Anybody buy a GG fuse yet?

I ordered mine and the button magnets. I want my Storm to be up to date.

I ordered the fuse kit thinking my brand new #348 would be totally up-to-date but nooooo, haha - I'm already behind on the times with my antiquated brand new GGTS I want those magnets!!

fuse will not let batteries get hot at all Port, so its more than safe. Exept batteries deside to explode without a short but I think this is impossible. Of course we also have the venting holes so we are totally safe

Agreed my friend, all i meant was that a protected battery is as safe as using the fuse in the sense that i purchased the fuse so i can use some unprotected batteries (wow what a crappy English this sounds).

My English are more crappy than yours Port, so no worries

Protected batteries arent really safe because the cirquit they have inside them can be tricked by the current or can be damaged by many reasons too

I'm having a problem with my fuses. Vapor production is way down when I use the fuse upgrade. I thought it was my battery running low on charge, but I put a fresh battery in (18650) and there was no change. My Tornado was giving me better vapor production, and that's just not right! After changing out the fuse and putting the standard spring bottom back in, vapor production goes back to what it's supposed to be like. I changed out the fuse spring to see it that was the problem, but it still has much reduced vapor when the fuse kit is installed. Am I doing something wrong? All my equipment is brand new, batteries and all, but the fuse kit is the only thing that seems to be the problem. Is this normal?

Tenfour, yes, there's a problem...Sorry, but I can't help you, don't know what the problem is...

I just receive the fuse kit, put it in my GGTS (very easy), and I've got the same vapor than before...

Changed mine today perfect but did sand and clean, all i can suggest is make sure brass and switch contact is clean

I'll pick up some cleaner today and see if that changes anything. Everything is brand new though, so I wouldn't expect that to be the problem.. we'll see.

smoke is exactly the same Ten my friend because spring I put inside has zero resistance. Maybe small pieces of metal are inside the fuse from the machining procedure.
So, please disasemble the fuse and dig a little the hole that spring sits with a small screwdriver. Then blow inside the hole. Close your eyes while you are blowing. Assemble the fuse and try again


ps......... you can also tight the telescope a little more

to me i thought my fuses lowered the resistance a little bit..

the spring does add more resistance. but its better to be safe than sorry.

tenfour I had the same symptoms and tried to meter the resistance of the spring but the multimeter got crazy, it went from "no circuit" to 15 and back again. When in fuse, resistance was about 12 Ohm :O

The solution that worked for me is simple and the result was ZERO resistance. I just sanded the side of the spring that goes into the fuse. It might be that some springs happen to have some dirt or something and with little sanding it goes away. Hope it works for you.

Maybe yes but dont put Noalox inside fuse because Noalox will keep the current flow even if a short happens buddy.

sanded the spring and scratched up the inside bottom of where it sits a bit, bIG difference on my unit, I noticed it running a Low Resistance Atty with an AW 18650, NOW its kicking better than the Ego I had the LR on and the GGTS runs like the Ferrari it is and I have plumes of vapor..!!! IMEO you DA MAN..!!

Guys, the spring has only 0,1 ohm resistance, that means that the smoke is reduced by 3%. That happens because spring is really thin so it can respond to changes of the current. Fuses on the stores have much more resistance because they have very thin wire inside them.
5% is of course a reduce on GG's performance but its not a big deal comparing to other cigs and of course as Kenny said better safe than sorry just to win 3% more smoke.
Jumi is also right about sanding the spring a little. Even a small dirt dont let current flow easily. Thats a law on physics. The bigger surfaces touch each other the more easy current will flow. Thats one reason that GG dont have power loss.

If a short happens then the spring of the front cap will get shrinked. But thats not safe because spring is hard to keep batteries in place so it will let batteries go very hot before it gets shinked. 2 GGs are already explode as many other mods but GG has the venting holes so it didnt broke any teeths or jaws of people. With fuse we are totally safe

Best precaution to take for now until you get the fuse is to get a digital voltage meter for around $15 and check your batteries here and there. Its good to have when dealing with sets of batteries. I vape at 7.2v on the GGTS all day and night and the crc123's have lasted me 2-3 days without charging. (personally i only vape now at 7.2 with a I7 atty) I got spoiled! lol) I change them daily to be on the safe side and check the voltage now and then.
