CL:

Since the Kabuki isn't known to leak, (One of the few that doesn't), why put them in a position to be knocked over? Why not simply lay the device on its side rather than standing, just waiting to fallover and break? My Kabuki has NEVER leaked and if on a Provari 2.5, is always laid on its side, The radius is left standing, but I no longer have a Cat. But I still have to watch out for my Wife. LOL---

For the poster that said his leaks, try not to inadvertently blow back thru it when taking a draw. this is about the only way to make one leak, unless you are using extremely thin juice. ;)

Hmmm, thanks for the suggestion but I think it would be even worse laying flat, it would roll off the table onto the floor. My cat likes rolling things even better than knocking stuff over! Yes, she's very naughty and spoiled.... she has lots of toys but she likes my toys better ;)

By the way I live in an 18th century building, EVERYTHING is uneven and slanted, the floors the walls etc etc. things "roll "off really easily

Really the glass breakage situation is a lot better now, i have some SS tanks just in case (hate them but better than being left stranded), ive ordered in some Poly tanks, also have some pyrex ones on order from spectrum,Im sure ill be just fine with all those new options!

As for leaking, have never had that problem with my kabukis.

Hopefully the Nautilus coils will be produced for a good long while, I can't see Aspire just dropping them as long as there are so many tanks out there and customers needing them, they probably make more money in the long run off of the coil sales than they do from the atomizers. I do, however still plan on stocking up on them, and if I can get enough for two or three years use put away, the daily cost of using the Kabuki tanks goes down to pennies per day. Heck, at one years time in use, a 90$ Kabuki costs .25 cent per day.

Yes, and despite all the new tanks and sub-ohming equipment the Nautilus remains a "CLASSIC" IMO!

A year ago you couldn't go anywhere around here and not see Nautilus(s) sold. And used. I used a Nautilus as did almost everyone I know. It was called a "game changer" and I'm one of the people who believe thats true.

Yet here we are. I rarely use my Nautilus and no one I know uses one either. I haven't seen one for sale in some time. I would gather some places may still sell the coils but most don't.

Threads upstairs are full of stories of favored vape gear they can't get parts for anymore.

Due to changing tastes and more importantly POSSIBLE law changes I think everyone should have a rebuild-able of some sort. Tanks in the tootle class are crazy easy to build on. Kayfun 4 clones can be had for 4 bucks these days. A lifetime of wire and cotton would be 10-15 bucks. Things like nail clipper and blue screwdrivers can handle the rest. My current favorite build is dual 28ga coils at .5Ω at 15w which would run nicely on a P3 or Radius. A new 2 penny coil every six months and fresh wicks every 3 days to a week. I can rewick a Kayfun faster then you can screw a new coil in and more importantly you all can to.

And doing one doesn't mean you can't do the other. 3 throwaway coils and 3 builder or whatever. You all should check out Roxy's tootle tank thread. 3 months ago most of the member were scared of every part of building and now them ladies are prolly some of the finest builders on ECF.

Hmm..... Im real happy to see that Im not alone there ;)

My cat knocks over a lot of my P3+kabukis so thats the number one cause of breakage at my house BUT not the only one,Ive also broken several myself (a brand new one last night, just unscrewing it to fill...and I have small hands, no strength..In my whole life of vaping previous to the kabuki I have only ever broken ONE tank... but I must have bought over 15 replacement kabuki tanks since November...)

Anyway those problems are (maybe)over now anyway, FT is selling five packs of tanks for 6 $, Spectrum is making pyrex tanks (not cheap, but hopefully will last longer ...)

Anyway at least now there are other options, even though ,up until now, I have accepted to pay the high price for the replacement glass tanks because the vape quality is so great on the Kabuki + glass tank ;)
Ahh, the Joy of being owned by a Cat!:);)

Welp, coolerat, you know me, and you know DPLongo22. We're both still avid Naughty users. Yes, of course we love the Kabuki as well, and another not so popular, but friggin awesome tank. The coils still appear to be readily available, other than on FT. They ARE available there, but one needs to jump thru a hoop or two to get them,,, but they can be had.

I don't disagree that everyone should own a RB tank in this current climate of change. I/we do, and hope upon HOPE not to have to use them. I'm not so sure that building a coil for a KF set to a resistance that will match up with our Provi 2.5s is going to be all that "crazy easy". Not so much, I'm afraid. I've seen "pro" builders do it, and struggle huge time. When the time comes, I will be eagerly asking for recommendations for specific premade coils that will match the vape style and power levels we now employ.

Are there no men in Roxy's thread? :)

The problem with "pro" builders is they seem to be stuck on the " thicker is better" mentality or "mech mindset". I easily build my kf's and other RTA/RBA's to run very well with every device I have(yes even on ego batts). It's not hard at all.

