I have 9 tanks and they all spit ... juice in my mouth and gurgle. I am getting sick of it. The iclear30 is the only one that doesnt but it looks ......ed on all my nice mods! I know its not the look that matters but i think the iclear30 looks dumb. Any of you have tanks that dont leak and spit juice into your mouth? Heres some i have that all leak. Dc tank, anyvape davide, x8, x6, kanger, ce4. Anyone?i feel like i will quit vaping if i dont find some good tank setups

I feel your pain! I had the same problem with my first few clearomizers -- a real shame because one of them set a standard for taste and vapor richness that nothing else has reached.

I got a Vivi Nova mini last week and it doesn't leak a drop. The taste is a tiny bit inconsistent, and the draw is a little tight, but i'm wondering if I can help that by enlarging the two airholes on the ring that comes with it. I'm also planning on trying a couple other clearomizers that I've heard good things about.

Regards
Glenn

The new Joye Ego CC doesn't leak at all. Have had mine a couple months now, and it works great! Great vapor, and great taste.

I agree with you about the great vapor and great taste, but unfortunately mine leaks like a sieve. I swear I drank more e-liquid than I vaped using my eGo-CC, even though everyone tells me they're leak proof (including the store where I bought, which has refused to take it back).

Maybe I just got a bad one.

Where are you filling it from? Some people read the directions and it says to fill from the top. You have to fill it from the bottom through the silicone cap. Use a needle bottle or a syringe. If you get any liquid outside the cap, it will get into the air tubes and you will get it in your mouth. Also never let the tank get less than 10% empty.
Sometimes if I get a little juice in the airtube, I put a piece of paper or napkin in the bottom where the cap is and blow through the moutpiece. It will clear the liquid out of the air tubes. I really love these things, but it is as all of them a learning curve.

Hi Kenny and welcome to the forum.

First, let me tell you that I never had a leaky tank--ever. And they don't spit juice in my mouth either. So there is hope for you too!

Second, there are different issues with different kinds of tanks. Carto tanks are nothing like Kanger ProTanks, for example. CE4 is old technology and not worth the trouble, IMO.

Iclear is a dual coil design--different animal.

Davide and Kanger are very similar (so is the eVod and T3)--those also happen to be my favorite clearos (tanks) and totally worth the trouble of learning how to use them properly, so here are some tips:

Troubleshooting 101:

If your clearo is flooding, the connections are not tight enough--or too tight. Keep reading.

If you're using clearos and getting a burnt taste it means that not enough juice is getting to the coil and you're basically vaping dry, hot air or inhaling smoke from the gunk that's burning off of your coil. Not a good thing. Another case of bad taste maybe the tank itself--some arrive covered with some kind of nasty grease; wash them with soap and water (just the tanks--soak the coils in PGA or vodka).

There are a few things you need to remember when using a T3 or an eVod or a ProTank--in addition to keeping your coils clean and free of gunk that accumulates on them.

1) Make sure that the atomizer coil is screwed into the base tightly--every time you refill; they often come not fully tightened from the manufacturer, or may have gotten loose through repeated refills.

2) Look at all the inner seals and gaskets to make sure they haven't become dislodged.

3) Make sure that you screw the tank into its base tightly. If it's not tight, it will leak.

4) When you screw your clearomizer into your battery, do not overtighten--screw it in only until it makes contact--no farther, or you may push the center post in too deep and cause all kinds of problems, including leaking. When the draw becomes tight or the taste and vapor production begin to diminish, replace the coil. This will happen sooner (even as soon as one day of heavy use) if you're using dark, viscous, or very sweet juices. The old coil can be cleaned and dry burned.

5) Make sure you're not getting any juice in the center tube when you're filling--this will cause your eVod to leak like a sieve. If some juice gets into the tube, close the top cap, place a tissue under your tank and blow gently through the clearomizer to get rid of any excess eliquid. Also, extra condensation inside the tank may, on some occasions, drip back into the center tube. Wipe your mouthpiece dry with a q-tip or a tissue when you refill (or more often when/if needed).

6) Take an occasional "primer puff" (a slow draw without activating the battery) when you vape. It helps move the juice into the coil chamber and removes any air bubbles that sometimes form in the tank and may cause gurgling or impede proper wicking.

