1. I have ordered one, I'm guessing the engraved tube is the part that is made to order, they probably need to have the GMZ Kabukis in stock. If you aren't attached to the engraved metal tube, I'd just order a GMZ Kabuki from Provape.

I wanted to order a GMZ from Provape today (just managed to set up a US address yesterday),but they seem to be OUT of Stock now..didnt see it anywhere?
I wrote to them to ask if they planned on getting some more in ?

But yes, Id prefer the Kabuki d'élégance but.... would settle for a GMZ meanwhile/too ;)

Did ya ever have one of those days?

Went to bed at 4:30AM... at 7:55 a contractor rings my bell to do some work that they were supposed to call first before showing up... it's OK, I want the work done... Let's get rolling...

8:56AM... the phone rings... it's Al, my head machinist ... there's a bit of an issue at the shop. He says I better come down there right away...

Nothing could prepare me for what I was about to see.

When I arrived, much of the ceiling of the ZFO (our showroom) was on the floor... soaked in water.

It was quite literally raining inside the building... water was pouring down everywhere I looked except for the assembly area...

The office... drenched

My beautiful showroom... destroyed

The plating room... flooded

The machine shop... not so bad... but there's a flooded power panel that's making threatening smells.

The stock room... Oh My God... this can't be happening! Flooded.

Some time in the middle of the night, the Urgent Care facility that is located above the ZFO had a pipe burst... they had minimal damage... Thousands of gallons of water found it's way below, right through my business.

I didn't want MY staff to deal with this mess... the landlord was called, and I called in a team of professionals to start with the cleanup. It's going to take days to even assay the damage.
So far, both electrical panels will need complete restoration... new ceiling is a must, still sorting out the floor, and we have the daunting task of sorting through the products that have been hit by the water.

This will be a monumental task, but we need another day of running emergency dehumidifiers and fans (about 50 of them) before I can call the staff back to work. They are enjoying a couple days off with pay, this shouldn't ruin their incomes, I have to provide for them.

So... needless to say... our response times will be somewhat protracted, phone calls will resume when the phone is found... Hopefully working. The Square shop is still running, if anybody needs anything the next date we will ship is on Thursday January 7 or possibly the 8th, so that's not so bad.

It's gonna be a fun week or two!

this would be the only time where I think paying my insurance is worth the money, hopefully they will take care of all the money lost during this incident.

We'll be doing another short run of the GMZ Kabuki in the next couple weeks.

The D'elegance will be back in stock next week.

Because your Mod's, (Provari) are 316 SS and 316 SS doesn't chip.;) That, and the 316 is thru and thru, not just a few thou. thick.
The paint will wear, particularly on sharp corners, and chip easily on sharp corners. The stainless will continue to look pretty much the same. And if it does wear, a quick bead blast will have it looking like new!

Knife.
I think Zen and I have a difference of opinion of what DLC stands for. (Diamond Like Coating). can be tungsten based. Cobalt based, and a few others. I could list a dozen combos used in the machine tool industry, but it would be meaning less to most here. If it is in anyway superior to DLC, the High Speed, High Precision exotic. metal working industry would love to hear of it. Including AeroSpace! ;) And yes, it is Nano. All such coatings are!

DLC is simply a description of the resulting finish. , Not the name of the process. Zen himself said it is "Next to Diamond" in hardness. Which in my mind, describes DLC. Diamond Like Coating. I'm a little lost too what Zen is saying here. Bet NASA would be interested....Along Willy WaChang, Raytheon, Thiokol. My Neighbors here, SpaceX, and a host of others. I woudn't be wasting my time with Mods and Addy's If I had such superior technology!

Sounds like ZenKote is a trademark or patent. If I am wrong, the metallurgist in me wants to know what in Heck it is! Is Zen now making Synthetic Diamonds? LOL!!!:)
Whatever it is, it's good Stuff!!!;)
Update, I just looked up Zenkote, there is indeed a trademark, and patent on it. But it has nothing to do with the Zenkote we are talking about here. It is a coating to prevent oxidation, (tarnishing) of metal under paint.
Now this is confusing!
Knife

Actually... DLC started out as a VERY specific coating process that is being "genericized" by the public more than anybody else.

So let's get a bit more specific about ZenKote™... I hold the trademark on one such usage of the word... The version you found is a dead trademark... And the formula, as I stated IS proprietary, and protected by trade secrets. The base formulation is a technology that I have licensed from my days working for the Office of Naval Research, NASA knows about it, it's used in MANY military projects, and that's about what I will say about it... that being said, I hold the international license to use it, in these exact formulations as a decorative coating.

ProVaris are indeed a 300 series Stainless, but they are not 316... They are another alloy, but seeing as ProVape has not publicly released the alloy number, I won't either. Everything I make using stainless is 316L, Up until 2013 I used 316LVM.

NOT all PVD coatings are Nano-tech... most are not.

Please don't take this as being argumentative, I respect the hell out of your work!

Sounds like it was one of those days for you. Not good or fun. Good you got the ball rolling on getting stuff cleaned up. You'll be up and running in no time.

That would make for a very tough day! Thoughts for you as you deal with it. Water damage is awful!

Fortunately for me, I do not... I have REAL business hazard insurance... lol
Well that's great! Maybe you can PM me or I'll call you in a couple of weeks to find out who you have and if they are available in the Thumb of Michigan. Sometime this spring I need to choose a good homeowners insurance, one I can actually count on and that's NOT Liberty Mutual or State Farm! I'm thinking AAA. While pricey, when it comes to auto insurance, it's always been no questions asked. Jackie had them for homeowners back in the day and it was the same deal, took care of her.

So great to hear from you Zen.

Looks like you and your crew are weathering the man made storm pretty well, so far. Even with the pro's handling the biggest of the mess, I'm sure you will have quite a time sorting it all out in the next days and weeks---as you also plan and get new decor!

Please tell us that your ProVi collection and other fine collections you had at the store are dry and safe! The thought of having an entire collection drying in rice is not a fun thought at all.

Really appreciate all your communications about ZenKote tm, steel #'s, etc. too.

No P3, but 9-11w here, consistently, depending on juice, mood, time of day (and sometimes even wind speed & direction).

I'm right there as well, 9-11W.

Pssssssst. I'm a member of dat klub as well. As I always say, my speed is men's sock size. That's the way (uh huh, uh huh).

The ProVari Collection has been living in my Home Office for the last year or so... the "mod museum" collection at the shop was not damaged at all.

Don't ever take the wire and cotton out of your coils or you'll see the crud you've been vaping after 4 weeks lol
I'm fine. I put new cotton in my kayfuns, every two weeks. And it was always pretty clean. That was pre kabuki, when I was using them 100% of the time. :)

I'm very sorry to hear of this.

I'm sure you recall when Eastern NY flooded out a couple years ago. I lost my shop and home in that mess.

Water ruins everything. Everything I "saved" ended up dying on the next to years anyway. It would have been very hard to do but long term throwing everything that got wet in the dumpster and starting over would have saved me a huge amount of frustration over the past 2 years.

Good luck.
