For those really surprised about this, you should really see "Thank you for smoking".
The main focus of the movie is the tabacco industry, but it does convey a mindset and communicative manipulation which might illustrate what is happening with vaping.
"Wag the Dog" is kind of akin to it with a political focus, without going all "Michael Moore" on you.

The tabacco industry is powerfull and wealthy. So there are a lot of parties interested in keeping you hooked aside from the mindless "chin up, if you would want to quit smoking, all you need is to want it badly enough" and those outright agreeing because they claim to have do so.
The same is true for those who suffer from; depression, mental illnesses in general, eating disorders... even bedwetting if I remember my history correctly.
I won't even touch the matter of religions which monopolise being right and true, making everyone else wrong by definition and proclaiming it loudly.

I'll correct myself, since nobody else did. There is a story that government agencies, in the early 1900's, eliminated a foot-mouth disease (forget what it's called), caused by people walking barefoot in excrement.
That's all it is though, just a story on wiki. Due to the amount of historical manipulation I've seen just in my lifetime, I now view the entire recorded history of civilization as an assumed contrivance.

Government, corporate structure, and religion's main modus operandi is to fill people's lives with so much deception and feed it to them in a steady diet so that when they do happen to encounter truth, they violently reject it. The separation between these institutions are nearly completely illusory, and their interests almost always perfectly coincide.

Good example, it shows that those controlling the organization behind society have no greater aims than to continue making more money. Therefore, their ideal citizen is a nearly-lobotomized drone who can do nothing except take orders, with no greater desire than to play 'diving for dollars' like in that show in The Running Man movie. There's always the cheap thrills they get from stealing the money, rather than from their game, I guess?

Hard to say what really keeps them going, or motivates them besides stupidity and greed, at any level they exist. People, I mean. Organizations are merely formed from the people who comprise them.

Scary? I'll tell you what's scary. I once passed an active snow plow on the right. At night. While it was snowing. That's scary. No matter how slow it is going, don't even think about it.

Lol fair enough. We don't get enough snow down here to deal with that, which I am grateful for.

I don't have any domesticated pets, but I love animals. I even like insects and arachnids. I've got a deer, a rabbit, a few fieldmice, a beaver, possum, and a couple of chipmunks that all live in my yard. While living right next to a fairly busy highway.

I keep my yard extremely unkempt for them. Knowing people hate it makes me like it even more. Animals have extraordinary senses of perception that humans can't appreciate except at more basic, humble levels.

The average person wouldn't even believe how smart a spider is. I thought I flushed one down the sink yesterday, so I was lamenting out loud on the john, wondering if Id killed him. Another spider dropped from the ceiling while I was talking, so I finished my business and went over to look. She was sitting right next to the spider that had been previously inhabiting my sink, pointing him out to me.

Not only did she know exactly what I was talking about, she knew exactly how to answer my question, and did so. They're wicked intelligent, I tells ya. I've seen them dance, just for the sheer joy of music.

While the husband was putting in the labyrinth big time (lots of digging and stone work) he was getting all St. Francis like, I mean birds were flying around his head and bunnies at his feet or whatnot,

He made the mistake of boasting about it to me. I was like, "No honey, you just smell like DIRT."

Heh yes animals, they know. Believe me, I am locating my posse of coyotes (not the human ones) to mentally commune with. It's harder. It's not like the Tucson ones were dumber exactly but they were for SURE more adolescent.

    In Douglas, they're more mature.

I CAN'T WAIT to leave this house and buy acreage but I am now half feral and also have food poisoning. I can probably WAIT.

The husband agrees with me about the RV. Maybe. If I can do yoga in it... But then I consider the downsizing even though we could have a storage container or something. No one wants to live in an RV forever. Although it's better than... Nothing.

I'd love to have a fantastic novel written by you.
I'd make my kids read it ... when they misbehave too much

Um.... is this a complement or an insult, I can't quite figure it out??

Are you saying I am a cautionary tale? I suppose that may be correct. Well no matter to get back on topic:

Yeah I hear I need David Foster Wallace's editor, Infinite Jest used to be twice as long. The editor wanted it shorter but DFW said he would burn it if the editor took out the footnotes.

I am in no way comparing myself with DFW other than lengthy, that would be incredibly rude.

You will be happy to hear I am home sick today, with, ironically enough a HEADACHE from running into a door jamb on my virginal morning trip from my bed to the coffee maker.

I could move the coffee urn into the bedroom, possibly. Mostly I think it's all the rotten med changes. Plus moving plus feral.

But to get back on topic:

I hate this guy's radio ads so much. It was actually a RATHER LARGE part of why I switched to phone-car radio. I thought he was a Tucson dude if it's a national chain I am going to FIND that guy and HUNT him down and DEMAND my free flashlight and then hit him with it.

For those of you who like flashlights, however, he gives out a free one apparently to every new customer because his dad made him "hold" his while his dad was doing A/C repair.

I bet his old man was okay.... The son is a total tool. I also do not believe the ads, I do not believe that guy "has his technicians" call him after every repair to review the 16 points of A/C rightness.

I'm fairly sure his dad left him home most of the time, going "Son, I have a job for many reasons and one of them includes time away from YOU." The kid was probably imagining the whole flashlight thing, sadly, in bed.

No, I don't feel sorry for a kid like that. Don't be a tool and maybe your jingle won't get into peoples heads and LODGE there like a, IDK the brain equivalent of that fish which can swim up your junk.

Wow. I still got a lot of hate for this dude. BUT !!!! If you have not heard the jingle don't do it. I'm serious. Super, super serious.

    th

It's not worth it I promise.
