go off in my pocket, I found the basic Blu starter kits and read the terrible reviews but decided for the price it wouldnt hurt to try. I have fallen in love with my Blu unit. The way I can charge it in the case no matter where I am and the fact that I know its not going to burn out in my pocket are both great parts of it. I also like the flavors and the clouds it produces. I'm just wondering if i'm the only person who has switched from ego to Blu and actually enjoyed it. Also, I'm glad I finally went ahead and joined the forums after knowing about it for months haha :vapor:

If I could have afforded it I probably would have continued vaping those cigalike types.

If it works for you, then it works period. At least you have a bit of a base if you ever feel the need to take it to a different or more advanced setup. How long have you been using Blu's for? I don't really have any interest in knowing, but just want to point out the fact that you could still change your mind again after a while... or not. There is only one master of yourself and everyone else is just here to present a facet of things that might or might not appeal to you. (Damn, with sentences like that, I gotta get a name like "Confuscius" or "Buddha" or somethin')

I think if it works for you then that's great! Vaping is about what your comfortable with and what keeps you from going back to the nails.*

*Blu is owned by Big Tobacco so if you like the cigalike I would recommend the automatic Halo G6. They have options for refillable cartomizers or mini tanks.

I should mention that I have a collection of mods, tanks, RBAs, RDAs and my everyday setup for work is still a eGo VV battery with a cartotank. Sometimes you just need simple.

Whatever works for you is the right answer.

I will occasionally buy a Blu disposable so that I don't have to carry my ProVari in my carry-on...it can be safely packed in my checked luggage...it helps me deal with the fear that someone will misunderstand the piece of metal tubing in my hand and make me miss my flight! (I have to HOLD a "pacifier" in my hand!). I may not even take a little toot...but it's in my hand...and that's how I cope with the airline without going "postal"!

I am like a flapjack, I keep flipping back and forth between cigalikes and apv/mechs. As stated numerous times, there is no right/wrong experience to have. Blu is an established brand so there are no safety issues that would lead to me saying "no don't use them!!". I prefer Green Smoke cigalikes an often bring them with me to gatherings or public events as they are less conspicuous and easier to carry. At home, work, or in the car, I prefer the more in depth experience of an APV or Mech. Personal preference.... that's it. Also, I would point out that an eGo is not a proper representation of the "non-cig-a-like" population.

Another important point to highlight here is that cig-a-likes are much more expensive to maintain. That being said, there are some excellent articles on here that detail how to get 3-5 uses out of each carto before you have to throw them out. Keep that in mind.

Nope, you're not alone--I have frequently flipped back & forth between egos and cig-alikes as I search for what I like best. But the Blu cartos produce nearly zero vapor. As a solution, I have found Vision Nano clearomizers are a prefect fit for the Blu Premium 100 batteries, and the vapor production is much better than the Blu cartos.

When I first got my blu it was definitely more expensive then my ego haha, until I did some googling and found out you can actually refill the cartos about 5 times before they are trash, now i get about 25 cartos out of the 5 pack and its costing around the same as my ego did

I congratulate you. The fact you are refilling is good news to me and bad news to Blu.

I despise everything about these products. The company behind them (tobaccco), the contempt with which they loom over their customers and take their money. The quality (or lack of it) of the items they sell.

However, if they work for you, that is all that matters. If you are bypassing the financial drain of the 'system' and buying e-liquid (not from a Tobacco company) and basically messing up their greedy business plan... then I can only celebrate on your behalf.

You can buy all the Blu hardware from non-tobacco companies, easy. One can replicate the entire system without giving them a single cent, which would be the best way forward once you need batteries and chargers.

Well done! :)

I started with a blu a few years ago then went back to cigs. I decided to try the new and improved Blu but still did not like it that much so I went straight to an ego which I loved and now to a mod. No cigs since Feb. 2014. My mother uses a Blu and has not gone back to cigs and is also down to 6 mg Nic. So they definitely work for some people.
