Maybe this has been asked before but is there any plans for VG only cartomizers for the vapor king in the future?

I glanced about on you website a bit which only mentioned PG unless I missed it. I also clicked through a few pages here in your forum and see nothing here either.

I like the simplistic nature of your PVs and think they would come in handy with smokers trying to quit that don't want to be overwhelmed with the ritual that goes with vaping most PVs. I'd probably be interested in several kits over time for family/friends but I'd hate to have them turn away from vaping if they ended up being one of the small percent of people with an intolerance for PG. <insert generic pun here about leaving a bad taste in their mouths>

So what's the story with PG only and are there any plans for your CMs to be available with VG only liquids in the future?

Pure VG liquids dont work super great in a cartomizer, although light mixes do.

I've tried several different brands of VG, including vermont vapor and Mist-stix varieties, only to be disappointed by their performance.

For starters, for some reason VG tends to atomize oddly. You'll get loads..sometimes too much..flavor at the beginning, followed by hollow empty massive clouds of vapor at the end. Odd but true. and the flavors..when you do indeed notice the flavor..are odd as heck through a cartomizer.

Second, because vapor production seems to be tied to juice usage (go figure) VG vapes out superfast. Ive never gotten an hour out of a cartomizer runnin pure VG, and have burnt several blanks discovering this.

What i have had moderate success with, is cutting PG liquids with a *touch* of VG.

Ive got some Kick brand "tobacco road" which when smoked in a 901 i dubbed "Tobacco Road Kill". i cut it with USP VG from 24 to 18mg utilizing a calculator found in the liquid forum. I tried it again in a 901 and it was still raunchy as month old arm-pit. I put the bottle away and forgot it.

I broke out that bottle today and put it in a cartomizer hoping to get at least a little use out of it without blanching...i had never tried this particular mix in a cartomizer incidently.

Right now, I'm not planning on putting it down..it turned out great..in a cartomizer...its still ugly in my 901 tho :(

I think a different design is required for VG...perhaps the GC? I've yet to try the GC. Wish i knew what model it was so I could research it a little like i did the base upon which the VK was built.

Cool thanks, although it sucks to hear that. This would be awesome for my father who I feel just wouldn't be up to the maintenance required with other PVs.

Maybe I'll grab one and try it out myself before I start handing these out to relatives as a first-time PV. I don't have any problems vaping PG or VG but didn't want to turn anyone away from vaping with a bad experience.

I've seen the very few reviews I could find on this PV and am still on the wall. You started with a 901? How does the VK hold up? I doubt I'd ever use it as my main but I could think of several instances where this could come in handy for me.

Any flavors that stand out I should look into with these cartomizers?

As far as how the VK holds up. I've only had one problem. I had a malfunctioning battery. Steve replaced it, and that was my last problem. I'm still on those batteries, and it's been at least a month, they show no signs of flagging yet. Battery life expectancy is around 3-4 months on a VK, depending on usage. A passthrough greatly extends that life of course as you can use it in place of a battery at the computer...or...if you buy an appropriately powered USB converter, you can use a passthrough anywhere you can plug in. I'm using a 4 port kensington 2amp USB charger and can run two passthroughs at a time on it. SO i can use a passthrough at my recliner while watching tv..very handy. Cartomizers are designed to be disposable. after allegedly 3-4 refills theyre supposed to be toast. I'm using one thats new today. My other one is a menthol and ive refilled it more than 10 times....I generally toss them when they get strange...or if i vape one dead and burn it (you'll know when that happens). Theyre cheap, and after 3 refills or so, you've beaten the odds...anything beyond that is gravy. I'm tight tho, so i squeeze a nickel till a dime pops out..i really should throw them away sooner, but i dont.

I wont say everyone started out on a 901..but almost everyone did. it's more work than its worth unfortunately.

