There are Two reasons to buy the P3, to get the P3 top and the IQ.
Other than that....?
You get the top on the Classic. Do you need the IQ?
There's also the Boost function.

And... 5 Extra Watts!!!There's also the Boost function.
The boost could be interesting. While not needed for my carto ranks, it seems as if it would come in handy the rare occasions the Kayfuns make an appearance. Not sure if it would be of benefit with a Kabuki, as I haven't used one, nor a Nautilus tank...
Unless I'm vaping the P3 back to back with a 2.5 I don't notice the boost function. I've never felt like my coils took too long to heat up.

Lol! There was really nothing that compelled me to get a P3 outside of curiosity.

LOL, same here, and the only reason I wound up with one was because someone was willing to trade for an extra REO that I had. Boost, meh, doesn't really interest me, tried it out, I'll wait the half second for my coils to heat up. Info all included each time device activated, nice. IQ, good function for testing a battery, I have cradles made up to run batteries through multiple charge/ discharge cycles on a smart charger if I have a questionable cell, But I can see the usefulness of it. Scrolling memory, the more I use it , the more I like it, but the old menu works fine as well. Extra 25% headroom on power, haven't explored that territory yet but nice to know it's there. In the end, to me, it's another ProVari, feels and vapes like my other fourteen ProVari's...Lol! There was really nothing that compelled me to get a P3 outside of curiosity.
I highly recommend the P3 for just such a job! It does it's thing and does it very well!I'm not looking for my last ProVari, just one to test a Kabuki on and play around with...
Wish I could help you out but I don't rebuild so I'm a dumbwhen it comes to that. Jackie is the rebuilder in the family. She used to rebuild Kanger heads and uses a K4. I did get out the jewelers visor and checked it out to see what I could tell you. It looks like if your meticulous enough, you should be able to. I mean Avid does it, right? I think I remember him rebuilding the rebuilds when he was perfecting the process with prototypes. I believe the wicking is silica so it lasts. You know, you don't have to be as .... as I am and clean it every tank full. The first couple I didn't clean until after a full 30ml bottle but found out they last longer cleaning more often. Only one way to find out, right? I'll tell you this, the wire he uses is way thicker than the original. It's beautiful to be truthful. If you do try it, I'd be curious to know how it works out for you.
Sadly, yes.
I'd like to think I don't have a reputation for being dramatic, or exaggerating things...so I hope my absence has served as a testament to what I'm saying about the wrong people finding their way into threads they don't belong in.
I've had other users tell me "Don't let someone else ruin your experience." but that's easier said than done, when that someone else can have you suspended or banned, just because they feel like being a [bad word].
So, like grease on a frying pan, I'm clinging to the edges of my existence on the ECF...there's this thread, and one other, that provide my daily reason to return...other than that, all my other haunts are off limits in my new rule book.
Trust me...
You need the extra features...
