It really bums me out because I would like to so I feel like tar and crap is cleaning out. I actually always look forward to this part of quitting because I feel like it would be a whole cleansing process.

Believe me... if you keep vaping only, without smoking, and in a few months, you decide to try a cigarette, just out of curiousity, that cigarette will actually taste like a cigar, and the smoke will feel so heavy in your lungs that it will seem like you are starting smoking again, just like it felt 20 years ago... then you will know the tar and crap have indeed cleaned out...! True story... I can surelly confirm that...!

I am also smoke free for about 70 days after being a PAD smoker for 25 years. I have not had the "cleansing" cough either. I can't say that I don't mind either. Prior to vaping, I had a bad hacking cough every morning. So bad that my daughter would always ask if daddy was okay. That morning cough was gone almost immediately after switching to vaping and that's good enough for me.

If you quit before the bellringer hit your heart, congrats.nothing like an ex smoker pressing their thoughts on others, being all rightous and holier that thou, wait thats me and you and we are still alive?, where is the bocce court, I want to put the little ball so close to nirvana that all tell me its wonderful and no one can touch it.I desire old age , with rage.

Angie, one non cough it out aspect that is fun to see is your fingernails.A lot of smokers have black rings on their finger nails, it may take longer that 70 days but they go away 100%, mine took like 4 months but wow, enjoy the switch.

Really, wish you had taken a pic of your "black rings on your finger nails" because I've have NEVER seen this before on a smoker or NON smoker. Except maybe with fingernail polish. Very strange indeed...:glare:

WTH r u seriously talking about? Bellringer hit my heart...a drug reference, really? Please enlighten me how this is correlating to my original question. Some people get a bellringer, some don't? Some cough some don't? ....WOW it took a poem to explain that? More people on these threads talk about the quit cough and i didnt read those who didnt get that. Is it wrong to ask?

I'm not much of a poetic person but rather prefer to say it how it is...Im not pressing thoughts but merely asking questions then after i get answers, maybe I will reach "nirvana". Thx for the input....

Bellringer was a horrible touch, but quitting smokes and not having the idea of that bad event was my thought. Not a great give in the thought of smoking is bad, my bad.People do have issues with cigs everyday never seen one call a bus is all.

Thx for the clarification. Not trying to call a bus and in fact if you read some posts to my original questions, others have wondered about this too. Just curious as to why I'm not clearing out my lungs like others have described on here countless times re: the quit cough. It's talked about a lot on these threads specifically w/noobs questioning why they're coughing so much when they first vape. Any quit smoke site for that matter talks about the quit cough actually. So if you don't get it, it's kind of alarming as to why, hence the question.

Pretty simple, not convoluted, not trying to wish upon myself to hack up a lung or anyone else for that matter...just wondering...that's all. So you think of it as bad, I thought of it as an act of cleansing.....

Admittedly I've only been vaping for about 2 months but I actually wish the coughs would stop. I coughed all the time at my desk when I used to smoke (not at my desk though). About 2-3 weeks in my cough actually get pretty bad that I started not inhaling the vape into longs and would just suck into my mouth and exhale through nose. I'm now vaping into my lungs again but don't think anywhere near as deep as I did with smoking. I still cough even when I get a good vape hit...so I'm the opposite of the OP. How long is the coughing supposed to last. I figured 2 months would have been enough.

If you search EFC, there's actually more info about coughing after quitting vs not coughing. I don't have an answer (I'm the original OP-no cough) but if your throat is irritated and its a real dry cough, possibly could be an irritation to either PG or VG as well.

Yeah I remember seeing a post about it I just don't remember how long it lasted...or the average period that it lasted. I think they said it would be more of a PG thing as that it was causes the throat hit sensation more than the VG.

Also read somewhere that some people could be slightly allergic to PG but I think I would have figured that out by now. The main coughing period was between my 2nd and 3rd week. Now it seems back on par with what it was when I was smoking.

I was a serious hacker when I was smoking. It has cleared up pretty fast. I was told about two years ago I had the beginning signs of emphysema and I was fighting some sort of bronchitis 9 days ago when I bought my ego-t. I had tried the cigalikes when I was told I was showing signs of a problem but they just didn't cut it. I am amazed at how quickly my coughing stopped. Hopefully my lungs will get back to a reasonable facsimile of normal and I get to watch all three of my kids grow up.
