Hello,

Juma55 - I'm sorry that Kim let you down on the call/email, I've recently left you a voicemail so we can chat and clear up any pending issues. Feel free to give me a call back.

As for the Kabuki and the P3 thread, I can tell you we have not changed the P3 thread since it was released last year. There can be slight tolerances, part to part, including tolerances on the Kabuki and the Aspire coils that all stack up to create the perfect storm sometimes. The Kabuki is using a Nautilus coil and we have experienced some variances with the coils causing some issues. I do not make this comment to shift blame to Aspire, but that was what we originally saw when we were testing the tanks. Mike at HOH had made some changes early on in production to drop the coil further into the Kabuki bottom cap to clear this up, but there are still variances in those coils that can cause issues. If the coil is pushing down and bottoming out the travel on the P3 center pin, then it can cause the gap. Its not that the threads on the P3 are not cut right, but its hitting the end of the travel and preventing the tank from going down any further. In this situation, it would normally fire ok, but you have a paper thin gap because everything is maxed out on travel. If the coil is too high, then it won't mate with the pin and you get a OP.

Kim was suggesting that we take a look at the parts so we can determine the issue. Maybe its a metal bur, issue with the P3 thread, something with the coil or a problem with the Kabuki tank. We strive to hold very tight tolerances on the parts we make, but there is always going to be some wiggle room between all the various components and its further complicated when there are three different components, made from different places, each with their own tolerances. We want to resolve the issues and come up with a solution. Please feel free to contact us and we can work through them.

THIS. THIS is exactly why Provape has the reputation for such amazing customer service!
It's why companies like Provape and HoH have such loyal followers!
Coming to a public forum, to mingle with end-users, to extend solutions...on their own personal time.
You won't catch the "big guys" doing that!
Thanks @Vape360 for being such an awesome part of our industry! You and Zen need to go on vacation or something!

Always available to help family!

I had a call with juma55, nice guy, and he is going to chat with Mike first to see if there is a solution on that end, then we will work towards a solution. Speaking of vacation, Mike is already taking that advice.

Should we all meet at HOH and have a big party while he is out?

:)

I think Provape and HOH ARE the big guys. :)

Well done, @Vape360. I know we all appreciate your reply, personal problem or not.

Thank you.
They may be the big guys in our eyes...but compared to all the corporate giants out there (mainly the Chinese mass-producers) they're just good ol' American neighbors!!!

I spoke with Vape360 late yesterday afternoon. I now understand the situation better and ProVape's position, which I agree with. I apologize for anything negative I said or implied about ProVape or Kim.

I am going to wait and talk to Zen next week. Probably the best solution is for Zen to cut new bases for my Kabukis, but I'l let him make that decision. Meanwhile, I'll just vape on and enjoy the experience. Thanks to everyone for the help and understanding.

PS While Vape360 and I didn't discuss it, I do think ProVape's points system is goofy. I would order today three more P3's and another Stealth Kabuki, if it was in-stock, but I have to wait until 10-08 for all of my points to mature. I'm sorry. I just think that's silly. You gotta guy here wanting to spend a good hunka change on your gear. Give him the points now before he changes his mind!

My boss and I have a recurring conversation, due to his propensity to give a little, but then take something back.

Don't ever let a good idea become a negative in your clients' eyes. If you're going to do something, do it properly.

There is no threat that I see there. It is a form letter, included with every request for an RGA, I know, I've sent a few in for minor stuff. The part about cleaning, I will tell you that I have seen some pretty grungy ProVari's come to me from used sale ads. I cleaned them up before even daring to send them in to have the boards re-glued, some people don't take very good care of their stuff, and I can only imagine what they have had sent in to them...

The cost of shipping the units in to them with insurance, to me, just goes with the territory. I've never had to pay return shipping, and frankly, Provape has been exceptional in their service to me every time, I have never been charged for a repair, even on a few out of warrantee mods.

The part about having to print a RGA form for each mod also makes sense, to better track each unit while being inspected and serviced there will be a paper trail to follow each mod.

I think perhaps you are over personalizing the instructions. Also, Provape can't really tell what the issue is without actually seeing your devices. I hope you can work through this and get your issues resolved. Sugar attracts more bees than vinegar.

Enaud, you are 100% correct. I was wrong. Please see other messages.

I don't know if this is a reflection of anything other than: He really likes vaping. I know it's not due to wealth. But as of this morning's order, I've now spent $3,087.64 with ProVape.
Congrats, and now try to calculate your health!!!

Thank you for taking the time to come in here and respond, I know you must be busy.

One thing I don't understand is how the length of coil affects paper gap. I get the paper gap without a coil.

I want to add that's on three replacement bases...

Astro, you are 100% correct. My GP says I have the blood of teenager--and I'm a long way from there. Cardiologist says my heart is great. Dentist finds no ill effects. And if the only money I'd spent was with ProVape, then it would be about the deductible on my health insurance. The only problem is I spent that amount or more on other gear. :(

What we are seeing is the bottom of the aspire coil is bottoming out on the P3 center pin and not allowing the tank to go all the way down. The aspire coil has no travel so it's preventing the tank for screwing in all the way, leaving a small gap.