The VK is crazy simple to use, and instead of constant cartridge filling, I can get all of my maintenance done in one sitting in a few minutes once a day. This involves refilling a few cartomizers. As cartomizers last for literally hours (using PG) and as it takes only a few minutes to fill a days worth, you have time to vape and less time screwing with the equipment.

As far as cartomizer flavors..it kinda depends on your goals for the device, and what you like.
I always tell people; if youre tryin to dump analogs in one day and never look back..then i hope you smoked menthols at some point. i say that because menthol is the most true and accurate attempt @ an analog available currently.
The "marlboro" and other attempts at an analog, while good, are not close enough for your brain to accept.
if you or your family are people who utterly hated menthols and didnt even smoke them when sick or just occasionally to be different...then youre stuck with either tobacco flavors, or one of the mountains of other flavors available. That's not necessarily a bad thing..but the first little bit will be tougher on you than most.

If you get your family a 901 as their first time PV, the following will happen:

They'll try the prefilled carts that came with it, and while they work, they'll run out of flavor almost immediately and need to be changed. that "carts last as long as a pack of cigs" song and dance the 901 sites give you is complete garbage :(

They'll then, having used up the carts, have an issue unless they got fluid (matching the carts of course) with it.

They'll then be dissatisfied with the performance of refilled carts, because the batting material and cart design is not what it could be, and begin modding carts with straws, pyramid tea bags, and sometimes both.

after numerous attempts at getting the little cart to perform properly, they'll finally try "dripping" which is putting a gutted empty cart in an atomizer upon which you've dripped a drop or two of juice.

This will work for a while but eventually one too many drops will sneak through the hole and kill one or both of their batteries.

Throughout this time, beginning to end, they'll be getting intermittant mouthfulls of nic juice cause again, the design could be a little better.

Or!
you can get them the VK, and a couple packs of carts, and a bottle of matching juice. One video and perhaps even two videos...available for viewing on youtube, will outline the "take out the little white cap and rubber thing, drip juice in slowly till you see it's gettin the batting wet..stop, re-assemble, done" proceedure and that's it..thats the learning curve.

I strongly recommend the menthol juice for people trying to dump analogs in one round. If you intend to use it as a cig suppliment, to cut down smoking..any flavor that sounds good will work..

Im being absolutely serious about this one thing however: More people throw down the e-cig in disgust and give it up entirely due to the malfunctions and learning curve involved with most other models. Included in that list of popular models are the 901, the 801, and the 510...which many start with..but are far more appropriate for seasoned Vapers who enjoy tinkering with their equipment endlessly. As a first PV, the Vapor King is by far the simplest and least likely to disappoint.

I hope I've helped. I don't get paid for this, nor do i work for Steve. I am a proud owner, and having owned several others, it is now my only device. I just got totally tired of tinkering with the other junk in the hopes of gettin that perfect vape between the mouthfulls of juice and murdered batteries. I believe in the product, and I'll tell anyone who stands still long enough to listen.

KC have you been watching me? Seriously, that is pretty much my story and I found the vapor king / 808 last. Very unfortunate series of events but it has lead me to bliss finally. I will chalk the rest up to lesson learned.

I have not been peeking in your window! really!
But it's the logical natural progression of a thing. When I think about how frugal i am, and then i think of the money i wasted on other PVs before i broke down and bought a VK..my wallet *cringes*. I'd spare anyone that pain if i could.

Yeah you've helped a bunch. I'll probably snag one to try it out but I really do like the ritual of maintenance I perform daily on my 510 and I have ordered a few heavy hitter mods as well. I think these VKs would be awesome for people who wouldn't enjoy the reg day to day maintenance of PVs though.

Maybe I'll end up liking the VK a whole lot but from what I've seen I don't think the vapor production could hold me enough to make this my main and I absolutely love Ecopure VG juices.

I know what you mean about how the taste at first is a big put-off while transitioning to PVs but by day 3 of vaping I actually started to like the subdued taste far better than I ever liked tasting cigarettes. You just can't go into it expecting cigarette taste or you'll be let down.

Thanks again for the replies.

