Oh I forgot to mention, I just did a half-baked experiment...

I put the deck of my kayfun in the ultrasonic cleaner, with a gunked up coil. Did 4 x 4 minute cycles and the coil was hardly any different from going in.

So I guess from my angle, and with the equipment I have - my theory is pretty bust - however, I didn't use Vodka, I used warm water and dishwashing liquid just to have a look. Vodka may clean the cotton a little but I doubt it will do anything to the coil. If it did dislodge some gunk from the coil, I am sure it would simply end up in what was left of the cotton.

I totally agree, I have great RTAs and rda that I get awesome flavour from anyway. I get a great vape from the Kabuki/BVC on some juices but some juices are far better on RBAs in my experience :)
and exactly WHY I'm using the rebuildable deck in the Kabuki!;)

Just an FYI: The liberal was knocked out of the race in the primaries.

Well, at least progressive and Liberal are spelled differently. They are the different sides of the coin. Progressive is the term coined to cover, of soften the Modern Communist Party in the US. Hillary claimed the Liberal Moniker for years, before the stronger version "Progressive label became popular to simi hide their agenda.

Too many people were able to translate the title NAZI and the USSR for their comfort in pulling the "Great Fundamental Change to America" movement off. Oddly, many know what the USSR Stood for, but for whatever reason, few know what the letters NAZI stood for. Hint. National Socialist Party. The media have for years put the NAZI party out there as a Right Wing Party. When in truth, they were as far Left as you can get. Same as the USSR!

This is not me saying it to be rude. If you study their history, you will find that they proclaim this very thing. It goes back to Sol Olinski. Probably spelling the name incorrectly.

For those that wish, there are several good tutorials on rebuilding the Nauti coil on YouTube. It's really not that hard!

Off topic much? As soon as we start pushing our political beliefs and apparently in some cases, dreams, the sooner this thread is closed down.

Has anyone tried cleaning used Nauti BVC coils in a Ultrasonic cleaner?? I wonder if you could place a jar with some vodka in the bath and place the coils in this smaller receptacle ??
I had to snap cause I'd just did this before sitting down at the laptop. Yes to your question & there's Ever Clear in the water.

You are correct. However, in this case, it is Politics that is behind the attack on our right to vape, and save our own lives. To not talk about it is taking Political Correctness to a very foolish Extreme! I want to live, do you?

It needs to be talked about here, and in the halls of Congress. Period! To ignore what is going on, is nothing more than sticking our heads in the sand, simply because it is PC to do so.

Every one wants to cry about the oncoming dreaming, but NO ONE wants to look at exactly WHY it is coming! How PC! How Passive! How Cowardly!!! Are we Men and Women, or Slaves? If you think our fight with Big Tobacco and Big Pharmacy is not Political, your head is most definitely deeply buried. It is Politic being used for Profit, pure and simple!

We Texans are not very prone to PC at all. Texas, a Great Place to Live, and a Whole Other Country. :);)

Too all those who are willing to lay down their health-lives of themselves and all others, to please their PC leaders, I say this, "Remember The Alamo! We Will NOT Lie Down for these fools. Political or not, I do not know. Make of it what you will. If you have any courage left!

Haha - :D ...so what was the verdict ? Looks like the same ultrasonic as mine LOL
No verdict yet- haven't been back upstairs. And it probably is the same ultra. Got mine from HarborFreight back when ultrasonics were all the rage around here; now folks barely mention them. LOL

I get more gunk off coils by putting them in a jar with some Ever Clear & shaking it vigorously by hand. In the ultrasonic it needs a lot of cycles. That pic I posted was the 2nd cycle.

So, my replacement tanks arrived from ProVape today! I ordered them during last weeks flash sale. Still don't have the ones I ordered from IBTanked on July 9th.
On another note I had one coil I thought was maybe on it's way out. I flushed it with hot water, then soaked it in water for a day or two, then air dried for a couple of days. I put it back in service yesterday and it's working and tasting fine. Maybe it wasn't as far gone as I thought it was though.

Yeah, I hear ya. I have to do so many cycles to move any crud. I do like it for cleaning my RBAs though :)

I mentioned this fear last fall (the Kabuki is awesome... except, it's entirely dependent upon coils from China continuing to be available)

[/QUOTE

well the mini Nauti is a very popular, basic, easy to use tank AND, very importantly, it's WITHIN EURO TPD regs of tanks maxing at 2ML so it may have a few more good days ahead of it, at least in Europe, Im hoping that will be enough to keep them producing the coils for a little while longer, maybe 2-3 yrs ??? That said Ive been stocking up on them from FT for the past two years ;).....

I'm another who has tried each and every single suggested method of cleaning coils. Hellsbells, I even cleaned kartos and dried them in the oven, and stuck them like little playing cards in bicycle spokes, in a desk fan. (BAD MOVE, both.)

From this POV, with or against the esteemed Dr. F., the only way I see to removed caramelized flavoring on coils is a swift and entertaining little dry burn.

Vodka doesn't really work. It MIGHT get you one more tank, but doesn't really clean the coil well IME.

Of course, I didn't use Grey Goose or Ketel One though. :)

Fair enough, I'll save the vodka :D

SAVE the VODKA, especially the GOOSE!!

(If you REALLY feel the need to soak a coil, Trader Joe's Vodka of the Gods, for it's 10ish dollar price tag, goes down a treat.)

Hi All :)

A few of my Kabukis have gotten REALLY tight (ie. tight draw) lately EVEN when I change the coil fro a brand new one and open up the airflow at MAX.Well, obviously there IS an improvement when I change the coil but NOT as much as it should be and NOT the same as on a NEW kabuki. I just rinse out my kabuki's in warm/hot water under the tap and so Im thinking maybe there's alot of gunk stuck in the airflow parts. i try to stick a tooth pick thru the holes every so often or some rolled up paper towels but doesnt help much... Should I be cleaning more/better ?
Or is it something else ?

i DO have an ultrasonic cleaner but havent used them on the kabukis so far.Could that be the answer

Any advice ?

I cant just keep buying new kabukis every few months (especially since I have/need 3/4 on rotation everyday for my dif flavors & mods...) .I change my coils pretty frequently already, usually every 3/4 days

There is no conceivable way the kabuki itself will change over time with normal use. Temperature is nowhere near hot enough to change the metal. So here are some thoughts as to why you might be experiencing this.

I am thinking it must be gumming up from your juices. I seldom clean my stealth bukis because the coating is so fragile and I don't have the problem.

Having said that I do notice a difference when I go from one of my RBAs to the kabuki.

I seldom use thick juices in this tank as the coils to gunk up pretty quickly.

I would definitely try the ultrasonic cleaner - this will bring it back to - as new :)

I really appreciate fine metalworking, I love looking at well made and high end knives, and other things. Not everyone "gets" it but there is an art to well crafted things, whatever they may be. It's really cool how Zen approaches this type of project from a different angle, manipulating technology and machining to create the beautiful engraving, it's a marriage of a whole bunch of different skill sets all focused on realizing his imagination onto the piece. I would love to see what he could do with graving tools by hand. Maybe someday...
There's also Otto Carter who works with mods (and motorcycles, guns, knives, etc) Electronic Cigarettes
