I started tonight and found that I had a slight headache. Went away with a couple of Advil - no idea if it was related to the ecig.

Throat feels a tiny bit sore - not a lot though. It's more like the very early stages of a sore throat - it doesn't hurt at all, but you think it might the next day...

Also can't fall asleep. Kinda wired.

Anyone else have any of these effects?

thanks in advance for advice :)

The lack of sleep is something I'm still fighting after a couple of weeks. The problem is most likely that you (like me) are vaping nearly constantly, since you can. When I started, I was a pack/day smoker, and so the guy recommended 18 mg/ml nicotine. It's too much! I'm cutting down to 12 and seeing if that helps. While you don't absorb as much nic per puff as you do with a cigarette, you probably are using you PV more than you would smoke. At this point, it's probably best to just deal with the lack of sleep for now, lest you go back to smoking. Try getting some juice with less nicotine.

As for the other symptoms, I've heard of throat irritation with PG, but with the headache sore throat combined, you might just be coincidentally getting sick.

I found that high nic juice give me the same exact side effects that you have stated. My guess is that your juice is too strong. I've cut my dekang juices from 16mg to 8mg. Now, I only get headaches when I chain vape and the TH isn't too rough on me anymore. 2:30 am right now for me, I can't sleep because I love the taste of my juice.

By headache, I'm assuming that woozy, light-headed feeling you get from too much caffeine. Not necessarily a headache from a high temp fever.

The most serious side effect never went away: emptying my wallet trying all the cool gadgets and flavors available for vaping lol.

Less serious: I still over nic once in a while. It takes a little longer for the nic hit to really kick in while vaping versus smoking, so it isn't a bad idea to keep a rough idea of how many puffs you take per x time period to avoid way overdoing it before you realize it. I also got a little scratchy throat and runny nose from it initially. At first I blamed that on the PG but I found whatever it was I'm now used to it.

Sounds similar to me when I started. Sleep problems and headache are very likely tied to too much nic. 18 was too high for me but I vaped A LOT early on. 12 during the day and 6 at night seem perfect but each person is as unique as a fingerprint. Making any adjustment to lifestyle and habits takes time to settle in. Stopping smoking is a major change for sure.

Sore throat is very common and self corrects in s a week or 2.

One unusual side effect for me is that I drink less. I'm not a heavy drinker but a couple evening beers and a bourbon on the rocks is a routine. I'm finding myself grabbing my first beer much later and forgetting to drink my bourbon. Hardly a bad thing.

VG often causes some side effects, try using more PG in your liquid

headache, assuming it is related to ecig is one of the first signs of nicotine OD. You need to vape less OR go to a lower percentage.

Nicotine is a stimulant, too much and it is going to be difficult to sleep. I will use 12 mg during the day, go to 6 mg in the early evening and then use 3mg after 10 pm.

There seem to be a lot more issues with PG than VG. They will both dry you out. Water is a necessity. Depending on the individual, your body will adjust over time. I drink less water now than I did the first month of vaping.

ive been vaping a lot for over 8 months now, mostly 24 and 18 strength liquids, i am just now going to 12 and 6, however,
i felt like my skin and my hair was getting dry....sometimes an achy throat in the middle of the night/morning....your body will adapt to the pg and vg but keep drinkin water more so than usual, that takes care of any side effects....otherwise they have to do with u recently quitting rather than vaping

I've got nearly identical symptoms. I've had flat out nicotine poisoning in the past. The headache is from over-vaping. The sore throat is from that, in addition to not being used to the chemical ejuice.

I'm always an insomniac so...I've noticed no changes there.

I think that must be a pretty common. I noticed when I first started I was way way overdoing it. I'm trying to self regulate now. That's one big difference with vaping, your "cigarette" doesn't go out.

In active tobacco users, a lack of nicotine produces a wide range of withdrawal symptoms, including any or all of the following:
Headache
Nausea
Constipation or ........
Falling heart rate and blood pressure
Fatigue, drowsiness, and insomnia
Irritability
Difficulty concentrating
Anxiety
Depression
Increased hunger and caloric intake
Increased desire for the taste of sweets
Tobacco cravings

Food for thought and something to consider. The symptoms of withdrawal, dehydration and poisoning overlap with similarities. Just some information from WebMD. Best to you!

Greetings,

Started Vaping : July 1st, 2013

I can't say for certain if I have "side-effects" of vaping. One main reason is, I'm doing both.
Sadly, the first (and only) flavor I chose to vape (Menthol) was awful tasting to me (Black Licorice).
Until I can vape for a few days (probably a week) without smoking a cigarette... I may not have an 'accurate' opinion of side-effects.

I'm having a tough time giving up analog cigarettes.... that's the truth.
I did notice a difference in my throat area. It actually hurts more but the discomfort goes away pretty fast.
Although I'm VERY NEW to vaping.... I am paying close attention to my symptoms of side-effects but again.... I am taking into consideration the fact that I am smoking cigarettes as well as vaping.
