These places mentioned above are ripping the public off, R750 for a 901/801 or 103 type equivalent. Cigars at R1200-00, Pipe at R2000-00, juice at R150-00. By shopping around the prices drop to R495, R740, R840 and R70 respectively.

People arnt going to switch at those prices, if you think about it normal cigs in this country are fairly cheap anyway, somebody smoking say 20 a day would spend about R800 per month. Compare that with a starter kit at about R500, monthly juice supply R400-R500, spare atomizers, batteries etc and the general hassle of charging the things daily and refilling, it could work out more expensive. The only real reason for people to switch would be health and smoking anywhere.

I always seem to miss the important meat in your post, I guess I'm too hasty and excitable lol!
So..... you HAVE a 510 and not so impressed and now want a 801? I thought the 510 was the hot model now.

Its not that I dont like the 510 and it will remain in my little arsenal of e-cigs. I just like to try out new stuff and see what the results are like, I seem to have got this fetish for messing around with different ecigs, juices etc at the moment.

My one is black and I dont ever see myself buying a pink one! Maybe Chrome would be cool.

@ TheDealer, yes you are right, luck of the draw :).

@ Acorium, yeah, me too. I have to have all the models. Are you a guy? In that case I suppose pink won't be your thing lol! But what about for women? Are South African's still so into black and Silver electronics? Here in the far east, small electronics like cell phones, MP3 players, portable DVD players (and of course now the e-cigs) etc. etc. come in every color imaginable. Cell phones come in HUNDREDS of colors. Every time I visit SA, people always seem amazed at my pink cell or my burnt orange or my one with diamantes (OK, I made that one up, but some girls have them here) or whatever.... And wherever I look in SA everyone has a black phone!
Sorry to get so off topic guys.... tell me to bugger off to a new thread if I must....

So..... in that case perhaps I shouldn't bother importing different colors? Any thoughts please..... anyone? Pretty please :). I will be ordering from the supplier soon.
How about brass (gold) with a purple LED?

Colours are cool, however we have found that 1st time buyers want an electronic cigarette that looks like a cigarette, I think most just want to freak their friends out with it, we now have the ECS 88 same as the blu cig (Electronic Cigarette by Blu E-Cigarette) which is almost the exact same size as a real cigarette and it is flying off our website we sold 600 in just under two weeks, then we have the ECS 4081 (aka RN4081 or NCig Pro) which is a machine and its not selling as well, having said that I believe after the novelty has worn people will opt for the penstyle or more colourful e cigs to avoid attention when vaping in public areas.

@ stephenrowley, wow thanks for the link! That is a VERY reasonable price for a starter kit! Are you a seller in South Africa?
Thanks for the input on my color dilemma lol!!! So just to clarify, e-cigs come mainly in white, black and perhaps platinum (in SA)? Did I see a copper one?

Maybe color ones could fill a small niche market then?

I think people probably start off with a look-a-like cig to get that comfort factor and to not draw too much attention to themselves. It was difficult enough for me to adjust and was putting my ecig in an ashtry initially as I didnt know what to do with it! I think that them being look-a-like might well have drawn more attention to them. Personally I go for functionality and would actually prefer it if it doesnt resemble a cig at all and looks more like a pen.

As for different colours you will probably find most e-smokers are older and trying to kick some 1 or 2 pack a day habbit that they have had for years, they would probably have the cash up front to purchase the items - so I dont know whether a variety of colours would appeal to them. I also see with different coloured ecigs drawing more attention and the FDA going on about them appealing to kids blah blah blah.

I guess as time goes on and they dont get banned you could imagine a bunch of neon ecigs being waved around in nightclubs and stuff and they could have a cool factor. Also with nic-less mixes people wouldnt have to be hooked on nic but on the flavours instead!

The other question is of spares, at least with standard colours they are more readily available, imagine keeping stock of all those different colour combinations.

@ Aucorium. Very valid points indeed..... Hmmmm..... this is way more complicated that I initially thought.
BTW, the colors are interchangeable, like for eg. black whistletip-pink-atomizer-purple battery...

Do you have any online links with pics of the ones you are thinking of importing?

It would seem that ECOpure liquids from the UK are available in South Africa via Namibia suppliers.
I am awaiting further info, but from Ecopure
