Would absolutely love to DIY my e juice - do any vendors here sell quality start up kits for DIY?
e.g. equipment and sample of flavors, sample of e juice base and sample nicotine for my first few patches - at reasonable prices

if the sample kits available are over priced, would anyone mind making me a hypothetical start up kit idea - i.e. what you'd sell to DIY e juice noobs if you owned an e juice company? or better yet, what you would have wanted (looking back) in a start up e juice "kit" (or simply list of equipment / materials) at a fair price from your favorite place to buy DIY supplies?

i antipate your responses!!
and preemptive thank you for any help I get!!

hopefully someone will have fun creating a hypothetical start up kit - i would in something i have experience, it's the sort of think i enjoy doing.

You can get all your supplies cheaper by buying them individually.A good starting setup would be a few syringes with blunt tip needles,pg,vg,nic if you use it,and obviously flavors. You can get all the supplies seperately at good prices at several online shops.A few i have used are wizard labs and bull city, both of these sell everything you need, and they both sell small 6-8ml sample sizes of flavors which are great to figure out what you like

How much do you want to spend? If the answer is, "As little as possible," you can get started with one 3 ml syringe, VG, nic base (if you will use nicotine), some distilled water from a grocery store, and optionally a flavoring or two. I think it is worth a couple of extra bucks to get one 10 ml and one 1 ml syringe. A roll of paper towels is really good to have on hand. Eye protection and a few disposable gloves are recommended.

You cannot buy patience and a willingness to learn from mistakes, but if you can find them, you will come out ahead.

thanks guys; my answer to how much i want to spend would be as little as possible to make a juice i'm satisfied with. i have 10ml syringes, blunt tip needles, distilled water obviously available anywhere; so i need nicotine (i do use nicotine), vg, pg l.
what do you mix this up in? wouldn't i need refillable juice dispensing bottles (like what the pre made e juice comes in, but so i can fill obviously)? guess not really but ya i'll need that to store it; i can easily figure out how to do this, but i assume u slowly heat th eliquids dissolve everything and gg ur done :), so an erlemyre(sp!!) flask in double boil is probably great, or what do u heat it in what temps do u go for?
okay here's what i got on my noob diy e juice starter kit:
2x 10ml syringe with blunt tip large guage needles [check]
1x 3ml syringe with blunt tip large guage needle [need]
???what device to mix this stuff up in??? [need]
thermometer [do i need?]
VG [need]
PG [need]
flavoring selection [need]
nicotine [need]
2-3 bottles to dispense it [need]

probably missin something; anyone fill in the blanks?
ill get prices when i'm feeling like it

hi there, I am in the same boat... right now I am budgeting for a diy juice kit and I found this old post on ecf...

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...able-kit-mixing-supplies-without-flavors.html

seems pretty legit... it's a good place to start...

dannyv45 gave some good advice and has an ecf blog about diy that I find informative. his blog should be a stickie! :D

The hardest part about his advice is sticking to buying only 3-5 flavors to start with heh. ;b

Like i mentioned, there are sites where you can get everything in a one stop shopping spree haha. The bottles, yes you can buy them from any supplier that sells diy stuff, but just starting out,if you have any empty bottles from your premade stuff, you can wash those out and reuse them.As for the pg/vg/nic there are several vendors selling these, and you can get small sizes to start with to make sure diy is something you want to stick with. Both sites i mentioned previuosly, you could get everything you need to start out with for maybe $40 or so,and this will give you enough supplies to make quite a bit of juice. There are several other sites as well, but those are ones i have used,so they were the ones i remember but there others as well.

Some recommended reading

My blogs will give insight into all aspects of DYI, from steeping to what supplies to have on hand to a basic walk through mixing your first E-juice.

E-Cigarette Forum - dannyv45 - Blogs

Then read hoosier's blogs. These blogs concentrate on fine tuning your mix and give insight on additives.

E-Cigarette Forum - Hoosier - Blogs

Then read Boletus's blog's. These blogs concentrate on formulation of nicotine baces regarding proper calculations methods for figuring Nicotine concentration as well as safety.

