Just remember that we all smoked for years and years.

This is something NEW, and takes some time to get used to.

I remember when I first started how frustrated I was....

A blu, a sidesho, a 510, an M401, a Kr808, various mods....when does it end?

..and then I realized, I'm not smoking.

That's just gotta be good enough for me.

:)

Research is a big part with this. I'm on my second day using my 510, and I've already used up one sample juice. I tried smoking a pipe yrs ago and this 510 works kinda the same. I can chain smoke 3 packs of cigs in a day no problem, this 510 doesnt work like a cig does. The nicotine level in the juice is important also, as a heavy smoker my personnel tastes have me using 16 to 18mg, the 24mg made me high. Remember this is only my second day and only 3 juices so far. I have 3 orders on the way already. Oh ya I still had a couple regular cigs today also, its your life quit the way that works for you. My normal cig bill for me and the wife is $90.00 a week from costco, my 510 kit was from awesomevapor for less than $50.00. In the seasonal sale area here (ECF) there is a dual ego kit on sale, but I cant find enough imfo on the company yet.

I've stocked up on enough stuff to last me a year, if I count only the essentials it would some up to about 300 bucks (not counting the the juice for the after my 4month supply). Now if you figure out the amount of analogs you'd smoke in one year (in my case 1(pack) x 7(days a week)=7x 6.50(per pack)=45.5(a week)x52(weeks a year)=$2366 (dollars a year on analogs). Even if you bought cartons it still be roughly $1820 dollars a year.

e-cig= $300(on basics and first 4 months) + another and approx. $200 on juice (for the other 8 months)= $500per year

Analogs= between $1820 to $2366per year

not hard to look at the math you just have to look at your ROI (return on investment) and see if the initial investment is worth it to you. Pay now or pay later in the end you still pay. At least your offered one route where you can save your health in the process. This is all my opinion and how I look at it though. I really only started vaping b/c I went back to school and you can't smoke on campus, and yes I'm also guilty of buying more things that I need in this new hobby of vaping but I can promise you it still doesn't add up to more the 2k.

I get your intention. But your math seems off to me. How do you get $200 a year for juice? how much juice per day at what price per ml? At 5ml a day @ $.50 per ml, I'm getting $910. Yes I know 5ml is a lot, but ATM I have had days like this. Average user is at about 3ml per day. @$.50 per ml I come up with $546 per year. I know you recently bought from vaporbomb, so I know the cost would be higher per year @ 3ml per day.

200 bucks a year on juice? I wish!!

However, I know nothing about DIY. If you are an inventive DIY person, who knows the money you save.

My juice sorta breaks down to:

2 ml a day = 60 ml a month. 15.00/30 ml = 30.00

30 x 12 = 360?

Thats just for my all day vape. I spend a lot more on new flavors, samples and whatnot that I rarely end up using. Also, some vape days are heavier than others.

As far as the cost goes....like alot of people have said...initial investment may seem high but it levels out.

People so far have failed to mention the medical costs as well. Having been recently diagnosed with pleurisy (an inflammation of the lining of the lungs not caused by smoking but extremely aggrevated by it) We recently paid an ER bill that was over 500$ which included a breathing treatment. My father-in-law has emphasema he is on oxygen 24-7...insurance pays most of it but there is still his deductible plus all the other medications he's on. My mother-in-law has heart disease she pays over 60$ per month in her medications and that is WITH a drug plan....the actual cost of the drugs would be well over 500$ per month. So I'm thinking that a 300$ investment now that will save me thousands later is well worth the investment. (Opps forgot to mention chemo for cancer which is also extremely expensive) Another thing is my SON will be healthier too since I'm not smoking around him anymore and I would literally pay any amount of money to make his life better (well, if I could afford it LOL)
Basically, its a benefit vs risk assessment and u have to decide what's best for you but for me it's a no brainer.

the 200 was a rough estimate of only 8months. I stated in my post I have enough juice in my estimate to last me the first 4months. Right now I only vape about 3ml a day. I regulate my vape sessions just like analogs (about 10 puffs a session) on 18-24mg of liquid. I have a lil less then 300ml left of juice which should last me the 3/4 of the 4 months. Just how I figured it. My point though was it still doesn't add up to the 2k a year smoking analogs.

