MsLoud, one day, we may meet, possibly when Kentucky beats Alabama in a football game, in Tuscaloosa, and your opinion will change in a moment for that title [sexiest man alive] resides in Kentucky and it is held by my humble self.

Welp, hellsbells. Maybe I'll have to visit Tuscalusosa myself someday.

Maybe u guys are already doing this to lube the o rings but what I've been doing is running the dropper around the top edge of the glass while filling the tank and the o rings lube themselves as you twist the bottom section back on. Then when I put it all on the radius / device I tighten the whole thing down then give the glas a slight turn loose from the bottom. Makes it easy peasy to open when refilling. No lever neccesary. I have the kabuki with the 510 conection. I do have one question though and that is why does it take a half to a full tank of nasty vaping before getting any decent flavor has anybody found a better way to prime the coil?

Andy, exactly how are you priming the coil?

Putting a few drops in the center tube and a couple drops in the side wholes of the coil than filling the tank closing it up let sit for about 15 mins. Open the air flow 1 and 3/4 turns from fully closed and vape at 8 to 8.5 watts.

I only do one thing differently...

I start at 2.9 volts, and then slowly work my way up in .1 volt increments to my goal voltage.

A very slow process for sure, but I feel as though my coils last longer with this break in method.

I do things similar to you. However, I also take a few "pulls" on a full tank with my thumb over the air inlet. It then seems like after a puff or two the taste is fine.

My method is pretty much the same as well. And Andy, this happens with all your Naughty coils?
Yup, takes about a tank or 2 MLS vape before getting any flavor never had one start stong, no burned taste and I'm getting vapor but no flavor then at about 2 mls flavor starts to come on and all is good. I'm at the point on my current tank where flavor is just coming in vaguely. I will give thethe thumb over the air hole trick a try and going lower watts and work up.

Congrats on finding it...

Kabuki for the win!

Jim

PS Make sure that you have no leaks past the orings that would kill flavor, and tank vacuum.

PSS If it is a P3 Kabuki, you really need to have it tightened down on the P3 device to seal your air intake as well.

I'm just tossing things into the mix, Andy. Cuz I really don't know why the coils would not be giving you flavor. Have you used the Naughty coils before this? I know they were a HUGE change for me from karto tanks. But now, I wouldn't opt for the milkshake draw of the karto if given the chance to vape on a Kabuki. NO comparison.

I do believe (and it's just my own mental construct) that all coils take a bit of break in time.

Yes I would almost rather vape a burning t shirt than go back to carto tank, never used pre made coils before and I figured some break in more than likely but a full tank seems like a lot. No leaking anywhere air or juice, 510 conection kabuki on a radius.

I was having troubles Thursday night and posted a bunch of questions. Good answers and help from everyone. It took a full tank to break in and then flavor was good til I used some juice that was probably to sweet and messed up that coil this afternoon. Almost three days and the flavor/vapor was as good as I've ever experienced. Put in a new coil and same thing almost a full tank before getting any flavor and I figured I'd ask what u guys are doing. I appreciate the help! Thanks!

There is only one other thing that I can think of...

Perhaps try boiling them first, followed by a good rinse and air dry.

You may be chasing some of the manufacturing artifacts?!?

Exactly that with my tanks.

As to why you have to run a tank through before you get the good flavor?

Cotton doesn't really wick all that well imo.

You have to get it good and saturated.

This is an area that still needs work in the realm of vaping.

That, and what Turfy said.

I haven't had any problems with o-rings swelling but I don't know what material they are in the various tanks at hand. The material used will determine whether they change size. Back in my days of handling chemicals there was Viton, Buna-N, rubber, and a bunch more compounds depending on what you were trying to seal. I suspect that the manufacturers use the cheaper available and let us worry about whether it's the right stuff or not.

My stab at providing sleep inducing massively overcomplicated information is brought to you on a lazy Sunday where everyone needs to take a nap.

Which raises the question, what is the mat'l?

I thought Buna-N was the stuff mostly?
