Hello everyone :)

I am relatively new to vaping, but not new enough that I have a big box full of pre-made juice I have purchased from various vendors that sounded good to me but didn't live up to what I wanted taste wise. I know an all too common experience and taste is very subjective. But, not only have my tastebuds taken a hit but so has my poor wallet.

Have been reading threads here avidly for a few weeks, for tips and instructions for DIY. I finally feel I would be comfortable handling nicotine, and have a very healthy respect for it.

Have been looking into getting started and ordering my first supplies and flavorings tomorrow on payday.

Any opinions/suggestions would be appreciated on what I am planning on getting from the more experienced.

I am thinking of ordering the DIY One Stop Artisans Master Kit, 7 flavors I would like to try and that compliment each other, along with a sweetener. Going to order 48 mg for $4.00 more because I am currently struggling to stay vaping and vape usually 24-30 mg. Usually prefer VG vapes mostly so am going to order VG blend and VG as a dilution.

Also have been looking at Capella flavors since they have some mixes of flavors I have liked but as I am just starting out I have read single flavors are best till I get the true hang of it. So I can still get some complexity while I start out.

I love cooking and baking and am quite good I am told at both. I am looking forward to trying to create some vaping masterpieces and saving some money. Also with the possible ban in NY this would be a great way for me to stock up.

Thanks in advance for your time and any advice. :)

Good luck bluebelle, if I can do it, you can do it too! The kit you are getting is perfect, everything you need to get started. Do you just want to vape VG only since I see you are getting only VG? Flavors are fun to mix, so don't be afraid to mix them with VG and try them before you add the nicotine liquid. I don't know how, but so far I haven't made anything terrible. Knock on wood. If I do I think I will add menthol to mask it, lol. You may also check around for getting a stash of nic liquid going as you get money up to do so, that ban is worrisome. Flavors you will be able to buy anytime all the time. The nic liquid goes on sale from place to place so check the threads here for share your vendor thread. I remember boxwood elder chemical company and nicvape.com. The rest I forget. I'm sure a few more experienced with this will be chiming in soon, best of luck!

Would PG be recommended as a dilution to VG blend?

Sometimes though I have found PG/VG mixes of 80/20 and 70/30 to be a bit harsh and not very flavorful or vapor producing from vendors I have tried.

I have read that VG brings out the flavors but I don't want something too mild.

I know probably trial and error, but any thoughts are appreciated.

I will be stocking up on nic liquid against a possible ban if I can make a reasonable go of this.

You asked for advise for starting out so I'll list my advise in what I think is order of importance.

1-Make Notes!
2-Keep those notes and refer to them often
3-Mix small at first
4-Be ready to adjust recipe when scaling for a larger batch.
5-experiment without nic first
6-Keep mixing area organized and free of distractions.
7-When mixing with nic always double check the calculator you're using, then triple check. (More important when working with higher nic mg's).
8-Only have one bottle open at a time.
9-Don't drink that cup of water on the mixing table with syringes and drippers sticking out.
10-Have Fun and report back!

(Some of that list is serious and some is humor, if you cannot tell the difference, please read more before starting.)

I did it! I took the plunge!

I ordered the Artisans Master Kit!

Did go a little flavor crazy but I really want this to work.

Got:

Lorianne:

Banana Creme
Cheesecake
Strawberry

Flavor Apprentice:
Blueberry
Sweetner
Vanilla Bean Ice Cream
Coffee
Cinnamon
Apple
Bavarian Creme
Graham Cracker
Toasted Almond
Maple Syrup
Waffle
White Chocolate

Separately ordered Capella:

Blueberry Cinnamom Crumble
Cinnamon Danish Swirl
French Toast

Hopefully I will be mixing some wonderful juices soon. Tried to get flavors that I could mix up a little and that would compliment each other. Also wanted to sample some flavoring brands to see which ones I prefer.

Wallet hurts a little, but hopefully this will be paying off soon. At least if I don't like the juice this time I can only blame myself. :)
