Do some research into the "Fuhattan." It's a manhattan clone made by the same machinist who broke away from ameravapes. The story is pretty funny. Even the vapor royalty clone o the manhattan is better. Not to mention I've seen SVD clones worm better than real SVDs.(firing button issue)
I've seen magma, plume veil and trident clones that were better quality than the authentics. I'm not saying every clone is better, but authentics aren't 100% perfect all the time either. Unless you go with a Provari(which is a great idea) you normally get little to no warranty and when the authentic fails you just blew 200 on a paperweight.

I've never seen a clone SVD. Where did you run into those?

Some, but not all, authentic makers, offer replacement parts and some offer warranties (Super-T for example offers a lifetime warranty).

USA. State: Inebriated.
Also, wouldn't having to verify that each entrant was using an "authentic" mod be a nightmare? Some of them are pretty hard to tell.

Actually yeah, I was thinking about this too. A majority of clones are really near-impossible to tell unless you had the authentic readily available to compare.

Yeah, I was wondering that as well. I've never seen any kind of reliable accounts of SVD clones existing. In fact, before DNA 20/30 clone boards there weren't many, if any, clones of regulated mode. Or am I wrong?

Aside from that, different people use different definitions of a clone.
Some insist that the kebo russian is a clone of the svoemaesto kayfun.

Some people are right.

IMO, it only enjoys a reputation as a non-clone because Kebo was smart enough to charge more money for it then the other kayfun clone manufacturers.

I believe with the exception of the center pin and insulator, all the parts are interchangeable.

They donated some gifts to use as prizes in a Ohio cloud contest, then tell the shop owner that only authentics are allowed to enter any contest that uses their items as prizes.

Has anyone seen anything that confirms this? Unless my Google-fu has left the building, no one else has written about it anywhere else on the net that counts.

Ryedan, I have met Stringplucker personally, as in, face to face. As a person who met the man, I can vouch that this most likely is true, and I doubt he'd make up something like this,

I remember when I made a post that the FBI came into my work to look at mods and ego batteries. While at the time I thought they were FBI, I later found out they were the Dayton Bomb Squad, as were other local agencies dealing with the TSA. People called me out. It didn't make it any less true.

I understand your comment, though. But I am going to give Stringplucker the benefit of the doubt. But I would also like corroboration. I did a little bit of Google Fu myself and it seems like Ameravape polarizes people.

Stringplucker, what store in Dayton was it? PM me as it might not be kosher to name names on the Forum.

Your inbox has exceeded it's limit. Dayton Ohio Vapors and Local Vape shops on FB is where the discussion on it is. I won't use the store's full name, but their initials are VH...you know there is only one store in the Dayton area with those initials, so you'll figure it out.

As it stands, the owner is forced to operate two classes in the cloud contest...clones and authentics. I don't believe that the Ameravape prizes will be allowed to be given out in the clone class due to Ameravape demands.

I've told the owner that it most likely means the atty must be authentic as well, and that they will need to completely check all items, because Ameravape is a lawsuit happy company.
