I am really new to vaping. I've been using smokeless tobacco for the last ten years and came to the realization I need to change. This past weekend, I went to the local vape store and bought a couple batteries and some clearomizers. I also picked up some 30mg/ml juice. When I got home and started vaping, my head was swimming and started getting a headache. Smokeless tobacco wasn't this bad. So after a few days of headswimming and headaches, I picked up some 24mg/ml juice. Well my head wasn't swimming and my headache really toned down. Still concerned, I picked up some 18mg/ml juice. It was really nice and I felt good. Obviously, I used too strong of a juice. But with the 18mg/ml juice, I'm sucking the mouthpiece like a baby to a pacifier. I used 1.6ml of juice today at work and still want more. My question is: Is the 18 mg/ml juice to weak? Should I use 24 mg/ml and live with the effects it has on me? Just trying to make sure this change works out for me. Thanks for any advice I can get.

I think your biggest problem is your body is still looking for that spike in nicotine levels that you got from snuff and don't get with vaping. While you may actually be getting more nicotine vaping, it's a more steady delivery, no spike so, your body may think it doesn't have enough.

It sounds like 18mg is fine for you since higher causes nicotine overdose symptoms. 1.6 mils in 8 hours is not bad, average is 2-5 mils per day for most of us

You have also lost the alkaloids and other myriad of chemicals in snuff so, yes, you may have mild to moderate cravings for it for a while, and you were used to it being in your mouth for several minutes, longer than it takes for a decent vape sesion so, you're used to an almost constant low dose of nicotine.

Don't worry if you basically chain vape for a few months, as your body adjust to the new way of getting nicotine, you'll find it easier not to vape as much.

I chain vaped at first too, now I leave my PV home for a two hour trip to go grocery shopping, no big deal, just don't nee it and, why worry over where it is, dropping it or anything else?

What you can do is mostly use the 18 mg juice, but keep some 24 mg around for when you really have a craving. That way you aren't vaping at that higher level all day long. I stayed with 24 mg for a couple years and have just recently stepped down to 18 mg. I didn't experience any issues with the higher nic level though. Since I make my own juice I don't keep very good track of how much I use in a day, but I don't think 1.6 ml is really all that much. Bottom line, vaping is something you have to experiment with to find the right nic level(s) for you.

Totally agree. Add one more thing. Many vapers use a slightly higher nic in the morning, and many use a slightly lower nic at night. Your body will tell you what you can handle. Listen to it. Welcome and congrats.

Head spinning and headaches, yeah, that's too high. I was a heavy smoker and I have to be careful with even 18. Doesn't give me headaches but if I vape it in the evenings, I'm wide awake for hours.

No, don't just "live with it". For one thing, 1.6ml over a work day isn't "a lot". If it is, somebody's gonna have to come cart me off to a "rehab" or something. I figure I'm doing 5 to 7ml per day. Somewhere in there. I'm a fairly heavy vaper.

(For one, I dropped my nic below 12 so I could vape a lot. Because I like it. :) )

It is in no way unusual for somebody who's just switched to vaping to "chain vape". We get tons and tons of worried new folk thinking something's wrong with them because they can't seem to "get enough". It's pretty normal.

I think a lot of it has to do with adjusting to this new "delivery" system. You have habits built up over however long you used the other tobacco. Then, suddenly, you switch the way you get your nicotine. I think there's an adjustment period. A "settling in". Most people seem to level off over time. Or do like me and consciously choose to vape a lot because they enjoy it and just want to.

Since you say:

I picked up some 18mg/ml juice. It was really nice and I felt good.

Then good. Run with it. Give yourself some time to settle in and figure out what works best for you personally. 1.6ml in a work day just ain't that much. :)
