I love to vape and hate to smoke but when I vape I get really bad anxiety. No matter what strength I use, no matter what pg\vg mix I use I get panic attacks throughout the day when I'm around other people. I get shaky and Get the feeling everyone's looking at me. Every time I tried vaping I would get these issues and go back to smoking and almost instantly it would go away. But whenever I use the nicotine patch the craving for cigarettes is no longer there but the patch would always give me a "hand" craving still. Like a need to put smoke to mouth. The physical addiction. But now I decided to get all my same flavours in 0mg and use the 1st step patch and I haven't had a smoke since. Whenever the hang craving comes in I use my vaper and the patch keeps the nicotine levels high enough I don't get the withdrawals from that. Seem to be all good now :thumb::vapor:

I know a ton of people who get panicky around others and it has nothing to do with vaping or smoking , quite common actually . I don't get really panicky around people i just prefer to avoid crowds and people in general , people get on my nerves these days .

If i need someone to talk my dog always fits the bill , you can get into a very intellectual conversation with him and he just gets it , no talking back , always agrees , just perfect .

Congrats on finding your method! funny you mention talking to dogs. I talk to mine alot and today i got a note from her groomer telling me that she is very sassy. I had to laugh because when i talk to my dog she does bark back and occasionally will bark over you talking especially if she disagrees lol.

hey whatever works for you.

just had my first visit with a the new internal med doc..she had to play with my iStick & V2..she'd said she'd seen other but not like this (cigalikes) so we had a lil vape chat and how it worked for me and Ed and she's got some older more die hard smokers for patients and wrote down the sweet-vapes url and names of what I'm using *lol* and still no respiratory meds needed, yeah!!

but general anxiety disorder is a big deal..it's trickled down through my family..and I "get" it...glad you found something that works for you!! :)

You could try some WTA liquid. It seems to help more with the anxiety issues and others that just vaping can't help. In my case, I could not get rid of the ghost cigarette smell. I finally used a bottle of WTA along with my normal liquid. Problem was cured after the bottle was gone.

Would not WTA increase dependence on nicotine?

It didn't for me. For a year to a year and half vaping, there was something that just kept me thinking I needed a smoke. I would lie in bed at night smelling freshly lit cigarette smoke. I woke in the morning smelling it. I thought some dude had snuck into my attic as was living there. I bought a 24mg 15 ml bottle full VG and tried 5 drops in a mixture. Wow.. Almost pure pleasure. After many many puffs, it was too much and I plopped on a tank of my usual stuff. I alternated back and forth. By the end of that bottle, I was "cured".

I am an 8.5W 9ish mg vaper.

Personally I don't believe in pure nicotine dependence. I believe the dependency is coming from other things in a smoke. 3 years in vaping I still have the urge to smoke and not an urge to vape. I smoke a cigar once a week which helps.

WHAT? I can't figure you out Alien, sometimes you drop absolute gems of information and then something like this comes out. WTA has helped many an individual here clear the hurdle of the first few months of transitioning from smokes to vape.

Why would you say it would increase dependence?

I've to agree with your question...

OnT: I'm glad you found the way that works for you! :)
Anxiety is no fun for sure.
In this case i don't think it's the nicotine itself, more likley the fact that you're vaping around people and it feels like everyone is judging you/looking at you.
However if overdo the vaping on higher nics (i use 6-12mg nowadays, and it's easier to overdo it when i'm on my 12mg and vapeing like it's my 6mgs.) I do get anxiety due overnicking. Or well i guess that's the reason.

I am sorry I put it in a wrong way. It was a question, not a statement.

I am sorry I put it in a wrong way. It was a question, not a statement.
But quick googling confirms that my question was not baseless.
There is some evidence that alkaloids intensify reaction on nicotine:
https://www.google.com/url?url=http://scholar.google.com/scholar_url?url=http://addictioneducation.co.uk/NICOTINE2009.doc&hl=en&sa=X&scisig=AAGBfm1m4L_wimzWDy70nj54gXC-Cysy1A&nossl=1&oi=scholarr&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&sa=X&ei=1OaeVeiFIsvqoAT7-YKYBg&ved=0CB8QgAMoADAA&usg=AFQjCNEX51sCoh9F4RFeYKmDOxDnuJ-6tg

Also worth notion that alkaloids are (at least partially) MAOI:
Harmala alkaloid - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Several alkaloids that function as monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) are found in the seeds ofPeganum harmala.... Harmala alkaloids are also found in many other plants, such as tobacco

So, it looks like it is better do not use WTA if possible; only when other methods of quitting smoking do not work. Just my opinion.

I get the anxiety thing. I had that a lot when I was younger and was horribly shy. My wife is a noted psychiatrist with a specialty in operant conditioning. She fitted the dogs corrective collar to my belt and poked small holes in my pants so that when we'd go out socially, every time I was looking anxious, she'd shock me and made me forget what I was anxious about. It worked out well. Turns out when I wasn't being anxious, I was quite charming and the ladies were very attracted to my new jovial personality! She got jealous so she'd shock me when ever I was talking to a woman. She threatened to put the shock thing on maximum power and put it in my underpants. That just made me anxious again.

night smelling freshly lit cigarette smoke.
I know exactly that smell. I only got it when I was trying to quit smoking cold turkey. Thank goodness I have not had that happen since I started vaping 100%. I call it the phantom cigarette scent. No one else near but I could swear on a stack of bibles that there was someone smoking.

For me, I think I took to smoking when I got anxious. Later in life i knew that I had anxiety disorder. Getting that settled helped me clear up a lot of things that I just did not know were influenced by anxiety. Rather surprised.

I think that their are a lot of chemicals in cigarettes. I wouldn't be surprised if an anti-anxiety chemical is a part of that make-up. I have no evidence whatsoever.

Vaping just has nic. I am glad that i got my need for smoking alleviated by vaping.
