Thanks for the replies. I tinkered with it a bit more last night and with it tightened down all the way. it still misbehaves. Going to pick up a small o-ring/washer tonight to put inbetween the positive and bottom part of the atty to keep it from shifting around. Will report back with some pics of the process and results.

Anyone know where I can get a replacement tank for my Chybrid? Didn't have it more than a few days before the glass mysteriously cracked...which makes me think that there might have been a flaw in the manufacture of the tube. I sent 101vape a message, and am waiting on a response.

Regardless, I liked the unit well enough to be pretty bent about it, and would be willing to pay for a new tank.

I just bought some of the SS rope from TSC the other day and finally got around to putting some in the iChybrid. I have to say I really like this stuff.

I feel like this was covered earlier in the thread.....but I'll ask again because my search of it turned up frootless....

Anyway. I'm finding that I'm having to push the button in pretty darn hard to get a good connection. The only modification I've done is adding the shim under the little plastic E-clip to shorten the throw. Do I need to disassemble the atty and try to push the pin down a little bit more? Or is my problem maybe somewhere else? I'm using flat-top batteries, if that makes any difference. I don't have any button-top 18350s to try. Yet.

I know it's not exactly kosher to reply to one's self, but I'm still kinda stuck with the problem I talked about.

I've noticed that there's a "sweet spot" on the button that changes every time I put in a fresh battery. I think that small contact pin is my problem. Has anyone found/figured out a replacement? Something with the same internal diameter but wider at the top? Or am I troubleshooting this all wrong?

Halp?!

I just finished this mod to mine. I took the positive post that screws into the collar and cut half the threads off of it. Like in the picture below. I now no longer have to use that crappy small screw that holds the positive wire from the coil. It is now a very solid screw.

Original length:

Cut half the threads off:

The screw I used was one from an AGA-T2. I had to cut it in half also to be able to screw all the way into the collar.

And here is a pic of how the positive post is setup.

I also used one of those plastic insulators from ebay. I had to grind down the outer edge so it would fit up and into the hole in the bottom of the battery tube if that makes sense. Now I no longer have any problem with the positive post "floating." It stays where it is at as the plastic insulator does not allow any movement so once you tighten up the collar on the top, it won't go anywhere. In the pics of the positive post, I showed the new plastic insulator on the post and the old rubber one next to it.
