I find that it depends. At work, where I can't vape as much, it is higher. In front of the TV with my vaporizer in my hand, it needed to be much lower.

Back in the day, I had 6-7 tanks running with different flavors. I rotated a lot. But, I decided that one tank would be for TV watching and put a lower nic juice in it. But, when I wake up in the morning, I wanted a stronger nic so a tank got a higher nic juice.

7.5mg is not high at all. There is also the consideration of how you vape. Experiment and just go with what works for you.

Any pg and I experience a dried out burning feeling.
Im better with it than I was though. I can at least use pg a little bit now with out getting red blotches on my cheeks and forehead.
I dont think 7.5mg is a lot if you mtl but might hit a bit hard DL. Just experiment and find your balance with it.

Edit: I pretty much just said what @Frenchfry1942 said, sorry.

I've never heard of nicotine causing issues with the tongue. It does cause throat hit - that catch at the back of your throat when you inhale.

How high your nic concentration should be partly depends on what coils you're using and the watts you're vaping at, but it mostly depends on what your body is telling you. The usual symptoms of too much nicotine are dizziness, nausea and headache, although some people also feel that their heart is racing. Cutting back after the dizziness was a good call. The good news is that it's hard overdose dangerously on nicotine by vaping. It takes effect so quickly when it's inhaled that most people feel too miserably ill to keep vaping long enough to harm themselves. Just stop vaping if you get too much and you should feel better in about 20 minutes, and slow things down when you start up again.

Does the juice you're vaping affect the burned feeling? Some people are sensitive to some of the ingredients in ejuice. It could be PG or some of the flavours in certain juices. It's probably not the VG since that sensitivity usually results in chest or breathing symptoms. You might try experimenting with different juices to see if you can narrow down a cause. If you think it might be PG, try vaping just VG with nicotine - you can dilute it with 1 - 5% distilled water to help it wick properly.

Good luck!

Hi
It's not really "Am I vaping a lot of nicotine" (that is totally subjective.) You need to be looking at the right amount for YOU which is totally subjective.

It sounds like you might have some nicotine overload symptoms but that feeling could also be caused by PG, flavors, or even bad nic.

However, I would continue playing around with it untl you reach the right nic and PG level for you.

One of the great benefits of vaping is the power you have to control your nicotine intake. Where you had so little control when smoking.
Get some 6mg juice, if you find yourself vaping a lot. But sometimes, I like to keep a stronger juice, and take less frequent hits, like when my throat is irritated, or when I'm in a work situation that limits my vaping.

And a hint I give to many "noobs". After you take a hit, put the mod down. Let go of it. Take the next hit when you want it, and not just reflex because it's in your hand.

Best of luck.

I started vaping at 24mg nic strength 10 years ago. 24mg is good for getting off the cigs, but it's easy to taper down over time to a much lower nic strength. I'm at 3mg nic and have been for a few years. Of course, it's easy to vape more juice at lower nic strengths to satisfy the body's need for nic. I tapered down to 0 nic for a while and found myself missing the nic hit, so I went back to 3mg and was happy with the light nic bite.

I've been wondering lately if I should increase the nic strength and vape less. It would be nice to go from two 4ml tanks a day down to one or less. I'd like to be able to vape like I smoked instead of constantly vaping every few minutes.

Anyone tried higher nic after a long period of low nic juice? How did that work out?

When i started vaping i started with 6mg then went down to 3mg and i've been there ever since.

But my last DIY purchase i wanted to try 6mg again and yeah it wasn't pretty.
I really noticed the difference, grabbed the 6mg batch and mixed it with some 3mg i had leftover.

Seems my sweetspot is 3mg nic, don't usually vape at high wattage, between 28w and 36w.

Guess i'm one of the lucky ones,i see people using high nic to quit smoking but 6mg to get me to stop smoking was enough for me,then down to 3mg and i'm pretty much set for now.

Some people smoke because of anxiety like myself for example,so 3mg nic is more than enough for me.
Don't vape every 5 minutes, just depends what i'm doing,at home chilling maybe 20 minutes go by if i don't vape.
If im at the hospital with my pops and sneak out for a quick vape i chain vape the hell out of my mod hehe

November 18th will be exactly 2 years without a cig, pretty proud of that.

P.S: did smoke once, bad break up+lots of tequila shots+dead battery in my mod=me buying a pack of cigs, never again thou.

I have played around with nic levels.
I was at 3mg for quite a while then cranked it up to 12mg. I went from 3-4ml a day to 1.5ml a day but over the course of a month I just vaped more until I got up to about 3ml again.
I took 10days off nicotine and came back at 4mg again.
Its always the same for me, regardless of mg I always end up back at 3-4ml a day.
I go nic free every 10 to 14 days and every 3 to 4 months I take 10-14 days nic free. Just keeps my tolerance down and its surprisingly easy to do for me.

Nicotine causes blood vessels to contract for a while after a nic hit. That's fine if you're young and have wide open blood vessels. For those of us who are over 65 it's very noticeable.

The down side of vaping high nic is that you get used to it and begin to vape a little more over time. It's how we went from a pack a day to two packs a day when we smoked tobacco cigarettes.

I'm curious @DaveP . When you say noticeable, what do you mean exactly? I've never noticed my vessels contracting.

@newyork13, Do you remember when you smoked your first cigarette and felt kind of a chill or strange feeling and your ears were ringing? I do. I was about 14. We were really susceptible to changes when all our parts were young and we first smoked. I got dizzy.

OK, I get that. But, are you saying that it's very noticeable in you now?
Which is what I first asked. I vape 12mg and vape throughout the day and don't feel any vessels contracting. I don't feel much nic at all. Not much of a buzz at all. Just enjoy the experience/sensation.

In general, I judge it by the nic strength (mg/ml) times how many ml of juice you vape a day. So let's say yo vape 7.5 mg nic X 10 ml per day... that's 75 mg nic per day (not a huge amount but significant... whatever that means) Many people vape over 100 mg a day (could be high nic levels but not so many ml or low nic levels but chain vaping many ml a day) Still... better than smoking... do what it takes to stay off the nasties (I have recently "slipped" back into smoking but I still vape... can't even guess my current nic intake but it too much for sure!) Maybe the biggest concern with nicotine is high blood pressure. Hope this helps.

I don't think 7.5mg is that much at only 10ml per day. Some people consume way more than that with no problems. That said, it depends on the individual.

Some Most people can drink me under the table, for instance.