I got your point. But you did state $200 for a year not 8 months. I feel, if you are gonna throw figures around to make a point, they should be accurate. With that being said... yes it's cheaper than smoking and a "healthier" alternative.

I am with the others that suggest it's your equipment that is giving you the biggest problem.

Money wise, initially you will spend more but once you get yourself setup with the right equipment it's cheaper that analogs.

If you want as little work as possible, less hassles I suggest the two piece setup and suggest the Vapor King from Vapor4Life.

I started out two months ago on these PV kits and I haven't smoke a single analog since then and I have been smoking for more than 35 years.

Don't give up, hang in there and research some of the equipment. People here have great suggestions and have gone through so much finding out about the products.

I've been vaping since April and yes I do get frustrated with the dripping, changing batts, yada yada. BUT as posted above there is a tremendous learning curve. I blew 5 atty's by listening to bad advice. I do seem to be spending at least as much money as if I'd been buying analogues but my house doesn't stink, there aren't burn holes in my clothes and carpet I don't have ashes everywhere and I'm not killing my lungs. That said, even with all the hassle, I feel that when I get it down pat (believe it or not, I'm still learning how to inhale) it will be better. Had I known at the beginning what I know now I would have saved a lot of time and money. It's just a new thing.

So yeah, get mad, scream and yell, bo back to analogues and believe me you'll throw them out they taste so bad. EgHHHH YUCK. Then reevaluate.

Whiteboy, I think you have a decent kit. According to your posts (other threads) you are having atty trouble. Get some spares and you might want to get some cartomizers. Practice a bit and you'll soon be a pro. We've all had frustrating days. It's likely we'll all have more of them, too. It's worth it to me to struggle some and have some frustration as I figure this out. All I have to do is remember what my many other quit attempts were like and know that no matter how momentarily aggravated I get vaping, it still beats smoking.

I hope today is a better day for you!

I should add that since my outlay all Ive bought is juices (can't seem to STOP buying those lol) and spare atties (can never have enough spares). I think one month I got an extra PT as well. All in all it works out NOW to less than half what I spent on a carton of cigs a week - actually even less than that even cos I don't buy things every week, or every month. I didn't start vaping to save cash though, i started as an alternative to smoking which was making me feel ill. I have saved money though, (I am actually less sick now, less flu less general illness so less doctor visits) and given up puffing the cancer sticks along the way lol

I'm with CaptJay, I too purchase probably more liquid than anything and atty's to make sure that I'm never without. However the trip to this point has definitely been a learning experience, but if you can look at it like a positive choice for yourself and others around you in the long run, the time it takes to find the right equipment and juice will well be worth it. Initially I spent big bucks getting this down, but my overall health has improved and I too did not start vaping because I wanted to quit smoking. Just wanted a healthier alternative. Now the savings is impossible to avoid and in NY cigarettes are over $10 a pack and I was a carton a week smoker, so it's pretty much a no brainer now. Stick with it, do what you need to do to get you through the learning curve, keep asking questions, you will most likely be happy that you stuck with it. Good luck

Come here and vent anytime. Most of us have been through it. Some will try the verbal slap to get your attention and some will try a more maternalistic helpful tone, but everyone is trying to help.

You know the device has promise, or you wouldn't have come this far.

You have a good foundation with the 510, but, sorry, it's just the beginning. The hard part is ahead. Learning to vape correctly. It seems silly, but it's a huge step toward satisfaction. And it's not even the hard part.

The hardest part, for most of us on this journey, is the juice. Finding the flavors that bring real satisfaction. Then the nic level that kills the cravings. Like many here, I disliked every flavor that sounded good and ended up finding "that" flavor with one I bought on a wild whim that sounded completely weird.

I also did not have a set "quit" date. I smoked as I needed and vaped when I could. Took my time and one day realized I did not smoke the day before. I still have 9 packs from a carton in the back of my vehicle and no desire to smoke them.

So, breathe. Relax. Get another pack of cigs. Read around on here and vape. Take it as it comes. Take the stress of quitting out of the equation.

I have spent probably close to $250 so far. most of that was for a kit i payed WAY to much for....if i would have searched online you could cut $100 off that figure.

I am happy, like real happy, and I am running an rn4081 like the smallest ecig ever.

i just got my passthrough yesterday, some blank cartomizers, and some new liquids and i am set, happy newby camper
