It is CNN for pity sakes. They couldn't tell the truth if thier own lives depended on it..........they are the definition of fake news.
CNN's new agenda is trying to say that calling them fake news is the equivalent of calling someone a racial slur....

It's hilarious....

First, I don't agree with these reports, that should be obvious.

What we need to get over is this whole, they didn't fact check, this is fake news, etc. thing. You know what. If you didn't know the truth about vaping, chances are you'd believe this too. Let's take a look at what we have here. We have a survey study about behavior, and guess what, within the confines of the survey, it showed exactly what they said it showed, some teens who vape are dripping. So CNN crafts a story around this, and they say, teens are dripping, what is dripping? So their science people look for information on this, and they FIND a study about this very thing. They find a study that says "dripping" in a clinical environment can result in higher VOC's than "regular" vaping.

We know that study is crap, but we know it from real world experience and from reading the one or two scientists that dare to contradict the rest.

Now, was this whole story about dripping designed to fool people? I don't know, if so, who is the designer? Is it CNN, is it the survey scientist, the scientist who tested "dripping," the NIH?

Knowing the truth isn't enough anymore. You have to get the truth out there, and you have to get people to believe it.

Either it was crafted by someone else with a motive or media outlets are that lazy on their copy-pasta. It was first a freelance text piece on cnn.com, then boom 30 second spots everywhere.
Both. It used to be that there were journalists, and their careers depended on their reputation and integrity. Now anyone can write a story, no one knows the reporters names, and any story that gets enough clicks gets repeated.

Isn't that what So Much of the "News" has become? Mouse Clicks. And How to get More of them?

Sensationalized Stories = Mouse Clicks
More Clicks = Bigger Ad Dollars
Bigger Ad Dollars = Bigger Profits

ergo: Sensationalized Stories = Bigger Profits

First off, CNN has done this countless times with much larger more important stories. They must be accountable and have countless videos proving they ignore facts if they don't fit their narrative. CNN is not alone in this and not excused.

It's your job to get facts and give them as a journalists....

Now if after you've given all the facts you want to put your spin on it, fine...

Omitting facts and speculating while putting your own spin on things is obnoxiously dishonest...

Do you dispute that there is a survey that shows that some teens who are vaping are dripping? Do you dispute that there's a study that showed higher levels of VOC's when dripping?

You and I both know that dripping isn't more harmful than tank vaping. That's not the point.

I get your point of getting the facts out there. We have how many vape associations with science backing them up and ZERO media outlets have picked it up. A billion lives(yay another premiere Kazakhstan),casaa, I've signed a dozen petitions...still we get these stories. Vaping isn't fringe anymore so ignorant, click-bait articles like this are inexcusable.

CNN shouldn't be allowed to be called news anymore. Sorry if I came off wrong. Tired of the lack of accountability in the media. Especially CNN. Large portion of the population still takes the news at their word which makes getting the initial story correct all the more important. There's a responsibility there and as such, accountability...