I have been talking to my factory about this, and should have about 10-12 flavors in VG in about 30 days. I would love some requests, to help choose:hubba:

kc0cmp - That's a great write up and explains the benefits of the cartomizer. Fortunately I did a ton of research. I enjoy the no muss...no fuss approach we have with the VK. And I am very happy I found this section of the forum. I like ordering from vendors that support their customers and have the same mission as the rest of us...get off the analogs.

I received my kit yesterday, started vaping shortly after and have not had an analog since. I started with the cola and all I could think was how interesting..lol. But it grew on me and I like it. I also received some red cow and while its ok, its not for me. But I will finish it. And I have a bottle of hilton...it has a real nice tobacco flavor to it. I will be placing another order tomorrow and ordering the menthol and a coupe of the other new ones Steve received.

I also agree about the refilling. It's very easy and does save money. The cartomizer is lasting me much longer than I thought it would. So between the new ones Steve has, and refilling them a couple of times, not only will my health be getting better but I will be saving.

Anyway my experience has been awesome so far....after 40 years of smoking, I am now smoke free!! I never believed I would have been able to kick the analog habit this easily...and permanently. I smoked a carton of Marboro Menthol Light 100's per week to 10 days. Sure, I still crave an analog now and then since I just quit yesterday...but its easy to control it and I know it will be easier with time. Surprisingly however, it has not taken me as much determination as I though it would. The VK has made it so much easier for me compared to what I know I would have gone through with the three piece models.:D

That's nice to hear... I ordered one of your ultimate packs yesterday so I can try it out myself. Maybe when you have VG I'll get my dad one as well with a mixture of PG and VG so he can decide what he likes.

I wish them luck, I have yet to get VG to work properly in a cartomizer. Certainly the factory will know how to accomplish this better than me, All i managed to accomplish was to fry some new blank cartomizers with it..and it seems to vape away with amazing speed. While it was working it worked great, but cartomizer fill life (duration a completely filled cartomizer lasted) was abysmal. VG burns up faster cause it makes more vapor i think.. and mixes greater than 25% or so kinda didnt work properly either.

The factory has some time to sort this out, I hope they succeed.
As far as requests go:
Pineapple,
kent or hilton (light tobacco of some kind)
Butterscotch!
Blackberry
Carmel (make sure its carmel and not buttered popcorn!) (yes the chinese get confused)

*edit* Crap, i knew i forgot a flavor...CHEESECAKE!, then we can be like mooby and when one gets low, we can refill it with a fruit like PINEAPPLE (he did it the other way around but still) and have a PINEAPPLE CHEESECAKE! omg now im hungry i duno how Mooby does it? Had i refilled a pineapple cartomizer with cheese cake and gotten pineapple cheese cake, my next move woulda been to walmart for the pineapple cheese cake..period.

um...thats what popped to the front of my mind instantly anyhow, i'm sure there's other flavors i'd like to see, cant think of them just woke up :/

That sounds like an excellent prospect for doing some customer mixing. Say 25% VG for the vapor and 75% PG for the extended life.

Pretty much exactly what i did with some "Tobacco Road Kill" i got a bottle of over here, sure did knock it down to tolerable levels of .... flavor..and makes volumous clouds of vapor like an old VW i used to have...although that wasnt technically vapor..was probably still better for you than analogs

PS! no it wasnt a van, and NO the smoke wasnt comming from the passenger compartment..jeez the places you guy's minds go, i swear.

I would like to see coffee, menthol, mint, cherry, pineapple in VG juice at least. I have been playing with mixes and think about 25% VG is awsome in the cartomizer. And Steve, I have to say I just made some key lime and OMG you need to try that!!

recipe for those interested:

30 drops 48MG unlavored PG
20 drops plain VG
10 drops plain PG
20 drops Lorans KeyLime

This makes some 18MG enough to fill a blank and refill it a few times. (replace plain PG with more 48MG unlavored for 24MG)

VAPE ON!!!