E-Cigarette Forum - Boletus - Blogs

Then read Ginger's book "E-Cigarettes 102: DIY E-Liquid". It is a book which I've contributed to that delivers an in depth easy to follow guide in the art of DYI.

I recommend viewing VPLive Vape Team Episode #82: DIY Safety and bookmark it for future reference. It explains safety in all aspects of DYI.

then read the stickies at the top of the page.

this will explain a lot of the how's and why's.

When I started diy, I bought too much of EVERYTHING! This list wont be the perfect kit, but now that ive got a few months under the belt, here is a list of what I end up using the most out of all the stuff I've acquired:

10ml syringe
3ml syringe
A few 1ml syringes
14 and 18 guage blunt tips
PG
VG
100mg nic in PG base ( VG if preferred)
15 and 30ml glass bottles from packaging options direct (I like the glads bottles for heat steeping in the crockpot)
15ml plastic bottles with drip tips bought cheap from china on ebay for easy dispensing and storage of my juices
As far as flavorings go everyone is different. I started with small sample sizes from wizard labs and bull city until I found ones I liked best. Id suggest getting a couple of fruits, a couple tobacco, a couple desert to start. Some flavors that I use in alot of mixes are
vanilla
cream (vienna, sweet, catalan) theres no right one, youll just want to have a cream of some kind
marshmallow
custard (capella is best IMO)
Tobacco( in general hangsen, inawera, and flavor art are favored but tfa have a couple that arent bad
In a rush right now, but keep putting your list together and remember that its best to keep it simple to start. You can always go back and make more orders. The biggest thing to be aware of when shopping is DONT get carried away with flavoring. You're going to want them all but reality is it takes time to try out just a handful so no need to get them all right away.

Regarding bottles for dispensing, all of the ones from pre-made juice I have found have a removable nozzle, so you can pop it off, fill the bottle, and pop it back on. You need to get a fingernail (or similar) under the part where the nozzle attaches to the bottle and pry. So if you have a few of those around, you may be able to save a buck or two.

I found some 1 and 2 OZ squeeze bottles and bought some luer lock caps that I put 14ga blunt tip needles on. They work great for filling cartos

Jensen Global Inc - 1oz. Bottle & Black Luer Lock Cap (20-410 neck)

There a bit expensive but I found the same thing on ebay for cheaper.

I've just put together my supplies and made up some batches. So far looking at your list I would for sure get 2-3 1mil syringes as many recipes will call for sub-mil measurements, especially for the nic, depending on the size of the batch. Usually, I'll only make a 5 mil batch to test with maybe 3-6% nic.
Another thing I'm thinking of adding to my lab supplies are 3 wide mouth jars either from Wizard Labs or I've thought of getting the ones from the container store with the rubber gasket seal. These would be used to pour the bulk VG/PG/Nic into as it is a real pain to try to get the syringe far enough into the bulk bottle hold and read the measurements.
Anyone use the jars with the rubber gaskets? Oh, I found ecigexpress.com has excellent nic/pg/vg and seem like good prices. Also like their chat box if you have questions.

"Prince Albert Pipe Tobacco E-Liquid" nearly made me want to quit vaping. I stumbled upon it by accident and now fully realize even someone with a video named "E-CIG ADVANCED" can be very "strange". I don't believe even in an "emergency" I could vape the "goo" he made in just a few minutes.

Donnie ..... Senile as I am ...... no "Prince Albert" for me.

That was an outrageously bad tutorial for making NET juice, and then he tells people to use any old supermarket food flavoring as well. If you are interested in making NET juice, there is good info in the Liquid Extraction From Tobacco subforum here.

Looks like you have all the essentials; might want some distilled water if not using PG, and don't forget to have a roll of paper towels or similar absorbent handy. Happy mixing.

Thx! What would the water be for? To thin out the juice? I'd rather use pg for that, I'll see how the all VG goes first, pg and distiller water being locally available xd
I should have included paper or cloth towels and the alcohol pads I have. Good catch. Alcohol pads being perfect for unstickying my hands doing rebuildables or leaky tanks

I'll report back. Btw the flavors I got were coffee cola pomegranate crime de menthe and lemonade. I hope they're all vape able iirc there's a sticky with that info I'll check out before using them
