I use predominately Kanger tanks and coils, I have not had gurgling or leakage issues (except for one mini tank, and only because I lost the O-Ring on the base, which I now can fix, because of the new minis now come with a set of extra o-rings ... YAY)
Edit: only had gurgling issues once or twice whilst not using Kanger coils

Are you sure you have it set up properly? I don't mean to sound condescending but I was having the same issue. Kept getting numb tongue and loud gurgling like blowing bubbles in your chocolate milk.

EVENTUALLY, after I had a second pair of eyes look over my set up (eVic and Protank 2) my problem was not tightening everything properly and a missing wick. Double check, recheck, youtube has helped me tremendously.

Good luck!

I don't have leaking outside the tank- my problem is the gurgle- no matter how much I read this forum and try what everyone has to say- I still get the gurggle from liquid flooding on the coil/head...so I can't help ya- but can relate..its so frustrating

Have you tried burping your eVod? Just turn it upside down, put some tissue paper under the mouthpiece and unscrew the base to open it enough to let some air in. If that's too much work, just remember to keep that air tube dry inside--a tissue or a q-tip can be used. Don't forget to dry the condensation that accumulates in the mouthpiece--it tends to drip down the air tube and cause gurgling. If you do this every time you refill, you should be fine. Taking an occasional draw without power also helps to force the eliquid into the atomizing chamber and to remove any air bubbles from the tank.

Just popped on to research this problem with my new setup, so I thought I'd post here first before starting up a new thread.

I've been using Smok Tech Aro tank for about 10 days now, and I've had a ton of leaking. And I do mean leaking... The juice will flow out of the tank and onto the table if I leave the tank on it's side. Curiously, this only starts to happen after the atomizer (bottom coil type) has been installed and used for a few days (usually starts leaking after 2 days, and becomes unusable by day 4).

The problem is pretty clear from what I've seen so far. Comparing the wick on a new coil to a used one, I can see a visible difference. My guess is that the juice is degrading the wick, but I haven't opened one up yet, so it could be that the coil is responsible for wick degradation. To the OP, check your wicks to see if this is the same problem.

Does anybody have any thoughts on this? Anybody know what kind of wick material is on this atty, and what kind of wick won't have that kind of issue?

I don't use Aros--they are just too big for me. In Kangers, I haven't noticed any wick degradation, but I don't use them for a very long time; I soak then in PGA a few times, vape a tankful of unflavored to dissolve some of the gunk, occasionally, but as soon as the flavor and vapor production begin to go south, I just grab a new coil. They are fairly inexpensive.

I'm surprised no one has recommended Vapeonly BCC mini tanks yet.

Cons: They cost more than the average clearomizer style tank. The mini size doesn't hold much juice.
(There is a 3.5 ml size available also, but I haven't tried it so can't comment on it). They don't seem to be as easy to find as other brands. (I've bought mine from litecigusa.net, a company I highly recommend. I think clouds of vapor, smokey's vapor cellar and mad vapes have them too.)

Pros: They've been the most low maintenance tank I've tried by far. They are more stylish and sleek than others. I've had zero issues with leaking, gurgling, etc... even with 100% VG liquid. Drip tip can be changed out (originally was a selling point for me because I have several art glass drip tips I like to use, however, the wide/flat drip tip is surprisingly comfortable).

After having been using Vision Vivi Mini's with solid aluminum tank bodies for a while now, I also found the lighter weight of the Vapeonly to be a nice change. But the main thing for me was NO leaks and NO gurgles... Just fill, vape, relax. :)

I got a mini from Litecig also; it was fine, but for some reason I didn't fall in love... Don't know really why, it was a while ago. Maybe I should revisit it. :D

Okay, so maybe its just me... I've only tried 1 bottle of juice so far, and I've noticed that some can wreak havoc on a poor, unsuspecting coil.

BUT, 2-3 days per atty just isn't going to cut it, even if they are cheap. Before this setup, I was dripping using an 801 penstyle, and I was used to getting weeks/months worth of life out of those little guys. Even if I accepted the short coil life, the more worrying thing is my juice use. Before it was a bottle about every 45 days. After two weeks with this system, I'm getting close to the bottom. I might be vaping a little more than before, but I'm sure the extra is due to leaking.

My SMOKTech Pyrex V2 DCTanks don't leak a drop. Love them. Got them here.

Let me just first say, I am a carto-tank user hands down. Nothing can beat the flavor or the longevity of a carto-tank. I use jonboys, uniques, phiniac, and have tried a few others.
Lately, with all the new stuff coming out I have tried the Iclear-16 and Iclear-30's. The I-clears are actually doing ok, but need at least two refills for the flavor to pop. No leaking. However, cannot say the same for the Iclear-30's. They leaked and gave dry burn hits. Nothing I tried would correct the problem, so in the drawer it went.
The protank II however, I do like. Flavor starts to pop on 2nd refill. NO fuss.

But if asked, my favs are still carto-tanks.

:)

Where are you filling it from? Some people read the directions and it says to fill from the top. You have to fill it from the bottom through the silicone cap. Use a needle bottle or a syringe. If you get any liquid outside the cap, it will get into the air tubes and you will get it in your mouth. Also never let the tank get less than 10% empty.
Sometimes if I get a little juice in the airtube, I put a piece of paper or napkin in the bottom where the cap is and blow through the moutpiece. It will clear the liquid out of the air tubes. I really love these things, but it is as all of them a learning curve.

I'm pretty sure I was filling it correctly, through that center hole in the white plastic cap on the bottom of the tank. I know that if you don't get it just right, liquid will end up in the air slots on other side of the tank, and end up going right out through the mouthpiece.

I got another BCC clearomizer on the weekend, a Davide, which is a gem, I really like it, and not a drop of leakage since day one.

I'm going to try the eGo-CC again at some point; I've learned a lot in the past few weeks (mostly through this forum), and maybe i'll find that poor beginner's vaping technique is related to the leaking I was getting with that clearo, which was my very first.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Regards
Glenn

Everything I've owned has accumulated a little bit of liquid on the battery over the course of the day. Very minor and i just wipe it off. In that sense I would call these clearomizers non-leaking and non-flooding:

- Vision Nano
- Vision 2.0 (CE5)
- Kanger Protank II
- Glass Aspire BDC (maybe the most trouble free thing I own)
- Kanger E-Smart
- Kanger T4 (condensation in the mouthpiece, but I was a noob then)

The most leaky and flooding thing I've owned is the Smoktech Pyrex Aro. Maybe I got a lemon but with 3 heads that thing was a juice straw and leaked constantly thru the bottom. Never again.

Tank/carto, it's the carto that's the problem if you are getting flooding. I had no end of flooding with cheap smoktech crap, however my Boge's never flooded. I got a fair amount of seepage with my Iclear 30 mostly when I layed the device any way other than standing.
My pro-tank II is a champ when it comes to leakage , the only time it ever leaked was when I took it on a plane.

Pop science quiz what happens to a bottom fed clearo when the external atmospheric pressure drops?

All bottom coil tanks leak as far as I can tell to a certain degree. I upgraded to a Tatroe tank from Cigtech and I have not had really any problems with it. It uses Protank coils and I rebuild those with a stainless wick with a few 1mm silica pieces on top to fill the rest of the cup channel. It does leak very small amounts if you vape the juice all the way down and if you refill after vaping it all the way down. That's it. No gurgling or disastrous leaks. I use it as my all day out and about tank. It looks great and I have 100% confidence in it. Being all SS is what makes it work so well. No seams except at the bottom. Superior vacuum, etc. They are pricey but worth every penny. My :2c:
