Juma55 - I'm sorry that Kim let you down on the call/email, I've recently left you a voicemail so we can chat and clear up any pending issues. Feel free to give me a call back.
As for the Kabuki and the P3 thread, I can tell you we have not changed the P3 thread since it was released last year. There can be slight tolerances, part to part, including tolerances on the Kabuki and the Aspire coils that all stack up to create the perfect storm sometimes. The Kabuki is using a Nautilus coil and we have experienced some variances with the coils causing some issues. I do not make this comment to shift blame to Aspire, but that was what we originally saw when we were testing the tanks. Mike at HOH had made some changes early on in production to drop the coil further into the Kabuki bottom cap to clear this up, but there are still variances in those coils that can cause issues. If the coil is pushing down and bottoming out the travel on the P3 center pin, then it can cause the gap. Its not that the threads on the P3 are not cut right, but its hitting the end of the travel and preventing the tank from going down any further. In this situation, it would normally fire ok, but you have a paper thin gap because everything is maxed out on travel. If the coil is too high, then it won't mate with the pin and you get a OP.
Kim was suggesting that we take a look at the parts so we can determine the issue. Maybe its a metal bur, issue with the P3 thread, something with the coil or a problem with the Kabuki tank. We strive to hold very tight tolerances on the parts we make, but there is always going to be some wiggle room between all the various components and its further complicated when there are three different components, made from different places, each with their own tolerances. We want to resolve the issues and come up with a solution. Please feel free to contact us and we can work through them.
