Anybody Using A Kabuki?

The diamond polisher at work is calibrated on 4 cycles to cut exactly halfway across the holes of a stamp sized sample of a circuit board, the stamp sized section being encased in an acrylic resin mount we make and clip onto the arm of the polisher in a frame. I have been practicing hand grinding and polishing the past 2 days at work with limited success. Half the time what I am trying to grind and polish goes flying across the room...

Hey, I would have taken it to the Tool And Die shop at the chemical plant I worked at. My first job there was running their tool crib. Not if it's under warranty, though.

Look, I know it's a PITA, but you must trust the Zen, you must. It's a learning experience for him and, I'm certain, ProVape as well.

We do have a cool machine in the lab which can give a chemical analysis of a liquid in seconds. It sucks in a little of the liquid through a tube, vaporizes it and analyses the gas. Wonder if it would work with e-liquid...

We got $5,000 (five thousand) for a one liter bottle. Sent it out in cases full packed in dry ice. The packaging was worse than the manufacturing of it.

I wouldn't worry too much about him, Gin. I have no doubt that he's fine, and that none of this will impact him in the least.

I don't want to speak for him, but it might impact his pride. I know he feels bad about it. That said, he needs to know how it is impacting his devoted customers. ProVape does too. Their hands aren't exactly clean, either.

My last job at that GOD FORSAKEN chemical plant Hell Hole was a lab tech... Before that, it was making the coating that protects circuit boards. ProVape is probably a customer. We got $5,000 (five thousand) for a one liter bottle.

I didn't even really want my current job. There were layoffs coming at the thermoplastics job I worked at, so I volunteered for a buyout. I got a good buyout plus 6 months severance, so was enjoying the summer off, but I had to apply for 2 jobs per week for unemployment. I figured I paid for it, so may as well take it. I made a lot last year, so the unemployment was quite good. Unfortunately, the place I work at now called me in for an interview and I was hired that day, but got to enjoy another 3 weeks off due to clearance and a background check- they are an ITAR certified facility. So, now I do non destructive microsection testing and evaluation of circuit boards. This place does the whole process- from making the board to final assembly. The lab I work in is a combined wet lab and dry lab, so there's all sorts of cool equipment to play with. The pay and benefits are fantastic, as is the experience. I knew pretty much nothing of circuit boards 2 weeks ago when I started and am already IPC certified...

No chance ProVape makes their own boards in house. It is a huge process to make a circuit board. I have no doubt they have them made to spec in the US somewhere, maybe even where I work, and put the chip on it in house, but it is a lot of work to make a circuit board with many $millions in equipment and a lot of people and processes...

Oh, yeah. Only requirement for the dry lab are safety glasses, but some areas have to wear full chemical suits. One of the chemists in the lab was telling me a story of a guy who used to work there who didn't wear his chemical gear once. He was short and was reaching up to pour a beaker of some sort of acid into a process tank, but spilled it all down his front. He ripped off his clothes and went in the shower, but was still badly burned. The acid ate through his clothes and skin...

I'm sure he feels bad about people having issues, Gin. He's a good man, and a good vendor. He makes things right as often as he can, but this is not a perfect world that we vape in.

That being said, we would be remiss to take any of it too seriously. It's a vaporizer, it's a tank, it's a coil... you get my drift. I'm sure that I speak for many when I say that I wish a tank-not-firing was the toughest thing I'd have to deal with today.

Zen will be fine, and we'll all be fine. Even if we don't get our 510 threaded black or GMZ Kabukis, believe it or not.

But you're a good man for worrying about his feelings.

A paper gap?? LOL, no I don't have a paper gap. And if I did, I most likely would not focus on it. A major gap (what I call gaposis) can be bling fixed.

I had exactly one issue with connection. Once I tightened down the coil, it was vape vape vape all the way home. Then again, I do have both Kabuki with 510 connectors, and am not sure at this time if that points to the problem/solution.

Of course it doesn't feel that way, and of course all of us would love you (with probs) to have them fixed in a speedy manner. My point was that I have a feeling Zen will take this seriously, and make that happen.

I'm beginning to wonder if the manufacture of the P3 threading needs to be re-CNC'd... dunno.
