Seems like they are ...... no matter what they do.

They donated some gifts to use as prizes in a Ohio cloud contest, then tell the shop owner that only authentics are allowed to enter any contest that uses their items as prizes.

What a bunch of crap. "Sure...here, take out items as prizes, but you have to take out about 90% of the contest entrants because their too poor for authentics."

I told the owner that I'd package the prizes back up and send them back. We all know that there are some clones out there that are better than the authentics, at a fraction of the authentic cost...my Tobeco copper Mutant is one of them. It has vent holes that the authentic should have had, but didn't. There are also instances of some clones having better switches than authentic.

To deny those that can't afford the high dollar that authentics demand is insane.

This kind of isolationist thinking is going to be the doom for Ameravape...I not only refuse to buy their product, but I will refuse to buy the clones of their product because I refuse to use their design.

I agree completely. Some clones are made much better than their authentic counterparts. The Manhatten by Ameravape being one. Its rubbish that so much discrimination is going throughout the vape community. If you have any APV that works for you regardless of authenticity, then that should be enough. Next people are going to start crying because "they copied my coil build."

Which clone is better than the original? I like the look of the Manhattan, but don't want to support Ameravape. Their elitist way of thinking and scare tactics really bother me.

They posted a picture of some guy who blew off his hand (probably not even from vaping) on their Instagram, and said, "This is what happens when you don't use authentic mods!" -- PLEASE. Stop fear-mongering and just make a good product that stands on it's own without you trashing imitators. If your authentic product is truly as good as you say it is, it'll speak for itself, and people won't be interested in the clones.

I can see both sides of the argument, I really can, but as a average to low income person I see nothing at all wrong with clones. This might rub many people the wrong way but keep in mind, this is MY opinion. As a person who vapes and uses RBAS 100% of the time, a clone allows me to enjoy a.expirence I might not other wise be able to afford. To tell people they can not enter a contest if they are using a clone is absolutely ridiculous in my opinion..!! This whole clone war has gone too far. Just because a person can't afford to purchase a 250. Dollars rba does not mean they should be left out of the Contests. I think that's sad.

Do some research into the "Fuhattan." It's a manhattan clone made by the same machinist who broke away from ameravapes. The story is pretty funny. Even the vapor royalty clone o the manhattan is better. Not to mention I've seen SVD clones worm better than real SVDs.(firing button issue)
I've seen magma, plume veil and trident clones that were better quality than the authentics. I'm not saying every clone is better, but authentics aren't 100% perfect all the time either. Unless you go with a Provari(which is a great idea) you normally get little to no warranty and when the authentic fails you just blew 200 on a paperweight.

Mods don't just blow up by themselves. I would much rather have the vaper next to me using a clone anything with a VTC4/5 than an expensive mod and crappy no-name batteries. That's where safety should begin.

To the OP, I bought an FUhattan just because AV were being such buttheads. It's actually one of my best performing mods.

I Don't see what the Problem is?

I tell some Shop that I will provide Prizes to some Cloud Contest as long as the Contestants Uses Authentic Hardware.

If the Shop agrees with this, Great. Do It. If the Shop Doesn't agree with this, Great. Don't Do It.

Where's the Problem?

problem is they didnt tell the shop until the shop already had the prizes. so the shop had to mail the prizes back.

My only problem with the manhattan and its clones is that they don't lock the firing button. So not very out and about friendly.

i have a clone. the magnet is so strong you really dont need to lock it. although i will admit that if im building on it and i forget to take the battery out i get a little singe on a finger tip every time hahaha

Lol those aren't "authentic" fuhattans. They are clones of a clone. Look at the end caps of the Fuhattan, it should say "1:1 Clone" or something like that. Or google Fuhattan by Ameraclone.

Done some Googling, having a pretty hard time finding anything other than the copper version, which I'm not really interested in.

Anyone know of any sites selling the "authentic" (lol) Fuhattan by Ameraclone?

I hear ya brother.

I wanted to enter a NASCAR race and all I got was a bunch of mumbo-jumbo about needing special cars, safety gear, blah, blah, blah.

I took my Prius and went home.

Thing that doesn't work about this example is that I can take a clone (or a Prius) and get the same performance out of it as an authentic (or Nascar). This example would be better if you were referring to trying to enter a CE4 in a cloud comp.

I have two manhattan clones. And while the magnet is fairly strong in both, I have still had the occasional misfire if I'm not careful.

I guess I understand what is Going On?

When did the OEM tell the Shop that Only Authentics could be Used. Before or After the Shop announced the Contest?
