Update starting on Christmas actually....

On Christmas Eve I was irritable and had chills on and off all day. Still hacking and thought oh boy they were all right and was making a note to make an appointment to see my doc for the flu on Monday (today). Made it through dinner and had a headache hit me. I can't remember the last time a headache! Went to bed early still irritable. I yelled at people on TV.
Christmas morning was much better. I was felling better and in good spirits as my wife did our Presents. My LL Bean slippers for her were a big hit. Chills hit in the afternoon and stayed till I went to bed. No fever or sweats these 2 days so far. No headache either thank god. Still coughing up soup that existed at the beginning of time. Still have light chills now at night, some flannel and I am good. Light pressure in the forehead but in good spirits (even after having a honey do list today!).
Over all to this minute I feel better but wore out and tired. Was depressed and irritable but better now. Chills are getting better, I can wrap up and feel warm.
I plan to keep a running score till I feel "normal" no matter how long it takes so that we can hopefully glean something from what I experience.

Chills are back today. Talked to my doc... I don't have the flu. He is in agreement with me, this is detox. I do have another health issue we are watching. I have autoimmune Hepatitis, It is an autoimmune disease very much like Lupus but targets my liver. Damn near killed me a couple of years ago. Since dropping analogs that condition has improved, I still take meds for it but much more mild in dosage then I was.
So besides my ongoing immune problem which has improved in a short time, I have no other health issues at this time to attribute to how I feel. The only other change in my life has been dropping the analogs.

Airbrusher - still thinking of you... post an update if you can. I hope you begin reaping the benefits of quitting and outlast these other nasty symptoms you're experiencing. Good luck to you.
Anyone know if mild to moderate dehydration could cause similar symptoms... just a thought since that seems to be the biggest problem for new vapers... not getting enough water.

Thanks Infernia. I have upped my water intake along with my alcohol intake and eggnog intake and candy intake..what the hell it's the holidays ;). Still have light chills on and off, sticking hacking but feel in much better spirits.
Down to one Batt, have 2 on order with more juice so I have had 1/4 of one roll my own analog which is HORRIBLE in taste and lung feeling. I should be back on Vape again tomorrow. This time I ordered extra so I can get a little bit ahead. Didn't want to hit the organics again but glad I kept the little I have left. I didn't panic or get stressed because I know I am well on my way to not even wanting them anymore. Was funny, I did everything else to get by, but I forgot I had the tobacco out in the garage, didn't even cross my mind. When I lit up It was with the feeling that it was a hold over for what I want now. Never felt stressed or anything. Mailman better watch his back!! I am stalking;).

Sounds like you are well on your way to quitting. How is the 50/50 juice treating you? That's the only kind I can vape at this point. Kind of sad I wasted a bunch of money on other mixes but I will use it to convert other smokers or for the Just In Case times.
I had a few issues with chills in the beginning but wasn't sure if it was a cold or if I was dehydrating. Now I just fill up my old Hardees 32oz Moose cups with water and make sure to get at least 2 of em downed per day.
Funny how a cigarette so quickly tastes soooooo bad. Like the smell of used kitty litter/ horse pee/ and burned plastic. Hope your mailman comes soon. I stalk them all the time... keeps them on their toes. :)

Airbrusher, don't give up... I too started with a 510...luckily I bought an extra charger because the first one died...then one of my batteries also gave up the ghost...I'm skimping by on bare minimums...it's not easy! I see you're in Garden Grove, CA...maybe someone nearby can share some juice with you. When I posted about my battery/juice issue on the REO thread, so many came to my rescue- offering to lend my devices, batteries...one guy even sent me some juice. Now, I too am waiting on the mail man- tomorrow at the earliest.... We'll limp through all of this somehow! Just don't give up!!

I haven't smoked since 2 days before xmas, and I just recently caught a nasty cold. I took some mucinex today and the color of the stuff I have been coughing up is nothing I have ever seen before. I have been sicker than this (respitory wise) while on butts and have never seen things this color or this rich in body and texture.

Good advice to go to the doctor though. For most substances, withdrawal symptons typically last a week. Methadone and some other drugs can last months. I think nicotine is a week on the physical symptons... Years on the mental.

Thanks for adding in.

Been a week or so since my last update. I have been lucky to not have the flu that's starting to hit my area. All my symptoms are gone except the coughing part. I still have a good amount of muck coming up. The other morning in the shower which was very steaming, I coughed sooo hard I had to grab the hand cloth hanger to keep from falling over. It was one one short, quick, very sharp cough that made my legs hurt lol. I had a gulp of steam when it happened. Really through me for a loop.
Still feeling the malaise and a funny feeling like something is missing. I sometimes wonder through the house but can't figure it out.
I feel a ton better. I tasted cracked red pepper today when I was making dinner for my wife and me and it burned like hell... that was a first.

Well all things considered I am feeling well. I am not shivering or depressed anymore. I am still coughing but prolly will be for a while to come yet.
I am breathing much better now.
Taste buds coming back but not sure how much LOL, I have nothing that I remember to compare it too.
My blood pressure is up but when I pacify with 24mg that will happen.
My Doc shook my hand and said good job.
I haven't had a smoke in almost 2 months.
Queensryche still rocks.

Yeah, I did that for almost three months the last time I quit (made it 6 months, then started again). It hasn't started yet, and I don't know how much it'll be. I've "only" smoke for five years since that 6 month quit, so maybe I don't have as much garbage to get rid of this time around.

How long after stopping analogs did you guys have these symptoms. I've been off almost 11 days, and have had no disagreeable symptoms. Of course, I've been vaping my head off!!! Could somebody give me a heads up as to when all of this starts to happen?

I haven't started yet, although I expect it any time now. Like some in here, the last time it was triggered by a minor cold. The cold left, but the cough didn't, and I started hawking up the most evil looking stuff I'd ever seen. It continued for several weeks, but my lungs felt better and better the whole time I did it.

Confession time: when I lit up that first cigarette after six months, I pictured all that nasty smoke going down into my newly pink, healthy lungs and thought WTF am I doing to myself?!? But I still smoked it, and I kept lighting them up, until I got my PV.

When I first started vaping took me about a week to get off the analogs. The last one was 2 drags and I had to put it out. Horrible tasting and my mouth and throat were coated with whatever comes out of a burning marl red. I couldn't do it. I wasn't even looking to quit, just something to thin out how much I was spending on ciggies.

I had to take our barrels out today for trash pick up tomorrow and I like to have gagged... maybe sense of smell is not all it's cracked up to be...
