Oh you bet , I'm very ashamed. Hiding in my shame cave right now !!! Seriously though, fog a whole room and watch the smokers flock to you in anticipation of something incredible.

I never really smoked "openly." I never did it in the car (didn't want it to smell for my fiancee) and rarely smoked around people in general, I'd always go find a corner to be alone in to smoke (especially after they banned it on my school campus)

With my PV I'm a bit shy, mainly because I don't want to draw attention to myself and have to explain things. I still go find corners with no one around.

I smoked openly for years and I realize now that that was a LOT more embarassing than vaping openly. Besides, vaping makes for a heck of an icebreaker.

I'll vape in restaurants and the like but I usually go to the bathroom to do it. I use the "luxury suite" and get my unit in one hand and my pv in the other and vape away. I always leave pondering if anyone else goes in after me and wonders how I get my booty to smell like waffles.

btw...what Stownz is vaping is a ProVari with a Map Tank. I should know as it is what I am using too.

I was self conscious for the first couple of weeks but not anymore. I was standing outside the airport terminal vaping between flights today and a skycap asked me about it and said that he "needs to try one of those", hopefully he ends up a convert. Next some guy came out and was digging in his bag for a light but couldn't find it so he asks me for a light as I was dragging on the PV. I blew out the vapor and said "no, sorry". I guess he realized what I had and said "oh", that was it, I was hoping for a followup question or two.

Yeah, now that I can smell who the smokers are, I know how other people could smell me. I find it odd that so many people I've met didn't know I smoked though. I've always hated smoking though (even before I started), so I really tried to keep the smell off me . . . maybe that's why.

I started out a bit shy about using it in more public venues. But after awhile I've gotten used to being more open with it. Now my wife on the other hand gets angry with me when I use it a somewhere like a retail store or a restaurant. I'm not making it blatantly obvious by blowing clouds of vapor or trying to start an argument with someone that don't get it. But after having to use analogues outside and be ashamed of being a "smoker" I like the freedom vaping has given me. I've increased my openness at work and so far everyone seems to be interested or supportive. You always get a few that have to be negative but I view this as an opportunity to explain my views and tell them my years of unsuccessful attempts to quit. The story ends with my PV and the health benefits that were achieved.

Not me, do it openly pretty much everywhere. I'm a US Army Contractor, so I don't do it in front of the Colonels or at big meetings, but at work I do it all day. Was only asked not to vape FSUSA French Toast in the building (made the office smell like IHOP). Been stopped a few times out, but that's about it...

Then again, I live in Korea where things are a bit different. A few weeks ago my wife pulled up to the pub to get me, we were going to the movies... I just got a fresh Guinness. Guinness in hand I get in the car (she's driving), and enjoyed a not so good movie with a beer and a PV.
