The very fact that special interest groups have the freedom to make trash like this and actually get it on air show that it is the "country of freedom". For better or worse.

This is the classic 'freedom fallacy' that a so called free democracy uses to disguise their population control methods.

We have special interest groups too but this kind of scary stuff doesn't happen. Take the blinkers off ;)

Good thing the US is not a democracy.

Your point, not "the" point at all. All you have is an opinion about something.
Are you able to define "a lot worse" ?
If you've ever had any sort of a biology class you would understand breathing in anything other than what you are suppose to be breathing is alot worse than not breathing in contaminants. vaping by definition is not safe. Because it is safer than smoking tobacco doesn't mean it is safe. There are many respiratory problems that are increased by vaping that are not as predominant in someone that doesn't vape. It is a higher possibility to get lung cancer from vaping than if someone doesn't vape. People that say that vaping is safe are lying just as bad as the stupid puppet commercials. Again just because vaping is safer than smoking doesn't mean it's safe. It's like saying smoking is safe because it's safer than taking heroine. Don't be stupid.

You are just saying things with absolutely nothing in the way of research and study papers to back up what you are saying. Your post is no more than opinion and hyperbole.

The FDA plans on forcing cigarette manufacturers to lower the nic level in cigarettes. I have no idea how they will do that, but if they can reduce it, they can make it 0 if they wanted to.
You can't make 0nic tobacco. You can extract a large portion but you can't completely remove all of it. There are quite a few other plant and vegetables that contain nicotine. Tomatoes and Bell peppers to name a couple. Even so alot of the other chemicals used in manufacturing cigarettes is far worse than nicotine. The habit alone for many people is harder to break than the chemical addiction.

No you can't get to absolute 0 but you can get to "effective" 0. Like sub 1% nic. Not 0 but close enough. "Caffeine free" versions of normally caffeinated drinks usually still have some caffeine in them just a very small amount.

The rest of that is kind of my whole point. Even at absolute 0, cigarettes would still be addictive due to all the other crap in them.

Actually, under current law, the FDA is prohibited from:
(1) banning all cigarettes, all smokeless tobacco products, all little cigars, all cigars other than little cigars, all pipe tobacco, or all roll-your-own tobacco products; or
(2) requiring the reduction of nicotine yields of a tobacco product to zero.

There have been several studies (sorry on phone so no links to offer but honest this is legit) where smokers given nicotine reduced tobacco cigarettes (no I don't know the commercial process to go that) ended up smoking less than what they did of normal nicotine tobacco cigarettes. This us attributed to them bring less "fulfilling" (or maybe they tasted like crap), so lower use equals well, lower use and less risk. The original idea was if cigarettes contained little nicotine addiction risk would he lowered, and for those who couldn't give up that nicotine rush would migrate to safer higher nic products such as vaping. Great idea until the kids started screwing everything up.

There may be other chemicals in burning tobacco that augment the nicotine but are by themselves insufficient to reproduce the nic hit feel or the addictive quality of the product.
