Just the very title of the study is telling. Cancer patients who smoke? They are obviously suicidal people to begin with (and perhaps some unfortunately ones are beyond any benefit to be had from quitting). While I can sympathise with people who can't quit smoking even though they know they might get cancer, those that HAVE cancer and continue to smoke cigarettes are an unusual group to begin with.

I never looked at vaping as a way to quit smoking, I only thought it would help me cut back as I used to enjoy smoking and long since realized that I was probably never going to be able to quit. I looked at vaping as a way to reduce smoking (and therefore reduce harm and expense), turns out I enjoy vaping more than smoking so have no plans to quit vaping and now no plans to ever smoke again :)

So I did cut back my smoking to zero (a surprise to me), and now I can still enjoy vaping and really didn't enjoy the last cigarette I had, in fact it tasted awful and made me sick so I don't know why I would ever smoke again.

Even if vaping never is proven to help people quit in any way (silly I know given the number of non-smokers here) it's still a good thing as while you are vaping you are not smoking.

Like many here I have helped convert quite a few smokers to being non-smokers but I never advocate vaping as a way to quit smoking, just a healthier (and even more convenient way to enjoy smoking) and if someone takes to it they do the quitting without even trying or any encouragement.

Too little information, to even contemplate. Why it even counts as a story is questionalble? I can say that if these people were offered ecig it would have been an accepted form of ecig, think Blue, and if thats the situation they were duped ! Very few people manage to stop smoking on these devices, they may cut down but to switch it takes much more customizable Vape gear! So this study, or article, or what ever it is, was doomed from the get go. They set these folks up to fail and knew it! Give them 1 hr and someone who has some knowlege on the subject with any juices they choose and in 2 weeks or less these same folks will be smoke free, at the very least down to 1-5 analogs per day. Hey out there in Reserch Land let a few of us try!! :D
