I've gone through, oh, at least 2 1/16 bits because of not doing this. lol. I would run the bits down to teeny little nubs... :D

If you have a spray bottle around somewhere, it also helps in drilling stainless to spray a mist of water on the drill bit, and the hole, while drilling. It keeps the bit cool.

Stainless steel should actually be drilled at slower speed. High speed will burn up a drill bit in a hurry.
I bought two 1/16 cobalt drill bits at Home Depot the other day thinking that I would drill a couple of hole to sink some pins into for wrapping the coil grounds around. I was going to use regular wick hole for one wick and was going to drill out the ground screw hole right beside it for to have dual coil/wicks with just the one air hole. All that I achieved was a bigger center punch mark!

New AGA-T
Deknurled AGA-T
Deknurled AGA-T reshaped, air hole drilled out, cap sanded to line up air hole less then 45 minutes.

I have the version of the Aga-T with the thinner top cap and it was out of alignment by 1/2 turn. It would work ok if I just backed it off 1/2 turn but it got on my nerves because it left a gap I did not like, just me being .... I guess. I was able to fix it by filing it a bit at a time until it lined up correctly and now it vapes great. I also found that the airhole had a bad burr left from the original machining and removed that as well, it helped the draw a great deal. Check yours before you try to drill it to make sure it's not burred. Slow speed is a must for drilling stainless and you really should use a lubricant on it may will gall and could seize the bit. a titanium coated bit might help but it would be great if you could find a carbide bit that was small enough (good luck). I understand an improved Aga is coming soon with a friction fit (like the Aga-w) instead of screw on top cap so the alignment will not be an issue.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all.

I can't remember where I saw this suggested, but if your air hole is going PAST your wick, you can take the o-ring off and add a few layers of flat dental floss, then slide the o-ring back on. This will push your o-ring out slightly more and you will get a more snug fit when you have the air hole lining up with the wick.

My air hole was past the wick about 1/8th of a turn and using 3 wraps of the dental floss make it nice and tight when it was lined up.

Thank you so much, a simple super fast fix that works brilliantly!
