THC oil has a problem with pesticides to begin with, even at some dispensaries, because the regulations vary, I think from county to county. Many dispensaries really do make it a point to get it down to the "safe" level, but my point here is that it's already inherent in the oil, because the plants are so heavily sprayed. But because it's oil, it can't be mixed with regular eliquid because regular eliquid is not oil. It's a water soluble liquid. We learned this in grade school, water and oil don't mix! I realize people think it's oil because it looks and feels like it, and vegetable glycerin is even a byproduct of vegetable oil, mostly coconut or palm kernel oil, but it's actually a sugar alcohol, which is not the same as oil. And the other 3 ingredients in eliquid isn't oil either, the PG, flavoring, and nicotine. And besides the "chemical burns" these doctors are talking about, which I believe are things like the antifungal myclobutanil, present in the pesticide, that turns to hydrogen cyanide gas when heated, the second illness is lipoid pneumonia. Let's talk about that. Lipoid pneumonia is caused by inhaling lipid (fatty) particles that come from fat soluble oil like vitamin E acetate, which we know has been found in the THC carts. It coats the inside of the lungs like grease, or so I've heard from doctors, but the key point here is again - it can't be mixed with regular eliquid (water soluble remember?) - The politicians, doctors, and so-called health experts seem to be either missing this or deliberately avoiding it. I believe they're conflating the two, the oils based carts that can contain THC, and regular, water soluble eliquid, and I believe they're conflating the problems, teen vaping and vaping illnesses, and I believe they're doing it intentionally. It muddies the water, creates confusion among the public, creates doubt about the safety of vaping in the public eye, thereby garnering support for their political agenda.
