Honestly, it is cheaper than I was expecting. Order placed and I am hoping I fight the urge for any additional purchases in the near future. I have to convince myself that I do not need two of these and that I don't need to order another before they are no longer available.

Same thoughts going on in my head :) vape shopping regrets when they go "out of stock' can be painful.

Am I to understand that the Stealth Kabuki is flaking apart on people?
As in, the black coating is essentially falling off?

How many have had this happen?

I have two. No issues. But I haven't tried boiling them or used an ultrasonic cleaner or soap either. I just run them under warm tap water, shake hard and let them dry over night.

I can't remember where I read this but why are people boiling their Kabuki? Since I've been vaping I've not boiled anything but folks are boiling everything from cotton to tanks. I don't get it.

HB, If I recall correctly, someone did have an issue and just wound up boiling the finish off. I just don't remember who posted they did that.

You can't wash them in hot water.

Astro damaged the finish boiling his, I think, then just removed it completely.
Is the stealth the same price as the others? More? I'd be mad as hell if I paid more for a stealth (if in fact it does cost more) only for it to end up looking like the others.

More. Ten or Twenty Bucks more. The same thing would happen to the Stealth mods if you boiled them, but they don't because of the electronics. People seem to think the Stealth stuff is super durable or something. It's not. It's stealth. d'Uh.

Given the nature of the ceramic finish, and the fact that it gets baked on for several hours, at over 300*F, I can't imagine a quick hot wash in the kitchen/bathroom/workshop sink would hurt.
Boiling and ultrasonic cleaners, however, may have a different effect.
Cerakote is used primarily (and may have been designed expressly for) firearms.

Sorry JWB...not pickin' on you. [emoji6]
Just speaking to the topic.

Yeah the Stealth coating is not any more durable than the Black Provaris. It's the same stuff.
The Stealth just gets all the bells and whistles coated, instead of just the body tube.
LOLOLOL!!! Not d'uh! I'm in the crowd who thought stealth was more durable. Having never owned anything stealth I wouldn't know one way or the other.

The ORIGINAL Stealth Provaris from VaporForce were triple coated, which is why they were so much more expensive.
They were the only company authorized by Provape to modify stock devices, and resell them as factory certified.
So, I guess in a sense, the Stealth line was born with the idea that it would be more durable...because it was triple coated.

Mine hasn't chipped of flaked, but it does have a tiny bit of steel showing at an edge where it seems to have simply worn off.

Here's some of what Zen has said:

From post #1963: "When the problem popped up I contacted my CeraKote vendor, told him what happened... he said ... "no boiling, no ultrasonic"..."

HB I think you just hit the nail on the head. When I think of stealth this is exactly what I'm thinking about- Vaporforce!! And as far as I can remember, I don't recall anyone with the VF Stealth having issues with flaking or color simple just fading off.

Thanks for giving me that eureka moment.

Not flaking but just wearing off. Any sharp edge is showing more and more silver metal every day. You don't vape looks but I'm still not happy that this is happening.

The GMZ I have is still perfect.

In my case they're worlds apart in durability. The black P3 I have doesn't show any wear whatsoever and it was the first Provari product I bought. I got the stealth Kabuki months later and it's looking raggedy with finish loss on any sharp surface, like the edge at the top of the tank. Nope, no boiling here. Just hot water occasionally when cleaning and it wasn't so hot I couldn't keep my bare hands in it.

It hasn't seen any abuse and is the only vape item I own that has aged this badly. I'm pretty careful with stuff; my first SX Mini (it was even early production) never showed any paint wear until I loaned it to a friend for a while.

In reading through before posting, it occurred to me that you might be saying that Stealth Provaris and Stealth Kabukis are the same process. My P3 isn't a stealth model so I suppose the finish might be something other than what is used on the stealth Kabuki.