7) Take slow long draws rather than sharp and quick ones like we used to do while smoking cigarettes. Do not over vape, chain vape, power vape. Let the juice travel to the coil between drags.

and last but not least

8) Do not remove any flavor wicks if you're experiencing any leaking or flooding. Those wicks are there for a reason. If you feel that you have to remove a wick because your eliquid is particularly thick, do it carefully--one strand at a time.

Also, make sure you're vaping at correct wattage.

Good luck!

Katya, you know I love your posts, and this is another one that is spot on! What amazes me is that you seem to never grow tired of going into great detail to help your fellow vapers out, and after 12,500+ posts and counting, it's amazing wonderful to see, and I wanted to thank you for this. I'll even help you polish your halo if you need another hand. Thank you again for your generosity of spirit and the tireless way you answer this question (for probably the 5.000th time). Kudos! Wish I had advice like this when I was new. Vape On!

Well. I tried and use protank clone, protank1, protank1 mini, evod, iclear 16s/30s, some ce4/5 atomizers and also rbas like rsst and cobra clone.

They all leaked, at least once...

Make sure you dont overtighten anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! O-rings arent there to be squished because they wont do the job well and the tank will flood (heavily) at some point.

Thank you Bill. You're too kind.

Do you want to know my secret? It's called copy and paste. ;) Since certain questions are asked frequently, I'm ready to strike--after some modifications. :p

Just don't tell anybody!

Doesn't change a thing, little birdie. Look at the care and thought that goes into this type of response. So helpful! I have a few copy and paste responses as well, and still use them from time to time, so I understand the effort that goes into this. Still, you have to want to help others and be willing to go that extra step to do this. I just think you deserve our admiration, acknowledgement and respect from time to time, because it is a labor of love to come here every day and answer the same questions, over and over, and, like many others, appreciate your kindness and service to others. Remarkable Forum Asset, and why this place works at all. Thanks again! My :2c:...

Just popped on to research this problem with my new setup, so I thought I'd post here first before starting up a new thread.

I've been using Smok Tech Aro tank for about 10 days now, and I've had a ton of leaking. And I do mean leaking... The juice will flow out of the tank and onto the table if I leave the tank on it's side. Curiously, this only starts to happen after the atomizer (bottom coil type) has been installed and used for a few days (usually starts leaking after 2 days, and becomes unusable by day 4).

The problem is pretty clear from what I've seen so far. Comparing the wick on a new coil to a used one, I can see a visible difference. My guess is that the juice is degrading the wick, but I haven't opened one up yet, so it could be that the coil is responsible for wick degradation. To the OP, check your wicks to see if this is the same problem.

Does anybody have any thoughts on this? Anybody know what kind of wick material is on this atty, and what kind of wick won't have that kind of issue?

I'm surprised no one has recommended Vapeonly BCC mini tanks yet.

Cons: They cost more than the average clearomizer style tank. The mini size doesn't hold much juice.
(There is a 3.5 ml size available also, but I haven't tried it so can't comment on it). They don't seem to be as easy to find as other brands. (I've bought mine from litecigusa.net, a company I highly recommend. I think clouds of vapor, smokey's vapor cellar and mad vapes have them too.)

Pros: They've been the most low maintenance tank I've tried by far. They are more stylish and sleek than others. I've had zero issues with leaking, gurgling, etc... even with 100% VG liquid. Drip tip can be changed out (originally was a selling point for me because I have several art glass drip tips I like to use, however, the wide/flat drip tip is surprisingly comfortable).

After having been using Vision Vivi Mini's with solid aluminum tank bodies for a while now, I also found the lighter weight of the Vapeonly to be a nice change. But the main thing for me was NO leaks and NO gurgles... Just fill, vape, relax. :)

To Katya: I've been vaping for over a year, yet your post with all the info on tanks has given me a lot of really helpful information I did not know. Thank you!

Thank you for your kind words. :)

The problem with Kanger BCCs is that they are very nice when you know how to use them properly. They are not plug and play, unfortunately...

I'm a clearomizer guy so here's my 2 cents... My T3 has been problem free since I got it, the only tank I can truly say that about. And yet it's still not my favorite. I use my T2 the most (get a drip tip for it, the original pops off ), and I've also got a Mini Protank II that I loved at first but now I'm having a hard time deciding where it sits on the totem pole. Either it's too airy or the little holes get clogged up with who knows what and won't pull enough air, but extra voltage helps lol. I started with CE4s, seriously don't bother. CE5s are a little better but still finicky and sometimes flood or burn the wicks for no apparent reason. Your mileage may vary...
