I am looking at somethings I think that most out here consider the bottom dwellers of the vaping world. Automatics but that is because I really want a hands free solution.

I am looking at Vapor4lives Auto Dial-A-Volt 650mah with a Smilomizer but not sure if I will like size of the built in drip tip. I have bought too many things that just don't fit. It might be perfect for what I want but maybe not.

I also have been thinking about solving my hands free option by going backwards to a 45mm Ivenvape with 1.5ml capacity and an SDkeyring Maxi as my hands free option.

I am also thinking on another cigalike but do not want a Blu, I want something better than that. It would only be for short trips, the handy grab and run with one and not be loaded down.

I still use Green Smart Living auto cig-a-likes sometimes. When I'm out to dinner with my elderly parents and don't feel like getting into a discussion about e-cigs with curious strangers, I like the super-stealth vape aspect.

One thing I don't like about the cigalikes I have seen is the led on the end. I wish that was not there.

Just look at my sig & you can see the variety of devices I use pretty much daily. I've PIFed ego clones (really decent ones) and a Tox. Still have my first 2 box mods - 1 VV & 1 unregulated - I use them when I might be in a potential 'lose it' situation like fishing, etc.

Of course they exist and it is not hard to understand why.

I am a ProVari user and it is an awesome mod.

But it is not the be all and end all. There are many great mods out there that do just as well and I dare say, on a bang for buck basis are even a better option. Sigelei, Vamo you name it.

You could get 6 Vamos for the price of a ProVari and it is a great device even if it lasts just 12 months you could just ditch it and buy another or a better built Sigelei.

Look, the ProVari is not the holy grail. It is not the device to end all devices. It is in fact a bit boring when compared to other gizmos on the market that offer a good experience for less money. It doesn't do VW either which I prefer after using the eVic.

And before I get all bashed up, I do use a Provari as my main device. I also use eVic and am planning on getting a Sigelei or Vamo which I believe are excellent as well.

I've had my Provari ~2 weeks now and enjoy using it, the build quality is very good & it has a good bit of weight to it. I still fear dropping it due to the possibility of breaking the display window or circuit board, and still enjoy using my 14500 VV Detonator Box Mod, especially at work or running errands. I've dropped it countless times, had the door & batteries fly off, and after putting it together, it fires first time every time.

I don't discriminate and have tried many & liked most, most of them came and went (PIF or Sold) but I'll keep the Detonator & Provari since they both are satisfying and perform well.

My favorite Mini was the 78mm Volt, and with an 808D-510 adapter you can use a variety of Cartos or Mini KR-510 Clearos.

I own one but I don't enjoy the rabid fan base that swears it's the only device that is worth buying. It needs an update VERY badly and when things like the Cyborg come out it will be left in the dust. I guess my biggest issue is that the price difference between a $40 Vamo and a $190 Provari w/ Cap doesn't seem justified as the performance just isn't that much different and the build quality isn't enough to make it cost that much more.

I still use it for all my pre-made burners like carto tanks, regular atomizers, clearomizers, etc as I enjoy the VV aspect and that it's made in the USA. I have never given up my stance that Mechanical mods are my favorite devices.

Seeing as how I own both a Prothingy and a Vamo, I can see where the price difference is. Especially considering that one is made in China and the other is made in the U.S.A. (and also considering the fact that one of my vamos no longer works). But the price point is something everyone brings up. The eVic would be a better comparison to the ProVari, but once you buy the stainless steel aftermarket upgrades, you have basically spent the same amount of money, and the Evic has a tendency to lose it's head at the most awkward times.

When you say it needs an update badly, what exactly are you talking about? Just Variable Wattage?

The Cyborg? First I've heard of it. Funny thing is, wasn't the Vamo supposed to be the mod that left the ProVari in the dust? I seem to remember reading that quite a bit...haven't read it recently, though.

I agree with this:thumb:.

I don't need variable wattage. All of my juice delivery devices are the same resistance. I even make the coils of my rebuildables to 2.0 ohm so I can use them on my Provari, and enjoy them more than a sub-1 ohm coil on my Silver Bullet. But that's just me.

So, if someone is looking for a consistant, dependable, durable variable voltage-only mod, I don't believe you'll find a better long term answer. Part of the reason the Provari has such a high startup price is you are investing in the long term customer service that Provape offers. None of the Chinese made devices will be repairable should they stop functioning after their comparably shorter warranty expires. I'll be able to get my Provari's repaired as long as I have the devices.

I realize this is a different perspective than others may have. Other vapors will prefer to just replace their device with another inexpensive APV even knowing that the same thing could happen to that device. That's just not the road I want to travel. I'd rather buy once, cry once, and never regret it.

You can buy USA made DNA20 mods for around the price of the Provari. The point I'm making is that soon it will be common to see US made DNA20 mods available and the dated Provari will basically fall to the way side. It's a great device but even now it's swiftly losing ground, the lack of innovation and addition of simple features are going to kill it... Look up specs on what that circuit board can do and you will understand.

The cyborg can be seen in pbusardos vape bash video at the 44 minute mark.

So what features other than variable wattage and the ability to fire a ultra low resistance coil is the Provari missing? Educate me.

The market share of vapors that truly need variable wattage and the ability to fire an ultra low resistance coil is in the minority among vapors when considered as a whole. You might be one of the people who need those abilities, and therefore I can understand how a Provari would not fit your needs.

I stand by my belief that the Provari will always be a standard that will not lose much in popularity, because it does what it does so well. "Swiftly losing ground"? Not if you guage it's continued popularity and the number of people posting on this board of buying a new Provari is any indication.

Another mod that has been around for several years now is the Altsmoke Silver Bullet. (I know its a mechanical...I own one). It hasn't changed hardly at all since it was first introduced. It continues to sell as well now as it ever has, because there will always be a market for what it offers.
