Well, I am on my way to stepping across the threshold. I have been researching vaping for awhile now for my wife. She still smokes analogs and wishes to quit. I used to smoke but was able to quit 3 years ago. Unfortunately, to her I am one of those hated ex-smokers I swore I wouldn't become. All of the research has re-awakened my cravings. So, I finally decided on a style based on reviews, forum posts, price, and my wife's preferences. I am excited (if not moreso than her) and anxiously awaiting shipment now. I decided on the Revolver Elite with the PCC. Unfortunately, I didn't realize until the order was complete that it comes with basic tobacco flavors and my wife smokes menthols. (When I smoked, we both smoked Marlboro Lights.) So, I went back online and ordered some menthol e-liquid for her and a variety of 0 nic in other flavors from WetYourStick so that we can both try them out. By the time she needs more juice, I can order the flavors she likes in the strength that works for her. Since WYS is local, I'll probably get the juice before the e-cigs.

No-nicotine liquids are a good choice. To fulfill the want to smoke, but not to get yourself hooked on nicotine again.

Although I'm starting to wonder myself if it's the nicotine or just the habit with me. I started out with 24mg niquid, and moved to 35mg with one of my ecigs (mint), and lowered my other flavor (peanut butter) to 11 or 16 just because that was what they had in stock. I really don't think that I use the mint for the nicotine...I use it when I want mint. I just purchased some doublers from Tastyvapor to test my theory and see if it's the nicotine or the habit. (I do still smoke a cig a day and a pack a weekend, but I don't think that's because of the nicotine either).

I wonder the same things. If PM had figured out a way to make a 0 nic. Marlboro Red that in every other way was indistinguishable (i.e., still high tar, full flavor), would people have stayed hooked on them, at least after a couple days of nicotine withdrawal? I'm thinking quite likely a lot would.

If you experiment with the doublers alone, do post about how that went.

The Elite actually came in with a variety of flavors and nic strengths and the e-juice arrived the day before. So far I tried a few flavors and wasn't really impressed until I did the PTB cart mod. This made the flavors much stronger and the vapor much more pronounced and my wife says that the nic juice hits a lot better. Before she complained that it tasted like she was smoking filter. Now she says it is much better. The main thing is that she actually enjoys it which hopefully will make her analog cravings cease. It's nice that its becoming a hobby that we can enjoy together, her on the nic, me on the doublers.
