The kabuki cannot take a larger tank due to the construction method. It's parts screw together to form the chamber and set the juice flow. IN THEORY, one could alter the juice flow to the wick by unscrewing the top cap, and thus exposing more of the wicking holes to the tank's interior, which would then allow you to use a slightly larger tank. This is not really practical, however, as your gains would be negligible and in all probability cause leaking. In order for the kabuki to accept a larger capacity, one of two things (or both) needs to happen. A channel would have to be cut into the top cap around the 'chimney' section deep enough to get another milliliter or so in the tank (a la Kayfun top caps), or the 'chimney section would need to be elongated so that the coil screws in the same amount and sets up the same way but requires a taller glass section to connect the two halves.

meh, I could see adding a channel inside the already existing top cap, but I personally wouldn't want a taller Kabuki. To me, part of its appeal is its size.

Tiz all true, Moxie, yet I'm utilizing incorrectly sized tanks on both of mine. They are a bit too tall, and I certainly wouldn't recommend them (for all the reasons you stated). However, with a little bit of caution and a whole lotta luck, mine are not leaking. And, YES, the gains are negligible. Mine were unintentional oversized purchases (I thought they'd be spot on Zen on), so they do fall into the "oops!" category.

The secret to success? Zen O rings. That's what did the job to make mine work.

I'd like to see a smaller capacity Kabuki, with a smaller ID base, which would allow for thicker wall glass...
Polycarbonate or Acrylic 19 id 22 od would also work for stopping breakage. I'm trying to find a supplier myself - haha.

I will be checking/comparing all of the dimensions on Vaporwerx coils. My only regret is that I only ordered a 5 pack of coils..... It would be hard to judge them on a 5pcs sample but its enough for me to tell if its worth buying more.

Unless the glass O.D. was smaller.

If the OD were smaller, then it wouldn't be a 22mm tank and would have a tapered look. The only way to get the wall thicker and have a flush look with a ProVari would be to would be to have a smaller ID base. All tubes have 3 dimensions. The wall, ID and OD. Increase the wall, and the OD has to increase, or the ID decrease. Make the wall thinner, and the OD stays the same and the ID gets larger. To have the same OD the Kabuki has now, but with a thicker wall glass, the ID of the base where teh glass sits on has to be smaller...

Awhile back in this thread.....I took a Kabuki base and Zcarto top+glass section with upgrade chimney and it worked......BUT......... You gained a few ml of juice and the flavor went down hill. Adjusting the airflow didnt matter it still wasnt getting the same flavor as the Kabuki... I would rather keep the flavor factor over a little more tank capacity.

That no doubt increased the tank length, and also increased the chimney length.

But, If we just increased the tank girth without affecting the height?!?

What thinkest thou???

I meant that along the lines that the glass od could be smaller, resulting in a thinner walled tank. I haven't tried any tanks other than the original (which I promptly broke, because I'm good like that) and spectrum. However, this is not the first time I've heard that IBT has "thinner" glass.

I still want to try it, thanks. I still like the stock Nauti, so it may be an upgrade for me.

Any tips on 'loosening' the threads of the top cap? I need to use some sort of lever every time I need to fill my Kabuki...tried chasing the threads like suggested earlier in this thread and I've tried several different coils, but no joy...

Jam the hex tool in the air flow hole and use it as a lever...

Yes, I imagine it would. I suppose I would just like to hear ONE positive report on these, but in all truth, I've pretty much given up on them.