I use a Squape mostly on my 2.5. You literally cannot build that thing wrong and it does not leak.

When you do it you will be like " holy crap it was this easy all along?"

Men in that thread?? Dunno. Most of the heavy posters have names that are clearly women. The others could be either.

I know If Roxys building skills fit in a 55 gal drum mine would fit on the head of a pin.

The newer style tanks that are a better match for the Radius are much easier to build on but above what you want. With the newer stuff you can literally have them out of the box, coiled, wicked and vaping in 5 minutes and never get dry hits or have leaks. At the tootle level it's harder I'll admitt very possible.

I am finding it increasingly difficult to find Nautilus BVC 1.8 ohm coils at a decent price. Given I have five Kabuki's and Jackie has one, I'm about to go off and spend a mint on coils. Any help in this area will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Gotta lub ya. Purrrrrrfect, gneez!

This...in etched glass...

Ok, not a bad idea! Not bad at tall!

Actually he wasn't set on thicker is better, or the mech mindset. He complained tho, that it was such a tiny area to make a coil in the high resistance I was wanting (I think I asked if he could make it between 1.5 and 1.8 ohms). It's 1.4 now.

But that's neither here nor anywhere now. IF/when the time comes, might I call on you for some input please?

And this is NOT a building thread, so I'll agree with tearose and not discuss it. :)

MFS (myfreedomsmokes) has had sales for 40% off quite a few times over the months. You can order 2 packs of each kind (1.6 and 1.8) and the code will apply to all 4. There is a 2 pack per resistance maximum.

keep your eye here for their coupons - register for emails too!

Coupons

Oh - if you dont mind the slow boat then FT has them - make sure they are authentic.
also - here ~> Aspire Coils <~ has the best every day price - I think :)

If you use the bottom pin from a Nautilus coil you can use Triton Mini coils. You lose the advantages but will still be able to use your tanks.

@tearose50 , I'm really sorry you changed your post. I wished to thank you for saying that which was rolling around in my head.

Well, if I'm to be specific, the thought was, "Well, here goes another thread I'll end up crossing off my list."

And I hope that doesn't turn out to be the case, but I certainly understand if it does. I get it, but I'm simply not interested in it. Sorry, all.

Maybe I am being naïve however I don’t think Zen would leave his Kabuki customers hanging. I am sure he realizes that we went with the Kabuki because we either do not build or prefer not to build. I do have to agree with KD that there are vendors selling the Nautilus coils especially the online vendors. Some even sell the Aspire BDC/BVC non-Nautilus coils for those that remember these. I use to these prior to the Nautilus on an Aspire Vivi Nova with no air flow controller. They provided good flavor, did not leak and fortunately for me the eliquid did not taste like wet socks :).

In the last six+ months that I have been using the Kabuki I never felt the need to try anything else being totally satisfied although my curiosity got the better of me and I had the urge to try the Eleaf GS air coils in a GS-Tank TC. I did not even get through one tank and immediately went back to the Kabuki — very muted taste for me. Will I try another new drop in coil that comes out? You bet I will. This past week I tried the new Triton Mini Coils — the 1.2Ω in my Nautilus Mini and the Clapton 1.8Ω in the Kabuki . I also had a Kabuki with a 1.8Ω Nautilus going at the same time all filled with the same eliquid to do a comparison. The Clapton barely had any taste for me. The 1.2Ω was better but still not better than the Kabuki/Nautilus plus it lost its flavor quickly. It is possible that the 1.2Ω will be better in the Kabuki with better air flow than the Nautilius coil. Also maybe in a Triton tank they work better — I don’t know. Others may find the Triton Mini coils with the Kabuki that the flavor is just as good as the Kabuki/Nautilus. For me this was not the case. While I try to remain optimistic, I continue to stockpile Nautilus coils and just placed an order.

One last thing from Aspire’s own forum: "It has been repeatedly stated that there will not be an RBA kit for the Nautilus series as the coils are too small. The only Aspire product with an RTA is the now discontinued original Triton.”

Sometimes I feel embarrassed cheerleading for these people but they have great prices and customer service. I guess I don't need to worry since the word doesn't seem to have gotten out. You can get genuine coils for as low as $9.49 a box.

They don't have a huge amount of different items, but they are reliable and ship quickly. And you don't have to deal with shipping from China since they're located in Georgia.

I'm still working on stocking for the vapocalypse so please don't clean them out before I'm finished. :D

@DPLongo22 Thanks.

I just decided that I should be thankful that there are vapors who are sincerely offering advice.

I tend to be more of the opinion of NotSoMini than some other recent posters.

IMHO there is no indication that Nauti coils will suddenly disappear off the shelves of several retailers --- they are selling far to well for that. Of course, I'm stocking up, especially when there is a sale. I always do when it's a system I really enjoy.
