Agree with all- NOT SMOKING matters plenty. When you stopped, matters less if at all.
I know about when, but not the day- it was late March, I'd just stopped smoking in my study. (It's separate from the rest of the apartment, but the smell travelled a little. Wife was pregnant, and the smell bothered her, which it hadn't before.
I wanted something to get me through so I didn't have to interupt work to go outside and smoke. I had no intention of quitting, but it's a common enough story.
Bought an ecig to be a "dual user," vaping some and smoking some. Had a open pack of cigs in my pocket when I bought the ecig. Smoked maybe two that day, one the next day. Had the 6 or 8 cigs left in the pack in my pocket for a week, had one- yuck.
Gave the rest to a stranger who asked for a cigarette the next week.
Been 8 or 9 months, I think. DOn't know if I'll smoke again. Won't ever be a PAD smoker again.
