The iClear 16 and two Kanger E-smarts haven't leaked for me. The Vision Nano has some gurgling after you fill it but it goes away after a couple of vapes.

The Smoktech Pyrex Aro has been the worst tank I've owned so far. With 3 different heads I had eventual leaking and gurgling. Either the tank was faulty or it just stinks. I'm not seeing how it was user error. I fill it with liquid and vape, very gently. I did put toothpicks in the airholes because it's too airy, but it leaked before that too.

I just ordered a 5-pack of cartomizers from Halo cause I'm kind of getting sick of clearos at the moment.

Kenny,

The phenomenon you are describing is called "flooding" not leaking. Leaking is the tank actually letting juice drip out onto your device, pocket, etc. Flooding is having too much juice get onto the coils causing gurgle and excess juice coming up the tube into your mouth.

Flooding is usually caused by drawing too hard on a clogged carto thereby forcing too much juice onto the coil and up the tube. Everyone gets this once in awhile especially on carto tanks either with two holes punched or even one. It also depends on the quality of the cartos which are not produced under "strict" quality control. Some of my cartos have lasted two and three weeks, others only one or two days with the same juice, same battery device and same technique of vaping.

A great tank is the Artemas, available at surevapes.com along with the Smoktech flanged cartos that are used in this locking tank. Both are relatively inexpensive compared to a lot of tanks, work well, produce nice taste and vapor and do not leak. They do however flood like you experienced. Which by the way is not the fault of the tank, but the cartos. When that happens, I usually just empty the tank, tape up the hole (I use single punched, single coil cartos) and vape just the carto (outside of the tank) for awhile, using up a lot of the juice. Then I reinstall the carto back into the tank and try again. This does not happen often, but depends again on the juice, vape technique and quality of the carto.

Best Wishes

I love my Protank minis, I have a Protank mini and a protank 2 mini and I love them both and have had no trouble outta them since I figured out I like them with one air hole blocked..... I have read others say if you get one that leaks or gurgles don't tighten it so tight.... I always remember that just in case it ever happens to me.....

good luck :)

Second that, I dont know if its due to the size of the protank mini but the draw and taste seem to be much better then all the other clearo and tank systems i've tried. I even prefer the mini more then the regular size protanks.

No. Every clearo tank that uses bottom flow air control has the potential to leak, meaning, in at least a perfect storm kinda way it will leak. The key is recognizing flooding, clearing, correcting and refilling, before leaking.

My carto tanks don't leak, but they're not that easy to refill and change out the carto either, though it can be done, carefully. No, I think the best we can hope for in a clearo is to catch flooding before leaking. Good luck to you!

I have 9 tanks and they all spit ... juice in my mouth and gurgle. I am getting sick of it. The iclear30 is the only one that doesnt but it looks ......ed on all my nice mods! I know its not the look that matters but i think the iclear30 looks dumb. Any of you have tanks that dont leak and spit juice into your mouth? Heres some i have that all leak. Dc tank, anyvape davide, x8, x6, kanger, ce4. Anyone?i feel like i will quit vaping if i dont find some good tank setups

Hi Kenny and welcome to the forum.

First, let me tell you that I never had a leaky tank--ever. And they don't spit juice in my mouth either. So there is hope for you too!

Second, there are different issues with different kinds of tanks. Carto tanks are nothing like Kanger ProTanks, for example. CE4 is old technology and not worth the trouble, IMO.

Iclear is a dual coil design--different animal.

Davide and Kanger are very similar (so is the eVod and T3)--those also happen to be my favorite clearos (tanks) and totally worth the trouble of learning how to use them properly, so here are some tips:

Troubleshooting 101:

If your clearo is flooding, the connections are not tight enough--or too tight. Keep reading.

If you're using clearos and getting a burnt taste it means that not enough juice is getting to the coil and you're basically vaping dry, hot air or inhaling smoke from the gunk that's burning off of your coil. Not a good thing. Another case of bad taste maybe the tank itself--some arrive covered with some kind of nasty grease; wash them with soap and water (just the tanks--soak the coils in PGA or vodka).

There are a few things you need to remember when using a T3 or an eVod or a ProTank--in addition to keeping your coils clean and free of gunk that accumulates on them.

1) Make sure that the atomizer coil is screwed into the base tightly--every time you refill; they often come not fully tightened from the manufacturer, or may have gotten loose through repeated refills.

2) Look at all the inner seals and gaskets to make sure they haven't become dislodged.

3) Make sure that you screw the tank into its base tightly. If it's not tight, it will leak.

4) When you screw your clearomizer into your battery, do not overtighten--screw it in only until it makes contact--no farther, or you may push the center post in too deep and cause all kinds of problems, including leaking. When the draw becomes tight or the taste and vapor production begin to diminish, replace the coil. This will happen sooner (even as soon as one day of heavy use) if you're using dark, viscous, or very sweet juices. The old coil can be cleaned and dry burned.

5) Make sure you're not getting any juice in the center tube when you're filling--this will cause your eVod to leak like a sieve. If some juice gets into the tube, close the top cap, place a tissue under your tank and blow gently through the clearomizer to get rid of any excess eliquid. Also, extra condensation inside the tank may, on some occasions, drip back into the center tube. Wipe your mouthpiece dry with a q-tip or a tissue when you refill (or more often when/if needed).

6) Take an occasional "primer puff" (a slow draw without activating the battery) when you vape. It helps move the juice into the coil chamber and removes any air bubbles that sometimes form in the tank and may cause gurgling or impede proper wicking.

7) Take slow long draws rather than sharp and quick ones like we used to do while smoking cigarettes. Do not over vape, chain vape, power vape. Let the juice travel to the coil between drags.

and last but not least

8) Do not remove any flavor wicks if you're experiencing any leaking or flooding. Those wicks are there for a reason. If you feel that you have to remove a wick because your eliquid is particularly thick, do it carefully--one strand at a time.

Also, make sure you're vaping at correct wattage.

Good luck!

Any leaking problems I've encountered on my PT's has always been remedied by a little fiddling with the heads.

IMO that's really the problem, insufficient wicking that allows too much fluid getting sucked in. It's not the tank itself per se.

I've just started experimenting with cotton balls as flavor wicks and have has zero flooding or leaking.
