The boost could be interesting. While not needed for my carto ranks, it seems as if it would come in handy the rare occasions the Kayfuns make an appearance. Not sure if it would be of benefit with a Kabuki, as I haven't used one, nor a Nautilus tank...

Unless I'm vaping the P3 back to back with a 2.5 I don't notice the boost function. I've never felt like my coils took too long to heat up.

I take a primer puff most of the time, but I think it's just force of habit I picked up after watching P. Busardo's vids...

There's also the Boost function.

Yeah... but that by itself isn't very compelling, at least to me. I use it. I like it. But it's not a deal maker, or breaker.

The battery health feature is really what sold me on getting at least one P3.

The P3 top cap would have been another, but I already had that on the Mini Ti twins.

Oh it is nice to be sure. That little bit of ramp up works very well.

I do notice it. There is a definite use for that feature, but I wouldn't recommend a device, any device, just to get boost.

Lol! There was really nothing that compelled me to get a P3 outside of curiosity.
LOL, same here, and the only reason I wound up with one was because someone was willing to trade for an extra REO that I had. Boost, meh, doesn't really interest me, tried it out, I'll wait the half second for my coils to heat up. Info all included each time device activated, nice. IQ, good function for testing a battery, I have cradles made up to run batteries through multiple charge/ discharge cycles on a smart charger if I have a questionable cell, But I can see the usefulness of it. Scrolling memory, the more I use it , the more I like it, but the old menu works fine as well. Extra 25% headroom on power, haven't explored that territory yet but nice to know it's there. In the end, to me, it's another ProVari, feels and vapes like my other fourteen ProVari's...

I'm not looking for my last ProVari, just one to test a Kabuki on and play around with...
I highly recommend the P3 for just such a job! It does it's thing and does it very well! And seeing them sitting there in the specials page makes the adoption so much easyer ;)

Wish I could help you out but I don't rebuild so I'm a dumb :censored: when it comes to that. Jackie is the rebuilder in the family. She used to rebuild Kanger heads and uses a K4. I did get out the jewelers visor and checked it out to see what I could tell you. It looks like if your meticulous enough, you should be able to. I mean Avid does it, right? I think I remember him rebuilding the rebuilds when he was perfecting the process with prototypes. I believe the wicking is silica so it lasts. You know, you don't have to be as .... as I am and clean it every tank full. The first couple I didn't clean until after a full 30ml bottle but found out they last longer cleaning more often. Only one way to find out, right? I'll tell you this, the wire he uses is way thicker than the original. It's beautiful to be truthful. If you do try it, I'd be curious to know how it works out for you.

I've been so curious about these since first hearing of them. I was/am a huge HH357 fan, and I've always thought Hanna absolutely knows what he's doing. I still have a couple of his proto 357s and I do think he's got it when it comes to coils. I believe he was a true pioneer. Thank you, gin chilly, for this info. Avid may have an order one of these days soon.

Sadly, yes.

I'd like to think I don't have a reputation for being dramatic, or exaggerating things...so I hope my absence has served as a testament to what I'm saying about the wrong people finding their way into threads they don't belong in.

I've had other users tell me "Don't let someone else ruin your experience." but that's easier said than done, when that someone else can have you suspended or banned, just because they feel like being a [bad word].
So, like grease on a frying pan, I'm clinging to the edges of my existence on the ECF...there's this thread, and one other, that provide my daily reason to return...other than that, all my other haunts are off limits in my new rule book.

Altho I'm uber interested and intrigued now... I'll just say that's it definitely nice to have you in here. Perhaps we are the lucky ones.

Trust me...

You need the extra features...

Jim

I dun trust ya. ;)

There is ONE drawback to those rebuilt Nautilus coils but it's not enough for me to quit using them. The last 1 1/2 ml in a 5ml tank, I get gurgling due to juice being collected in the bottom of the base where the contact spring and rubber grommet is. Since I remove and clean the coil after every tank anyway, I make, "toothpicks" out of the corners of a Kleenex and clean around that spring and rubber grommet. Four corners of one tissue is always enough to get it dry.
