As I mentioned in a thread yesterday, we decided to give away not only the promised ONE free order, but THREE free orders from my 3rd vape-iversary sale!!

And those lucky winners, chosen by Research Randomizer: Free Random Sampling and Random Assignment, are:

Order numbers 23357, 23292, and 23342!!

Credit card charges for the lucky three will be reversed by our CS department, and e-mail notices will be sent.

Congratulations!

I used to work at a retail place. We had a big grand-opening of our new store gala, food, discounts, giveaways. We asked customers to place their business cards in a large bowl to be selected for some pretty nice prizes, some worth ~$500. We drew the names after closing...

So, we went through and tossed any name we didn't recognize, and gave all the prizes to our loyal customers. The biggest prize went to a guy who was there just about ever day and spent a lot of money for his company.

Just sayin... :p

I know, but the owner wanted to show his appreciation to the people who actually spend money with his company, instead of the people who wandered in because there were huge signs outside announcing the event.

I can see the logic in that. What might have been a bit more fair would be to mix it up... 2 loyal / 1 new or vicy versy

It wasn't me...I ordered late maybe after the numbers were picked.

I wish I could have ordered sooner, because almost everything was gone...but spent about $300 last week getting started and snagging supplies. I had to make sure what mg of Reds the hubby wanted and he got home late. It's all good.

Speaking of rules, I worked a drawing like this once and we put loyals in one lot and new orders in another and drew one from each that way we were sure to be able to reward a long time customer.

It would be nice to have a place in your database to add our forum nickname(s) And there really should be a comment line on the order form, imho.

I was hoping for a forum post of "winner winner, chicken dinner" =D

No matter how it was done, it was really fun to be able to have a change at free! Thanks Mike, Red, Leaford!

I can see it both ways.

Is it fair for a person who just wondered in, bought nothing, has no real interest in the store or its merchandise to put his card in and win? Yeah the person who won might be excited because they won but the retailer doesn't win in that scenario and the customers who could have benefited didn't win either.

On the other hand, if you state in the rules that it is a random drawing then you have to follow them. I mean, otherwise it is both unethical and illegal.

I can't fault the store owner for what he did and why. Not sure if I would have done the same thing.

I was at the IRCE in Orlando a few years back and I won a Wii. I tried to tell them that I wouldn't take it. I happened to get a hole in one on a Tiger Woods golf game they had set up in their booth on the last day of the convention. I was passing the time and they were bored and without a winner. I explained before I played and after that I couldn't use their product. But they insisted I play and that I keep the Wii. I felt bad for them. That Wii going to a customer would have had far more value to them.
